We need more men likje raz al ghul in the lives of men. I don't agree with everything about him but he is a wonderful initiator. Men have lost that and we need to get that back.
Bravo!!! Now why didn't Liam neeson (George Lucas) model Qui-gon after Ra's. thats how the rouge jedi should have trained Obi-wan and then Anakin, and that is why he was not seated in the council. they should have explored Qui-gons skils and rage and plant the seeds for anakin's downfall.
It translated quite clearly to many of the veiwers but obviously art is nothing if not subjective. As another batman fan perhaps my perspective is naturally slanted towards the desire for the more calculated batman who's skills revolve around combat and strategy while he depends on others for their expertise (I.E. mechanics) as opposed to the idea that one man would be a master of everything.
Of course what i speak of is also portrayed in the comics depending on which arcs we would reference.
I disagree with most of that statement. The journey into what bruce wayne lost and how he had to learn the true nature of crime and loss leading to the advanced training and concept of symbol being more powerful than a man was essential to the concept of puting on a suit. Where you are looking for insanity as the source of this batman you are missing the idea that it is a strategy. the "smarts" is right there in front of us.
the greatest weapon known to man has always been forgiveness and love...men have forgotten this and we have become obsessed with concepts of ability in the physical realm and of making ourselves gods for fragments of time and then being forgotten. the greatest of mankind are always remembered for their love...not for their ability to catalyze destruction of the soul and body.
well, the Joker's mind really isn't that complicated. As Alfred says, he "just wants to watch the world burn." He's got no really motive. So, he's not complicated. But he was definitely wrong about him "thriving on the indulgence of society's understanding"
Finally, I see people revisiting Begins' premises in the aftermath of The Joker. I felt like Dukhard was having a jolly laugh at it all as I felt many of his points were made in the ease that the joker was to compromise a corrupted society (though the ferrie scene was an adequate rebuttal to that common theme of BOTH positions).
How joker would have delt with LOS would be interesting, as they are polar opposites (recall jokers' hatred of organization, which LOS embodies) yrt operate similarly.
So because the officials were corrupt (conservatives have a respect for elitist authority bordering on fellatio, so I'd think you could relate to them), even the innocents in the city deserve death? You seem to be missing the point, but I guess I wouldn't expect much more from someone who says "nuff said." Do you get your talking points from Michael Savage? This is a matter of individualism versus collectivism, and I thought American conservatives supported the former. Guess I was wrong.
Hatchyack has this down perfectly...it's about individualism vs. collectivism, not false dichotomy party politics. Ra's Al Ghul thought "true justice" was destroying an entire city, but he missed the important point that TRUE justice is dealt on an individual basis. Many in Gotham are corrupt, just like in our world ($700 billion bailout ring a bell?), but not every man, woman, and child is corrupt or evil, and not all deserve the fate Ra's had planned for them. Bruce Wayne recognized this.
They wanted to murder an entire city's population because of its "moral decadence." I guess conservatives are collectivist fucks, huh? Ends justify the means, you piece of shit?

Ra´s Al Ghul is very wise man. He thinks the way I do. I am more similar to him than to Bruce (if I had to compare myself to one of them).

'The will to act is eveything' so true, you could have all the training in the world but if you are afraid to act your useless.

one: this came years after The Phantom Menace
two: Ra's Al Ghul is a villian
three: a rouge jedi is a jedi who trained himself, Qui-gon had Dooku as a master.

I love the line 'Criminals thrive on the indulgence of society's understanding'
I also like how what he was taught 'the criminal mind is not a complicated one'
comes back to bite him in the ass in the second one when he meets Joker.
