lol I have mostly bi friends, actually. I don't know how that happens.... they kinda understand, to a certain extent, but I just want a lesbian to hang out with too. lol I get so sick of hearing my friends go on and on about how how a guy is.... seriously... I did know one person who was totally gay, like I am, it was so refreshing not having to explain things to her. I also get sick of being asked stupid questions like "so... how are you a lesbian?" etc. Straight people are too curious.

@kimchichick both. sometimes if you have good "gaydar" you're more likely to pick up on people being gay, so perhaps you set your interests on other lesbians, but mostly its not about orientation, its about personality and looks, same with straight people.

I totally understand, and yes, I do want other queer people to know I'm a lesbian, especially because I'm really femmey and they probably just assume I'm straight. *eyeroll* Also, I agree that it's really important to have queer friends, because it gets really shitty to be the token gay person in a sea of straight people. Man, I know how that feels. My wife and I are the only lesbians amongst our party friends and they love pointing that out to new people. We met one of other lesbian couple there one time and one of them hit on my wife, followed her into the bathroom. Not a way to make friends. We have one other lesbian couple who are dear friends and one gay guy. But the rest of our friends are straight. Sometimes you just want to be around people who are like you. You know what I mean?
