Our family has been attending The Fellowship Church for more than 5 years. I love the atmosphere and the great music but best of all, Ed Young, the Pastor's message is the best!
I have to agree to disagree with you posters on here pertaining to Fellowship Church. Ed Young is a phony as well as the "Sunday Christians" and "$30,000 Millionaires" who attend there. Attending Fellowship is like dating a smoking hot chick who treats you like total dog crap. The sermons are basically a flavor-of-the-month pop concerts aimed at spoiled, upper-middle class teenagers (think MTV). And the worst of all is that you don't really get to have an intimate relationship with God.
@lakebay972 upperclass? my mum makes less than a teacher....Fellowship and The Mix has been a blessing to me and truly the best thing that has EVER happened to me. It's what keeps me going. I look forward to Flavour and F.IG (fort worth campus) and The Mix and Sunday services even though i dont get to go often because of my parents. Those days that i do though make my week or even my month. Fellowship has changed many peoples lives including mine. Allaso Ranch is proof of that
@JustAKissInTheRain Try Watermark Church off of 635 and Coit instead. There you can do all of that; plus have a deeper intimate relationship with Christ.
I have been going to Fellowship in Plano for about four years now. Ed Young doesn't care what church you attend - he just wants you to find a place that makes sense to you/and perhaps your family. He has been able to reach and save so many people that have been lost, like myself. He is an awesome speaker that can captivate the church audience every week. I encourage those with an open mind to attend a service and make a decision based on their experience rather than some negative review.
krodel: So you weren't saying I made negative comments about the church or Ed, cuz that's what it sounded like? People often completely misconstrue what I say and turn it into something I didn't say. It's so frustrating and annoying.
I go to this church, and out of all the tons I've been to, this one is my favorite. Ed Young is so passionate and creative, every week he comes up with whimsicle ways to teach about God. It's a fantastic church to get teenagers interested in God as well.
don't judge Ed Young based on a little 4 minute video. He does read from the Gospel every week I make sure of it. I have attended fellowship for 5 years.
dancechik14: This video wasn't intended to slander or malign Ed Young. I just wanted to show people the church, that's all....people who don't have the fortunate opportunity to travel around the entire country like I do, and see intriguing places - or give people ideas of places to see when they're in the area; or at least let them know what to expect when they get there.
Fellowship Church just seems so, uhh, fake. It's like the 40 year old mom trying to wear teenager jeans and shirts that say "juicy." It all seems like a Broadway version of emo, or rock, or whatever flavor of the month. Fake. Plastic. They take the authenticity of someone else and turn it into a mass produced product. I realize that some people really like this, like, upper-class Dallas white people, but most people are just looking for something real.
@FireThunderTV I went there a few years ago for a church conference and they did a medley of the songs that they did on the weekend. It was weird to hear a Plain White T's song on a giant stage in the broadway style. I was thinking, the original song is cool because a guy is pouring his heart out in some coffee shop while playing his beat up acoustic. Fellowship made the song seem so theatrical when they did it. A couple of my friends go there and they like the performance. Its not my thing
graceofannarbor: Yea, they're kinda on the glitzy side. It's Dallas! It appeals to artistic people, and those who don't like the typical boring religious service. I don't mind it all that much. It's cutting edge - felt like I was at Hillsong Church. What I don't like is churches that are 2 seeker sensitive and don't preach the full gospel. I don't really have much of an opinion of Fellowship Church because I only visited them one time. From what I saw, it seemed pretty cool - nice people 2.
graceofannarbor: Also....I'll quote you since you said it best: "It's like the 40 yr old mom trying to wear teenager jeans and shirts that say "juicy."" I agree, and that's the idea I was trying to convey when I made that comment about Ed Young. I'm not very articulate. I try, but that's just something I'm not good at. Do you live in Ann Arbor, MI? I've been there DOZENS of time. Love Trader Joes!!!
@graceofannarbor don't judge Ed Young based on a little 4 minute video. He does read from the Gospel every week I make sure of it. I have attended fellowship for 5 years.
this breaks my heart...ED YOUNG DOES NOT SPEAK A SINGLE WORD OF THE GOSPEL!! YOU DONT GIVE WHEN YOU ARE ASKED, YOU GIVE WHEN NO ONES LOOKING!!!SELL ONE OF THE MEGATRON SCREENS IF YOU NEEDED MONEY!!
l1495297: I can't comment on that because I only sat through one service, and it wouldn't be fair to him for me to say anything about his preaching when he's not here to defend himself. So I'll just leave it at that.
@l1495297 don't judge Ed Young based on a little 4 minute video. He does read from the Gospel every week I make sure of it. I have attended fellowship for 5 years.
If you Google him you can find his blog. He wad there when I left, but I think he lives in California now with his wife and daughter. I can't imagine the music worship without him.
DarkRed1972: Oh, okay. Yea, I went to this church just because of that video I saw. It's not every day you see someone having their body painted while they're singing in church! LoL.
And....I think it's soo cool that you went there because you saw the New Creation video! That video is so moving. Dex is very talented, and the way the message was delivered was unique and magical.
Fellowship Church led me back to the Lord. I joined in April of 2009. I had the experience of singing with the Worship Team in the Choir.
I now live in Colorado Springs and miss my church so badly. Most big churches make you feel small, but I never had that feeling from Fellowship. They visited my daughter when she was in the hospital and the youth pastor called me and told me to call his cell anytime.
This church is one in a million and they truly represent what Christians should be.
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I've just never seen anything like this, this is so weird to me... whaaaaaoooohhh oh my......It is sooooooooo AMERICAN !!
yeshua4U: This is nothing compared to Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. It's mega huuuuge! They even have a restaurant and an ATM machine inside the church, a football stadium, tennis courts, and alot more. Many Dallas cowboys and celebrities attend that church.
yeshua4U: As long as they filed for non-profit status, then they are tax exempt. I don't know how all the book sales, etc. figures into being tax exempt.
@FireThunderTV this video does not show the complete church, there is more campus's, not including allaso ranch, also prestonwood is just a tad bit smaller than fellowship church, also many celebrities and dallas cowboys attend fellowship too, for example from time to time my youth group have the leader of forever the sickist kids come sing
nichbeg: Sorry. It was the first time I had been to this church. I didn't know there was more, and it was pouring down rain the day I was there so I couldn't walk around outside to see anything else. At least I didn't see any ATM machines and restaurants in Fellowship Church like I saw in Prestonwood Baptist - LoL!!!
@FireThunderTV oh sorry lol yea iv been going there since i was like 5 and been volunteering there since like 10 so yea lol that right there is my life, haha and sadly fellowship church does have atm machines from time to time :P well to be honest i am about to leave for fellowship in a couple of minutes for my youth :P
@nichbeg yeah, and the Cowboys and local celebs only go just to be seen and idolized. Thus, the $30,000 Millionaires can build an image in their mind that they have "connections" to the rich and famous just so they have something to brag about to their friends.

Ed speaks of the gospel all the time and quotes from the Bible weekly, try looking at one of the weekend services.

In Canada our churches enjoy tax exempt status on the land and buildings.
Do the churches in America, have tax exempt status? If they do, then how can this be with all the commerce that goes on in the building?
I don't really expect you to know, I was just thinking out loud.
