    the actual story

  • @vdenise Thanx much!

  • how are you my friend ? 5 stars always

  • I'm ok. Thanks. You wont believe this, but someone on youtube tried to shut this film down because I used at the begining some misic from Hans Zimmer. Didi they wonder what I went through to get answere from universal for use as a student film? There are stupid people out there.

Anyway, I;m glad some people still enjoy this film.

  • yea,i know what you are saying...also i had some troubles with some videos because of music...that's why in generally i put my own.

    peace

  • Legend has Bucephalus growing vestigial toes alonside the hooves, as did earlier species of Hippos, making him a genetic rarity.

  • Your film is gorgeous, I can't imagine how much time it took you. I'm making a horse animation myself atm.

But bucephalus was not Arabian. Historians speculate he's akal-teke. But I can't complain. Arabs are my favorite breed and your drawings are fantastic.

  • Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. True there is no exact record of the breed that Bucephalus was, only that he was brought by a thasssalonian breeder to king Philip. It is speculated that the stallion was brought from the east, in what was the persian empire. Could have been akal-teke or arabian. Some ancient coins from the period depict horses of arabian type, so I went with that and my admiration for the breed.

  • actually he was a greek breed " thesaliko " thsesalika horses were& still are a greek breed which according to the myth they were descendants of the diomides horses which was one of the 12 labors of hercules , to capture and take these horses to back to king evristheas.

thesalika have short but muscle and strong bodies and a huge neck and head

  • i am so glad you made this video!!! i love horses and have been drawing them since i first held a pencil, and i hope that i can be as amazing as you!!!

  • alex great stuff.

ive said before and ill say it again

    love the film!

  • Nice animation with nice music :) 5 rating.

  • 1) Macedonians belong to the "older" Mediterranean substratum

    2) Macedonians are not related with geographically close Greeks, who do not belong to the "older" Mediterranenan substratum,

    3) Greeks are found to have a substantial relatedness to sub-Saharan (Ethiopian) people, which separate them from other Mediterranean groups....

  • I completely agree with you my friend.

  • my friend-how are you?

  • Nice.

  • you know i love it!hahahahah...thanks!

  • I thought I recognized that film. I haven't seen it in years! Very nice!

  • Oh my Zeus, this is awesome. Tragic and touching and beautiful in a way that only emphasizes the saddness. I cried.

  • wow dude, wasnt you the guy that gave me fatality in conquer?

  • Just excellent, congratulations.

  • Ok. You are correct. It is Greek. Vous: Bull and Cephali: head.

  • Boucephalas. Do you know the meaning of the name?

  • Bucephalus, is actualy a latin pronounciation. It comes from bou kapfal, It refers to bull head, bull headed. There is another version I heard about, but this one makes sence. In my language, Romania, which is an original Balkan labgauge, bou kap means exactly bull's head.

  • The Latin alphabet is based on the Greek and is a language with Greek influence (made after the Greek and takes a lot of words from the Greek)

I suppose that Romanian language also have Latin influence right?

Bucephalus genuinely derived from the Hellenic (Greek) compound term

    Bucephalas Word element (Bu=ox) -- (cephala= head)

    Thanks

  • Yes, well the origen of langauges is complex, however , latin originates from balkan Macdonian-Thracian languages, then returned influence from The Romans. Its realy hard to find actual origen of names with so many influences. But this word, or actually phrase, is not latin bases. Bou-Kap-alus, "the bulls head", or maybe "bullheaded".

  • dude, that was amazing. Im in a metal band named after that magnificent steed and iv just finished reading the valerio massimo manfredi series of alexander and can relate to this film. I think uv dun amzingly. Is all the artwork dun by yourself?

  • Thanks alot. I like the Mafredi books aswell.

  • This is definitely one of the most emotional animated films I've ever seen. Thanks for posting it. :)

  • Thanks, glad you liked it.
