Another great place to look is around Decatur, I grew up there and as a child I would find more than any one person could carry away from certain locations around Wise County.
Could you tell me where these areas are? I'm in North Richland Hills so I'm very close to Forth Worth area. I'm a Pre-k teacher needing fossils for my class and would also like to take my 2 children fossil hunting.
Luv this vid! It is amazing how abundant the fossils are in your area! Especially like the Nautilus and Echinoid! You are lucky! I spent 2 weeks in your area with some success (thanks for your comments on my vids) but like most fossil hunters, I am always wondering what else is there to find. Maybe my next trip down there we can hook up?
Dude--you should come up to Austin and go out looking with me. We have entire beds of those oysters and today I found an almost perfectly preserved ammonite (nautilus) that is over a foot wide. I sneak into a quarry that nobody knows about! I also recently found a Pleistocene mammal skeleton in Onion Creek (not excavated yet) and a fossilized tree stump that according to two different UT paleontologists "shouldn't be here." I am having the time of my life fossil hunting!
Where would be a good place to go to look for fossils, exactly? I just moved to Ft. Worth and my father is coming to visit from CA soon... I know he'd love to do something like this.
Thanks for posting the fossil videos .I think Ive seen concentrations( many in 1 rock) of those oysters in our museum .Check out my fossil videos ! Write me if you want to trade any by mail !

FossilJamie just gave me the tip that if you add '&fmt=18' to the end of the URL it improves the picture quality.
