Actually their not the same.

First of all the IPod's camera sucks!

It's .7 Mp compared to the iPhones 5.0Mp

Yes both record at 720p but the iPods is not legitament.

And spec wise their close but not quite.

Theoretically the IPhone is faster.

They have the same processor except Apple actually under clocks the iPod Processor down 200mhz ( iPod= 800mhz IPhone = 1Ghz)

Lastly the IPHONE HAS MORE RAM!

(In this video, the iPod has a washed out, faded look which exemplifies this). Not to mention the DAC in the iPhone 4 is superior to that of the iPod touch from what I've heard (Wolfson vs Cirrus Logic). Not to mention the camera on the 4 blows that of the iPod away in features and image quality.

It's obvious the iPod is faster. The iPhone uses too much system resources for the calling capabilities and stuff like that, whereas the iPod doesn't have to deal with that sort of things... That's why the iPod doesn't need 512mb of RAM, 256mb is enough for its features. The iPohne needs more RAM for making/receiving calls and/or text messages (3G Data), it would be like a useless brick with 256MB of RAM, whereas the iPod runs smoothly with that

I have an Ipod Touch. I have tried the Iphone 4. They are both great they are basically the same when i got it for xmas yesterday i felt like i was using an Iphone. I have Blackberry as a phone i still get confused with Iphone and Ipod touch. However great piece of kit and very addictive there is no difference between the 2.

Wowwww!!!!! This video got two things wrong within the first 30 seconds of the video!!!!! The iPhone has twice as much ram as the iPod touch (256 for the iPod 512 for the iPhone) and the iPhone has an IPS retina display (allowing for better viewing angles) while the iPod just has a retina display without IPS technology.
