@poisedonis You don't even need to upgrade the engine. All you have to do is take the restrictor ring out of the the front pulley of the CVT and get a Game Boy Color tuning chip. You will be able to completely de-restrict it in about an hour and it will do 63mph without any loss in reliability.
@MrThepyrolegend I have the Aprilia Sportcity 50 and the top speed is 42 mph, so I imagine this does about the same. Aprilias are a little faster than the competition. It really slows down on hills though, although you can just stay to the side and let traffic pass. I love my 50 cc and ride it more miles than my two 125 scooters. It seems to love to be driven hard. These Aprilia 50 cc 4 stroke engines are little work horses. There's room under the seat for a full-face helmet on the Sportcity.
@italibello Yes, I know. I test-rode this scooter. It is faster than 42...closer to 50 and more if de-restricted. What I didn't like was the high seat ht., small wheels and high tech features, plus the price. I since traded in my 50. I bought a Scarabeo 100 which would be more comparable to the two stroke 50 with speed and acceleration but is still cheaper. I think the advantage in many countries for a fast 50 is that registration is licensing is easier. In the US there is no difference.

@dkw12002 the sR50 is 2 stroke not 4 stroke that is why its much better then the sportycity50.. also better brakes etc etc.
