I saw Black Oak Arkansas with Jim Dandy several times back in the day but never thought of or imagined Dave as a clone. Dave was like Jim Dandy on steroids. BOA's song Hot and Nasty was huge. That album sort of captured the zeitgeist of the pot smoking hillbilly down South at that time. Wow, whole lot of teenage fucking in those days.
Even though VH didn't exist when this was video was done, they did not want it to be made. The company did not want to be sued and had to play it as safe, which meant no original VH music. While this limits the documentary there is still a ton of great stuff that has never turned up elsewhere, namely original bass player Mark Stone, as well as others who were close to the band and saw them in the earliest days. It's flawed but still essential for any hardcore VH fan.
Man, this is SO fucking cool to see!!! Mark Stone..super rare. And there's even a shot of an early flyer when they were called GENESIS. Huh? WTF? Wow...
Just tell the dude the song... music isn't about who knows more it's about sharing it.... "oh you think that's cool? Well it's whatever and if you like that than you'll like this as well."
Van Halen wasnt just eddie u stupid fuck, later he became the driving force, but before that they were like any other quartet...each brought a certain offering
Holy Jim Dandy sighting, Batman!

@BunnyProle One girl I know thinks that Van Halen is one person who's full name is Van Halen. She also thinks they're from the 60's.

I love that the band was once named the Trojan Rubber Company.Trojan rubbers came in handy on many a Van Halen tour.

Odd that they don't show one photo from Roth's childhood.
