  • wow... the old mother knew how to get jodhaa... cuz in the hindu religion, isn't it against ethics for a wife to eat before her husband?

  • i think that old lady is jealous of the attention the emperor is giving jodhaa, she is afraid she will loose her son to a hindu. for love sake she is a mother not his first wife. why should she be jealous if she love her son shouldn't she be happy

  • n what is the big deal behind the queen tasting the food 1st? there all vegetarian dishes so it shudnt be against hinduism shud it?

  • I had a mother in law similar to Elder Mother and it was rough. Totally feel for Jodhabai. eeee, don't envy her....lol.

  • NICE SAVE PRINCE!!! NICE SAVE!!!

Ugh i almost cried when he said he wanted to eat from the same plates... HE's SOOO SWEET!!!

  • It's my personal opinion that they left out Maham Anga dying so we could hate her more. If we would have seen her die, we would have had sympathy...and that's just not good.

  • is that the sassy gay friend? Lol

  • Jodhaa humiliated

    1. She's called cook inspite being a queen/wife

    2. She's being suspected of having poisoned the food.

    3. It is disrespectful to have food before the host and more so in this case because he is her husband. A wife generally eats with her husband or after he has eaten.

  • I like his mother.

  • she is like super evil possessive mother in law :D

  • this movie was boring!!! sub me

  • take that.... bitch (to that old lady) xD hahahaha ♥ :)

  • Don't know why the director didn't include the scene where that old hag Maham Anga dies! Had to see it elsewhere with the other deleted scenes.

  • In Indian tradition it's always considered disrespectful for the cook or the host to consume the food before the guest. Especially to be done in front of them, in this manner. No wonder Aishwarya rai was so crestfallen.

  • @ 07:55

the music, the grace of Aishwarya Rai, the movement of the actresses...the tension..bravo!

  • awww, he's so sweet <3

the old lady in white is a meany

  • It's interesting scene with Jodha eating first, but I kinda don't understand it's meaning. Did she really though that his own wife wants to poison him? Or did she only wanted to humiliate her?

  • @Anaakh It's a custom for the cook to taste the food before it is given to a royal...in this case, the cook was the Queen, but the custom STILL can not be broken...

  • @Anaakh The nurse wanted to make clear that they don't change their customs because of the Hindu Queen, so it's the law that the cook tastes first to prove it's not poisoned, and it didn't matter that she was the cook this time. The reason why Jodhaa is so mortified is that in the Hindu custom, the wife won't eat b4 the husband, and in general if u cook for someone's pleasure, they should be the first to enjoy the meal, so basically her effort was made vain. The nurse may have known this, too.

  • Now I finally understand where this mother is coming from...she is only being protective of her son.

  • WIN

  • i love d way he stood up 4 his wife, after she tried to humiliate her.

  • she is a witch, n d devil's wife

  • I Hate the old lady (:

  • @nalcalico I know...shes SO creepy!

  • @nalcalico

    That's a good reaction :p

When we're able the hate a character, it means that the actor is good ^^ I must admit that the actress that plays Maham Anga is really good. You hate her and understand her in the same time. Too bad that her death scene was deleted from the original movie.

  • @nalcalico i second that :)
