  • Thanks for excavating & putting it on film.Ever since I read about the Carolina bays incident I got fascinated about what might have caused them.

  • Oh lord no, sir, they are not protected -- and there thousands upon thousands of them. Very easy to study in person. Have at!

  • Many Carolina Bays are on public land and are protected...i.i....no digging. On private land digging is probably ok, but keep in mind wetland regulations. If you have access to private land with a Bay, I would be happy to help dig. I live in the charleston area.

  • I have been forever obsessed with Carolina Bays. I only wish i could inspect one as you have. I do believe they are protected from amateurs like myself.
