  • so beautifil !!!

  • very slow as usual...but so sublime. thx

  • brilliant playing... When u hear this music u feel like you are resting, when u hear all these pop music crappy pieces u feel disgusted... my point of view:D

  • @RestlessSauron I agree… I always do my best to respect all forms of art, but there is what I like and what I do not like, and I definitely like Schubert… Many years ago I read that when you listen to Schubert, life seems easier and more beautiful. This music improves my mood, and it makes me a better and happier person, it reconciles me with this world.

  • @Kobzar3374 I agree with you :D

  • brilliant playing...

  • The best!!! I can listen everyday.

  • Listen to Shura Cherkassky's version of this sonata and specifically this movement. Search Youtube for: Cherkassky plays Schubert sonata in A opus 120 (2/3) You won't regret it.

  • My all time favorite...

  • Thank you for giving this to the world.

  • wunderschöner Klang, tolle Agogik, das Instrument singt, spricht, klagt...

  • Schubertscher Ton in höchst artifizieller Darstellung

  • himmlischer Schubert-Ton

  • sounds sublime...

  • no words can express....JUST GREAT MUSIC...GREAT MAN

  • Richter's playing brings tears to my eyes, after listening to Richter, one finally says to himself, "ah, so that is how it's played!"

  • @dalecampbl5 I have the same impression every time I listen to him. This is the way it should be played.

  • @samsonno Sir, I agree totally! Many thanks for posting. Best wishes.

  • This music breaks my heart.

  • I never particularly liked music by Schubert, but Richter is a wonder in communicating it. This is the kind of music his father, an ethnic German (executed because of false allegations), was so fond of. So Richter regularly played such music - on his father's birthday. Beautiful.

  • @bortkievitch

    Amén

  • This music is truly smexy : ]

  • Musica nella sua ESSENZA!!!!

  • So intense without tension. Similar unearthly this piece can be found on YT by Shura Cherkassky in and for a bit different mood - less "commanding" in a more floating way.

  • Sviatoslav, Schubert... true Gods of music.

    Loving this.... thanks.

  • how incredible it is that he makes a major key piece sound so sad.

  • this is due to Schubert...

  • Morakeo, you are absolutely right. He is Schubert here.

  • Richter's poetry...definitive interpretation.

  • Questo "Andante" è indubbiamente il gioiello della Sonata, poesia pura. E di fronte ad una simile interpretazione possiamo soltanto inchinarci. Grazie

  • mai sentita fatta cosi...stupenda!

  • che suono!

  • stupendo

  • Richter, the greatest interpreter of our time.

I have been waiting for this recording to be broadcasted on youtube.

Finally it is here. Thank you.

  • Richter, one of my favorite. Schubert, my favorite *****

  • Shubert, my favorite. D 959 2

  • Objective but subjective, clarity but passionate, totally relaxed phrasing but hypnotizing intensity. You get the feeling that he covers all aspects of the piece he plays. What a musician.

  • Well said.

  • It doesn't get better than this...
