The tune is "Cwm Rhondda", usually sung to "Guide me O Thou Great Redeemer". What I would dearly love is the one which used "We'll keep a welcome in the hillsides", and opened "Magnetic Disk Packs, Fibre Optics"
It genuinely took me some time into this clip before I realised it wasn't the "Failed In Wales" clip. It's completely overtaken the original! It used to be on YouTube but seems to have gone - the Welsh Mafia at work, perhaps?
I've got the Not The Nine O'Clock News DVDs and the "Failed in Wales" and "Made from Whales" spoofs are on them, but not "Laid in Wales". I hope someone puts that one on YouTube.
I don't understand why the BBC hasn't released full episodes of Not The Nine O'Clock News instead of compilations/

And from the telephone number at the end, you can see that the WDA was most certainly not made in Wales! (01 = old code for London)

Well, 01 200 0200 was a catch-all number for quite a lot of organisations at the time, if I recall correctly.

What a classic advert! I saw a spoof once - "Made from Whales", about chewing gum and the like, but can't find it on youtube.

That spoof (and another 'Failed in Wales') were done by Not The Nine O'Clock News.
