Hey am going to be buying a nice piece of land soon and i would love to put it to good use with organic farming. i am young years old and i have verry little experiece in farming big crops.
it would be a delight if any one can share some insight and help in any way. i have a great project for the future and it is farming organic crops and selling it to my community in miami, i would like to be able to give some crops to homeless people and people in need and educate them on sustainability. thk
I'll tell you about an off-grid elderly Navajo Lady. Lived by herself, on her own reservation land, in her own hogan, raised a few goats, and chickens, had a garden. Was happy. A Gov official saw how poor she was and moved her to Gov housing. She had no money, couldn't read, got water and elect bills she didn't pay. The Gov Housing authority shut off her water and elect in the winter. She was cold, hungry, and helpless. Good thing the Gov put her there, even without her permission. True story.
You are correct you dont NEED electricity but when it doesnt rain if you want to save your crops and grow crops you NEED water. most farms use some form of irrigation these days. Thats just the way it is. If you want your crops to grow as you stated you need sunlight water and seeds. No water no grow.
Also all greenhouses need water since it cant rain inside a greenhouse. If you use city water or a well it uses electricity to water inside the greenhouse.
Her water comes from her own pond and a solar powered well pump thus using no grid electricity.
The point of the video is she is more sustainable than most farms.
thats all just great,,, dont let the Monsanto corp find out your saving seeds ... seriously they are suing everyone,, even little hobby farmers, over 80% of world wide farmed products have an internationally recognized patent owned by Monsanto,, supreme courts around the world have ruled that if a food product has been genetically modified, it can be patented,, if your garden has any plant that has been cross pollinated,,regardless of how it happened,, you owe monsanto money,,,
@mpkennedy08 I'll sign your petition. I agreee Monsanto needs to be stopped for sure. The trouble is they have people working for government agencies such as the FDA and other government committees. Monsanto has a lot of power but so do people.
@CouldNotCareLes ,,, the reason you dont hear much is because Monsanto is part of the military industrial complex, that uses food as a weapon... you should try doing a little research instead of dismissing it out of hand ., they own virtually the entire food market in Hatie and have demonstrated how they can starve an entire nation.. Hatie is a laboratory that all smaller nations see as an example of what can be done to them...wake up
I know hundreds of farmers (I am a farmer myself) and I read all farming periodicals. I have watched this very closely since 1996 when GMO seed was released to commercial growers. There were a dozen cases in the late 1990's, none since. No news source has any recent information to contribute to this issue.
This whole "Monsanto sues farmers" thing is internet mythology.
@ikambor Monsanto is one of the world's biggest terrorists. They bought "Blackwater" (Now XE?) Ask yourself why a seed company needs a private mercenary army? They have overpowered family farmers in the courts aftr their frankenstein seeds trespassed onto others farms. Suit M for trepass, post your land, no trespassing by GMO seeds, and suit their butts before they suit you. If a purebred Holstein bull trespasses and impregnates someone's prize Hereford cow, then it has damaged that farmer.
@ikambor Ive heard of this. I have a good hookup for heirloom seeds if anyone is interested. Its disgusting, you look them up on heirloom seeds on the net and the prices are...well, sick. But, I have can get them in the mountains of WV pretty cheap if anyone wants them. I would love to help
@KesslersCross Hey, I saw your post about heirloom seeds and was wondering if you could hook my up with your hookup? lol. Starting a large garden this spring. Thanks.
@vixi314 Sure thing, but since I posted that I actually found a better supplier that was a little cheaper with a bigger varity. its Mypatriotseeds com I bought a few emg kits. They sell for around forty ish i think but would be well more than enough for a large garden. Let me know though if its not what you want because I was in that store in the mts. just the other day and they still have a pretty good stock.
@MickScarborough The only way to break free from the obvious growing tyranny would be for a massive revolution to happen. If states are brave enough to start seceding while there's still a little freedom left, war will be a unavoidable result. Big gov. doesn't WANT states living independently from them... they want to control every aspect of each & every human's life. The "elite" are exempt, naturally. We're losing our Republic at an alarming rate.
what if you could combine the two? where can i get these new joker products? thats the catch chances are, you've allready got em! organic edible landscapeing. dirt cheap we'll farm your front lawn and backyard for very cheap. how? we'll imply that the workers are illegal aliens. but really, our workers have no grocery bill and good health. by the time you realize it your lawn is part of the comminazi anarchist takeover. solar panal rainwater collection and decorative wind turbines are extra.
Thanks for the video i seem to learn so much from videos like yours and others.

What happens if your solar panels break? Go to a store and buy a new one? Is that really off grid?
shaunathan05 4 months ago
@shaunathan05 If you understood what off the grid means, yes. Buying a new solar panel has nothing to do with being off the grid.

its off the grid they dont use electricity to farm.
the solar panels are doing the work instead of the electrical grid.

electricity has no relevence in farming

irrigation uses electricity to run the well pumps
hoophouses at traditional farms use fans and heaters and thermostats.
depending on the type of farm some farms use more electricity than others
her farm is solar powered water pumping and no electricity in her hoophouse.
copefarms 1 year ago
ok great. what im saying is electricity is not REQUIRED for growing crops.
you do not NEED electricitry to grow a tree or corn beans , ANYTHING RIGHT ?
ok great
mpkennedy08 1 year ago
if you are making a recipe on how to farm it would go
seeds check
water check
sunlight check
electricity ?????? no you do not need electricity to grow anything

First, it's spelled Haiti ... and that you misspelled it might be taken as an indicator of how much you understand of its issues.
Second, ... aw, nevermind.
