  • Bravossimo! Wonderful! I appreciate to upload this movie for general audiences.

  • Спасибо! Очень понравилось!

Thanks a lot! I like it very much! Beautiful sound.

  • Вы радушны!

  • i like your horn sound very very much. reminded me of the sound that led me to love horn so much.

  • Thany you very much. Since this first recording, I have been playing around with microphone placement (distance and direction) trying to capture some the magic of a hall or forest in my home. It's not easy. The horn sound is a reflected one.

  • Awesome, nice sound and first good mozart in audition!nice job, bravo!

  • Cheers mate. Dakujem. PS I used to play with someone from Bratislava (thirty years ago).

  • yes?and wher you played in bratislava?

  • My friend and colleague was solo horn in the Slowakische Philharmonie and it must have been in the sixties. Lovely chap and player.

  • Nice sound, could you remind me please how you do the trill "sol la sol" (G A G) (what fingers to use?) Thanks by advance !

  • Cheers. I used to use 1+3 on the G and 3 on the A on the Bflat side which is what I'd recommend for things in an orchestra, like in the second Act of Götterdämmerung. 1 then open also works. You can't do either very fast and they don't sound very pretty, but in an ensemble that's Ok because you don't want them faster than everone else and the crudeness is covered up by what's around you.

  • For solos like this, lip trills are preferred. If I'm using just a Bflat horn, I use 1+3 but that's not ideal since the interval is more than a whole tone which sometimes doesn't matter if the band covers it up. As this is just a bog standard double, and I'm a little "exposed" I was lip trilling on 1+2 on the F side, but you could also do it on 1+3 on the F side. BTW,for Mozart, I prefer starting on the upper note but a number of soloists begin on the lower note which I also find easier.

  • Agreed....GREAT sound!

  • I miss that sound!

And with an audition like this one, you're a shoe-in. :)
