man thats soooo good for 2800 bucks, i went to some local places near me and they wanted $5000 to strip, bodywork, and paint. My car is in good shape too, if u watch my vids the body is already real straight, might cross the border to Mighigan maybe cheaper in U.S. than Canada.
Yep some Maacos really suck because even though they are a franchise, each one is like independently operated. But the Maaco off of Riverside in Roseville does good work!
If you don't mind me asking, how much bodywork was done. I have a 66 that I want painted at Maaco, but all the body work is done and it's in primer. How much would this paintjob have cost if all you had to do was shoot it?
@Chrisgottschalk2 There wasn't a ton of bodywork needed, and car was rust free. They still spent about a week doing bodywork and block sanding the car, and the total cost of just labor was about $1000. So I'd say if you just had them spray it, they could do a nice basecoat/clear for no more than $1500.
$2800 is a steal for that job!.....people have no idea of the amount of work it takes to make a finish look like that.Nowadays Maaco is way ahead of most mainstream body shops when it comes to technology. Sure they can do less expensive work if the customer wants, but if you pay for top quality, they will give you top quality. Maaco is a franchise, and like most franchises, there are good and bad.Don't kid yourself,I've seen Maaco's in upstate NY and Canada who could compete with Chip Foose.
American Stripping Company in Sacramento. Cost to have it stripped was about $700 plus another $200 or so for the primer sealer to be sprayed on the bare metal.
They did a nice job, but $2800 ouch. Not bad though compared to what another shop would have charged plus i assuming there was a lot of bodywork done. I have a maaco paint video also, but its the 300 job and it still looks great. Kudos and nice mustang.
Thanks! I didn't really want to spend more than $2000 total for the paint and bodywork, but there ended up being a lot more old bodywork after it was media blasted to bare metal. Good thing though is it was rust free and didn't have any bad damage. Maaco spend 3 weeks on it, the first week just doing bodywork. It looks like your Sebring came out pretty good too.
