I'm surprised Metra Police, Amtrak Police, and Homeland Security didn't make you stop. They have been known to hassle railfans standing on public sidewalks!
keep in mind i only filmed for 2 minutes and i was off to the side of the sidewalk, i stood with some metra employees that hooked up the power when the trains would come in
@Trainbrain1949 You dont get on the Platform at Union unless you have a ticket. Dont usually get messed with much down there but trust me, they are still around and you will never know it unless you are doin somethin you aint supposed to do or look suspicious.
I really like that Chicago's Union station can actually handle the bi-level cars. I spent some time in New York this past summer and the LIRR was a pain in the ass, having to switch from bilevel to single level cars at either Jamaica or Huntington so that they could fit in Penn.
You don't see to many gallery cars any longer. They've been replaced with Bombardier bi-levels. Anyone know of any outfit besides Metra and CalTrain use them?

Used to use the Metra from Belmont station to Downtown. I always thought it was great urban transportation.
