  • new to gardening, thanks for the mildew info and showing what you have done with your melons!

  • Don't they get white powdery mildew by water hitting the leaves when watering?

  • neem oil works for everything and is safe.

  • You are very right about clipping off the new growth to make the plant concentrate its efforts to grow larger fruit.

Do not compost mildew leaves, you are right.

    Love your vids, thanks

  • I have been using baking soda and a soap solution with 1 asprin.to a gallon of water.seems to working.

  • If you mix 3 or 4 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide with water in a quart sized squirt bottle it will kill the mold.

  • what do you do with all of your melons? I had a lot last year but not as many as you have. I am goiing to try a trellis. My bees helped pollenate everything.

  • Fry up those melon blossoms you pick off! They are yummy...they taste like mushrooms

  • HOPEFULLY I GOING TO MAKE A GARDEN TREE ABOUT AS MANY CANTALOUPES VINE AS YOU HAVE 12 FEET TALL AND 4 TO 6 FEET WIDE ABOUT 200 PLANTS YOU GET THIS MANY SQ FEET OF GARNERING SPACE 226 PLUS SOME DEPTH MAKING IT ABOUT 300 SQ THE OTHER WAY OF GARDENING 32.SQ ABOUT 10 TIMES MORE FAST SIMPLE AND EASY SELF FEEDING AND WATERING REALLY I KNOW HOW TO DOUBLE THAT IN THE SAME SPACE AROUND 600 SQ AND SELF SHADING .

  • Wow Awesome to know

  • 1 mellon is great but many mellons are better.

  • I think the term you were looking for for controlling powdery mildew is fungicide, such as a copper sulfate

  • Hey, I havn't seen "mellons" like those since my prom night! HA! Great job John

  • we use milk powder in new zealand it works great on tomatoes also

  • organacide works wonders!!! i'd do comercial for them, kills almost everybug i've seen, and is made from fish oil so it's like a foliar feed too!!!

  • That's an impressive collection of mellons.

  • you make me excited to see how my melens do

  • You can also use diatomaceous earth to control powdery mildew (& insects)

  • Try neem oil next season to avoid PM. It also works well as a preventative insect shield.

  • wow cool melon.

  • That's very cool! I love members of the gourd family hanging around like that. UGh yes powedery mildew is evil. It's the main reason I can't grow pumpkins. Poor pumpkins.
