Is it just me or does everything just sound better at the Gorge? :) Heading out next weekend for my 9th annual trek to the mecca - So hard to believe LeRoi will never again grace the stage of Heavens' ampitheatre.....RIP
I was there too!!! Infact this will be my 7th year going to the Gorge- College Family Reunion (party of 35)!!! At the begining of this song, 1 of my boyz at the show was informed that his Grandma died. He looked rather sad as you would expect. I asked him if he was ok... he smiled and said "I couldn't imagine a better way to find out something like this. I'm at the Gorge with my bestfriends listening to our favorite band play Lie in Our Graves." Then Boyd rocked us with eye-watering joy!
Boyd's solo in LIOG is IMO, the best solo in any song of DMB's. The energy from the crowd when he kicks into it is insane. Although, Carter's drum solo's in Halloween are some of the greatest ever!
The best version i eversaw was with my boyfriend in Mansfield 7-9-2005. Between Butch and Boyd's beautiful playing (and the death of my good friend the day before) i was brought to tears. THIS concert in the video was the day after that same boyfriend passed away and I can honestly say there is something supernatural about it, it definitely hits you somewhere deep inside and id say that is truly one of dmb's greatest traits as a band.
These couple minutes were literally some of the best moments of my life. This song made me feel truly at peace and happy. I could have died and been totally cool with it.
I was there for the whole weekend. It was absolutely AMAZING!! I had a good friend pass away in a car accident on Saturday September 2, 2006 so this memory means alot to me.

I was at this show, I remember saying to the stranger to my left this solo was worth the ticket price alone, he agreed
