@deathjoker666, I agree with you entirely. There should have made all PS3's PS2 backwards compatible. They have PS1 and PS3, but not PS2? WTF? At least in software emulation to save money. C'mon Sony! I just upgraded mine to 320 gb. If mine craps out, I will just get a new one once I have money and take out my new hard drive and the standard 40 gb that came standard back in Aug 08 when I bought it. I agree, its annoying. I have a Slimline PS2 also. Maybe they might do it when PS2's are extinct.

it don't affect me cus i have a ps2 slimline to play ps2 and ps1 games on it. but still its annoying to have multiple consoles to play games on. i still play old games. i have a N64(example only) so back to sony. they should make a patch for those who want to play ps2 games on their 80gb 2 usb ports or others thatcan't play older games. at least they should put games up on psn for downloads.

There are rumors if it being rumored to be released with software emulation, but I would rather have a PS2 and play all PS2 games instead of it playing only 75% of PS2 games with glitches. My friend has a PS2 FAT one and it still works since like 2002-2003 and it still works used from GameStop. Most people think BC is an overrated feature. Most people disagree, but again, its a matter of preference. I don't care really. Its good to have it on 1 system, but at the same time, not if its half-assed

the ps3 uses so much space, I got a 80gb, I only have 9 games, all less than a GB except for MGS4, and GT5P. But I only have 50gb left. What is all of that space being used for? also, why pay $100 to get a 160gb ps3, when you can pay $100 to get 320gb hardrive and use that as a hrddrive when your done with the 80gb space.

yeah but in Sams Club, there are deals where for $499.99 same price as 160gb you get 1)LBP ($60) 2) 2 controllers  ($120) 3) and a blu-ray remote ($30) and I feel that 80gb ps3 offer is much better than a 160gb with uncharted and PAIN (which got horrible reviews BTW)

Ya its not that big of a deal cause once you play ps3 games your old ps2 once seem lame haha. I have the 20 gig i made it a 200 hundred gig and got a wireless box add on so i get full backwords compatability. I never play ps2 games on the ps3 its almost a waste of time. When you do have time you wanna spend it on cod4 and resistance 2 online and all the great single players like mgs4 and uncharted. If you have an hd tv you will not wanna play ps2 games haha ps3 games look wayyy better.

See the 60 gb model was first one first models which why there so many things wrong with it and sometimes the blu ray will get frozen I would say get the 40, 80 or 160 dont get the 60 its has too many things wrong with it.

The upcoming 160 GB model and the current 80 GB model are gonna be a crutch to Sony. A lot of gamers won't get it as the removal of backwards compat. while still keeping the $400 and $500 price is such a bad thing.

uhh, the 160 is alright if your gonna download alot,

about the card readers, if you have a sanddisk, Memory stick duo(like psp memorycard) or the other one,(look at this guys other video) you can use them to transport data and such.

the ps3 controllers need to be recharged so you need to hook em up to the ps3 to charge em. if you have multiple controllers, its a problem, but u can always buy a charging station or get the AA thing.

but matrix2k3 is right, they are only doing this to reduce cost

It's worth mentioning that of that roughly 90% of games an 80 gig will play through software emulation, a few don't work that well. Most famously, MGS3, which has some terrible frame-rate issues when played on the on the 80 gig.

hey matrix i installed linux ubuntu not the official sony one and it runs actually quite well now im gonna tell u now installing with ubuntu = ez BUT theres just one problem its rilly hard to update the kernel for more applications such as getting ur wifi up and ready i only get internet with wired because i cant insall wifi im still researching that but i went on aim and mozilla and opened a program like microsoft word and they all worked im also working on media players but ill keep u updated!
