@psycoclan1 That is a focus puller. He is controlling the the camera's focus (and possibly the zoom). the camera operator doesn't have enough hands to do all that.

@kennethFOB I think the steadicam operator has so much on his mind that zooming is done by someone else ;) But then again, a novice-steadicam operator won't do this shot in the first place, so maybe zooming is done by the operator ;)

@jjwesten Why do you think the focuspulling is not done remotely. I mean here in the Netherlands we even have remote focuspulling and the budgets here are not that huge. . . . It also seems he keeps in generally the same position and makes a weird move @ 0:32 almost like he is helping to stabilize the mount. . . Or am i completly paranoid? oh last note, would'nt a focuspuller need a better view of the monitor? ok, that;s it :)

@Joedsen A focuspuller don't look a the monitor. He´s looks at the markings on his remote, the cameras position and the object where focus has to be. Best place to be - to do that job, is next the the camera itself. It remote, but only a few feeds in this case.

Oh, damn. I didn't even notice the glidecam operator rode in on the Segway and then JUMPED off onto the platform before he started walking backwards in circles.

It is incredibly dangerous and difficult running full speed with a Steadicam. They are very heavy, and they are strapped onto your torso via a vest. Running like this can easily jack up your back. Absolutely incredible work from this operator.

The AC (Focus Puller) has an equally tough job nailing focus like that. It is difficult on a film set; I can't image doing it for LIVE TV. Absolutely nuts. Wonderful work here.

I think that second guy is what they call, the focus puller, he controls zoom and focus of the camera while the Steadicam operator "focuses" on pointing the camera...

Which surprises me, I always thought zoom and focus where controls right at the Steadicam operator's thumb for him to do all the work on his own.
