what a great video, I love this song - and I love it even more now I know what it means - can't believe how much italian I'm picking up listening to this artist lol
Ich habe dieses Video vor mehr als 2 Jahren zu meinen Favoriten hinzugefügt und freue mich immer wieder, dass es noch da ist. Alles stimmt: Musik, Bilder, Übersetzung, Schrift. Bravo, TheNewCitizen!!
One of my targets is to keep a parallelism, sensibly, between Italian and English words. So you can see that "Tutta la mia vita" is "My whole life". The sense is... that my videos have educational purpose, as well.
Sometimes I have to compromise on these two aspects; structure vs parallelism.
Since in poetry you can change the order of the words, structuring lines, sometimes I play on this side, sensibly using punctation. Just compromising. :-P Bye!
@sandrodream1 And remember, she might be famous in italy because she is italian, but she is worldly known by singing in spanish, don't forget that spanish is, by far, the second most spoken language in the world besides chinese, by native speakers, of course.
@sandrodream1 well I think both versions are great. Whenever she writes a new song she instantlly translates it into spanish, she has always sung in both languages. When she have a new CD, it comes in italian and spanish at the same time, and she has also written songs in spanish before italian as well and then translates them, and all her songs either in italian or spanish say the same things.
A disjunctive pronoun is a stressed form of a personal pronoun used in some syntactic situations, mainly in colloquial language.
Personally, I don't like to use it in my translations, I think that a consistent syntactic analysis of the sentence is more useful for viewers to learn the basis of Italian language.
Tutta la mia vita sei tu= My whole life is you (you are my whole life). Here, "sei tu" doesn't mean "you are you". When you want to say that something is something the verb has to be conjugated with the disjunctive pronoun, for example: "it's me" when you knock at a door, in italian you have to say "sono io" (litteraly I am me). So here,"my whole life, it's you" (it's you= sei tu)
I love the song and had no clue what it was about, so thx for both . I know it takes time to translate correctly, therefor I appreciate vids like these A LOT!
this is a great song! first time i hear it and it's a favourite. Thanks SO MUCH for the english lyrics you put on your vids and the songs, it's so helpful for us who don't know italian but who love italian songs and want to be able to understand them!
I would like to personally thank TNewC for traslating this fabulous song .Your effort is to be admired ... For a lot of Americans love Lauras songs. But I prefer to hear her sing in Italian ... And it is Not because I'm Italian either ... Listen, I'm fluent in Italian, Spanish English and this year I'm learning French ... So, I Know that sometimes you cannot translate word for word, it loses that special sentiment that she's trying to express in her songs. A warm hug from N. Y.
i love laura pausini and this songs is one of my favorites but the part where she says " preferisco dirti addio " is actually translated to " i prefer (or i rather ) say good bye
I know, I know, thank you for suggestion; but besides the literary translation, I care more for the right interpretation of the lyrics. To me, "I'm gonna say goodbye" has same meaning but expresses a stronger position of the main character to solve once for all the love affair, breaking up! Ok, thanks!
Continue with all your translations ... This way more people become familiar with Italy's greatest singers ! I applaud your work ... Especially, your self expression ! Ciao Bello !
Congrats! Very good adaptation. The translation into english still having the sensitive ideas from the orriginal text in italian.

Non !

arisgreece26 2 years ago
Ich, die in dir gewohnt werden werde
In deiner bizarren Stadt
Allein mit dem Instinkt, deren wie lieben wissen
Allein aber immer mit dir
Ich kann nicht mich mehr zwischen dich und das Meer trennen
Ich kann nicht mehr spuerren muede zu erwarten
arisgreece26 2 years ago
Ich suche in jedem Stern der Nacht deine Reflexion
Aber dieses ausreicht nicht, ich muss jetzt maturieren!!
Nein!! Meine Liebe nein!!.......
Ich kann nicht mich mehr zwischen dich und das Meer trennen
Ich kann nicht mehr hier stehen, um dich zu warten
Ich kann nicht mich mehr zwischen dich und das Meer trennen
arisgreece26 2 years ago
Nein!! Meine Liebe nein!!
Ich bin nicht einverstanden
Etwender wirst du zuruechgeben, oder stehst du dort
Ich lebe mehr nicht, ich habe mehr kein Traum
Ich habe Angst, helfe mich!!
Meine Liebe ich kann nicht dich mehr glauben
Jedes Mal, dass du fort gehst
Du schwoerst mir, dass es das letzte (Mal) wird
Ich bevorzuge Tschuess zu sagen
