Technically he was never alive... so he couldn't die. He just faded back to the Farplane. Then the pyreflies of Bahamut worked with all of the pyreflies of the Farplane to create a more concrete Tidus. I love the ending! I just wish that the overall game was better. I understand the new factions being put in, and Paine is great, but LeBlanc wasn't necessary. The battle system is pretty good but WHY NO DRAGOON? the mascot abilities rock (except for Rikku's, so she's my awesome dark knight !!!!! )

Because, albeit it was a genius masterpiece, it was also horribly depressing, so level things up, they brought the sequel, which was terrificly fun to play. Yuna really shines on this one, and this happy ending, brought me and my wife tears of joy. :)

i really hate this ending. It ruined FFX's whole purpose of Tidus disappearing. It doesn't make sense either. Tidus couldn't have come back because the Fayth disappeared too!

This game just contradicts itself.

This game never should've existed, although it was fun to play. Only ending that's good is the sad ending, where Yuna goes to see Tidus at the farplane, but even THAT doesn't make sense because Tidus never died, he was just a dream.

It makes perfect sense. The fayth may have disappeared, but they still existed in the Farplane. To say thank you to Yuna, they used their remaining power to bring Tidus back.

The main purpose of FFX was to destroy Sin, not Tidus disappearing. He didn't find out he was going to disappear until nearly the end of the game. Both games were great! and both made perfect sense. I get your point, but I'm glad they made FF X-2.

You dont need 100% completion to see the Good ending. You have to do the whistle thing on the Farplane after you defeat Vegnagun, then when the Fayth asks you if you want to see "him", you select yes and then you view the good ending. However, the PERFECT ending that includes the extra scene of Tidus & Yuna at the Zanarkand Ruins requires 100% completion

no it does fit with the story. shuyin made the dark aeons evil and yuna stoped them and vegnagun so in the ending the fayth ask yuna if she wants to see him again and if you answer yes then they will recreate him. so it does fit in with the story:/

I have ALLL the games from every single one and I FOUND X-2 THE BEST its taken me like 3 years to beta all the games I love number 7 too its 3 disks but you would catch on easy if you got Final Fantasy X then Final Fantasy X-2

Then you'll be able to understand certain terms in X-2 such as "Fayth" or "Farplane" or even "Unsent". And your understand more and the storyline will come more at ease to you.

After Tidus Saved Spira from Sin. They Defeated Yu Yevon to stop Sin Born Again. and Tidus Sacrafice his self to Stop Sin from Destroying Spira. And Now Yuna Changed to Gunner because her Aeons are Possesed by Yu Yevon and suddenly Aeons are been returned to there places. and they not trust yuna because they ignored them.

Yes, to get this ending you must aquire a perfect 100% rating. Doing so and pressing X when Tidus whistles in The Farplane after the battle with Shuyin, and saying Yes to the Fayth, will trigger the "true" ending to FFX-2.
