These young musicians should be commended. At a young age and with great national pride they have boldly attempted a complex and challenging piece with the alacrity of seasoned professionals. Mr. Marjan Peternel and his compatriots should be honored. The small technical miscues are fully outweighed by the clear artistic achievement of such a fine orchestra. To all of them, I thank you for sharing this on Youtube. Where can we buy the CD?

Tanks to everybody for the comments, good or bad. It was a great concert, the energy was great, and the orchestra is a great youth orchestra that gives incredible concerts twice a year. Sorry for the screw-up in the fourth minute, it happens :) Be sure to check the newer recording I made with the Slovenian Police orchestra in april 2010. It has better audio quality.

@addressee This Orchestra has special charm. They sold out 1500 seats in 8 hours. Just listen Bolero or Capriccio Espagnol from my channel. In be honest. These kids are from 16 to 20. They are big stars in our country. We are not music school but ordinary state High School or Gymnasium, if you are from Europe.

God..that's a pretty small orchestra, isn't it? So few strings players..but not bad of a sound they produce!

I have to give huge credit to this youth orchestra for even trying to perform a difficult piece like Rhapsody in Blue. I'm sure George Gershwin would've been impressed with their solid effort.

Sorry to be critical however the melody in most of the orchestra parts weren't distinct and in my opinion exaggerated, not mentioning the mistakes. A good effort anyway.
