  • Hello fonziep, would you have any parts left, I would need some carburetor parts Part# 43132158, 43170912, 43132159, - the leather gaskets I cut myself

  • Don't run at 40:1 !! or it will be toast. 24:1 minimum 16:1 is better !!

  • @jenthebonehead That is true of all 1950's or older out boards 16:1 and it will outlive you is what My Dad always told me so far he was right.

  • what is the model number of this,,,i think i have it

  • i have a 1951 seahorse i rungood 2-cycle at 32;1 and never have a problem

  • would you be willing to sell?

  • 40-1 is from the manual

  • ratio is 40-1

  • really?

I found 24 to 1 on a website. no wonder it wouldnt start

  • @gibsonrocker1995 It is 24:1 recommended or even 16:1 can be ran to be safe. everybody has their opinions

  • do you happen to know what oil to gas ratio this old motor uses?

I have one just like it and don't want to wreck it but would love to use it. thanx.

  • @fenwicker 16-1 and you can double check if you like with the kind folks at AOMCI.org; You MUST make sure your 2-stroke oil is for OUTBOARDS because it's very different for air-cooled chainsaws and whatnot!

  • 6 years ago my grandfather gave me his old antique johnson outboard and ive been looking everywhere on finding info on this and i may have found what ive been looking for. the decals have faded but its an old motor thats gonna be restored =]

  • My father recently gave away what I believe was a 2 or 3 H.P. Johnson Seahorse almost identical to the one in the video. It belonged to my grandfather and was used in the 50's by our family on camping trips in Canada when I was a kid.Aside from any sentimental value was this motor worth anything?

  • If its got fresh paint and scratch less with crome 1-2k at an auction. Dust and bird crap and hasn't been started in years... about $70 on craigslist. Doesn't start, missing unit, tiller gone or any main piece gone or completely broken its just trash.

  • doesnt happen it is WATERcooled the water goes in and out under water you cant see it.

  • i have a 1949 seahorse. did you paint it? if so where did you get the supplies?

  • What horsepower is it?
