Alito was overturned by the Supreme Court 3 times. Scalia was also overturned by the Supreme Court? Does that make them bad judges? Not necessarily.

The cases where Sotomayor's been overturned aren't saying things like "the judge made a clear error of judgment." The differences are subtle in reasoning that leads to a different outcome.

I'm not sure if you're thinking that a reversal means that automatically the judge in the lower court did the wrong thing, but that's absolutely not the case.
