i'd recommend office as opposed to iwork esp if u're new to the "apple family". it can be quite overwhelming when u make the switch from using a pc to a macbook pro.
one quick question. say i want to type a basic paper for school, and i dont have a printer so i need to e-mail it to my professor, can i easily e-mail them my paper (without having to do anything difficult)? and can they easily just open it from their comp (which is a pc) ? please resond ASAP!!
all you have to do is export it to, a PDF file, a plain text file, or if you have it, microsoft office. i personally have both, just because it's easier to use iwork, but most people have office, so its good to have. once it's exported, all you have to do is email it to them. the only problem you'll encounter is exporting keynote presentations to microsoft powerpoint. this is because powerpoint does not have most of the backrounds, animations, etc. other than that, you should be fine.
I know you can export iWork to Office applications, but if you export a pages document to Word and you don't have Mac Office can you still save the file to an external memory, and when you upload it to a windows, would it come up as a word document or a Pages document.
if you meant that can you edit a document originally made on iWork (which has then been exported to Office format) then yes, you can still edit it. iWork wouldn't sell that well if it wasn't compatible. Plus its cheaper :P
I'm starting a small business and I wanted to know if someone can let me know if iworks will help me with making receipts, flyers, etc.

what is the difference between iwork and iwork family?
thierryosman 2 years ago
you get more downloads off the disc with the family version
you only get 1 with the basic one.
23drumfreak23 2 years ago
the family version is to be installed into more macs, the normal iwork is only meant to be used for 1 user

I've heard that Mac computers, using iWork, can run Microsoft games; is that true? I haven't been able to find any information about it.

Pages is meant to be PC friendly. All you have to do is click on file, export and than click the image that says .DOC and you are covered. Thats it.
mamerican7772 3 years ago
file, export, word, save to desktop.
open email, drag doc into the email body, becomes a link
and if the person ur emailing to has word they can click and read and or edit it.
i help my sis with her student council speech. i have iwork she has office.
