  • I was looking through some old magazines last night and found one from 1975 with Mr. Paul Boesch's original Houston mailing label. I don't remember how I got it but believe it was given to me back in the 70's.

  • This is like ole Ted Dibiase when he came to WWF....."PRICELESS" !!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for posting. I remembered the names of ALL theses wrestlers except for just a couple of them......

  • The wrestler at 2:40 looks like John Kerry.

  • >>>....another great old video........man it was so fun to see live wrestling at the coliseum when I was a little youngster.........

  • I miss this stuff!!! I watched it every Saturday night and Sunday morning!!! This was awesome to see again!!! Brings back so many memories.

  • Sam Houston Coliseum I remember that back in the 80's.

  • haha! mattress mack at :10

  • Nice to see Channel 39 respecting its history in airing wrestling, not treating it like they were embarrassed to air it. Thats a testament to Paul Boesch!

  • I wish they made a dvd of the freebirds.the greatest heel team ever other than the 4 horsemen.

  • Who is that at 0:24?

  • @wms601 I think it was the guy that was Slick in the WWF. I don't know what his real name is, though.

  • when you were interviewed by pual boesch, you knew you had "made it" surely the best, repeat, best promoter ever and the houston wrestleing show was easily in the top 3 ever and argueably the best, not even a discussion about it, its a fact. kudos to you mr. boesch, a stich in time that cant be duplicated. its not how much dough you spend on this and that, its letting the fighters be themselves, thats the whole key

  • Now...this tribute is TIGHT...I love it....they don't do 'em like this anymore...and RIP, Skandor Akbar, JYD & Gary Hart...I love this.

  • @shydmples i believe skandor is still alive and kicking and srtill in the wrestling bussiness today

  • @ShreveportConnection No, actually, he died on 8/19/10 at 75...his real name was Jim Whebbe...but don't get me wrong...he was bad, though...lol

  • @shydmples so whio is still playing hios part niowe as they told me they seen him a few weeks ago with a company and a stable like he had in wccw that is skandor akbar not paul bosche but my condolences either way to both families

  • @ShreveportConnection Honestly...I don't know who is playing Akbar....because I no longer watch wrestling...it was better in the 70s & 80s....lol.....but as for Akbar, I think he died from Prostate Cancer.

  • @shydmples ok i searched and fopund he did iondeed passed away this year:

On August 19, 2010 it was reported that Wehba had passed away. The cause of the death is currently unknown. However, fellow wrestling manager Percy Pringle speculates that it may have been prostate cancer. thew cause was not still yet known he died at 75 years of age

  • skander akbar was the best.

  • If IW Marks can make my ears look pretty think oyu what they can do for yours

  • Anyone know the old song they used to play at the opening of Houston Wrestling? i remember they would show wrestlers in slow motion then they would freeze frame them.

  • I always felt for Houston Wrestling's soundman. Hope he was well-compensated for all those years of wearing the headphones as one sweaty meatwagon after another grabbed Paul's mic and yelled "LISTEN, BOESCH ..."

  • Paul Boesch raised me on wresteling! Ever since I could remember maybe as early as 1972 we would get up every Sunday morning and watch Houston Wrestleing. I really became a fan after the first time he introduced Andre The Gian, and narrated one segment as Andre was tossing off these little Jobbers "Andre The Giant, the biggest, strongest man on earth!". I have somwhere on VHS a classic LAST MATCH of Paul Boesch. I hope to find it.

  • He was also one of the Glenbrook Valley Gang!

  • Wow, there are a lot of familiar faces in this video.

  • Paul Boesch beats the SHIT out of Vince McMahon ANY DAY!

    Suck It WWE!

  • The Sam HOuston Coliseum was crazy when wrestling was there.

  • Grew up in his old house my parents bought he gave us tickets to a match when i was four and sat ringside with Mr. Boesch and his Lovely Wife,

  • paul had his JW marks commercial with his big ass diamond ring lol

  • Great stuff--growing up as a Mid-South/UWF fan, I always wished I could've been able to watch Boesch's show to help flesh out what was going on. Any chance of showing that battle royal in real time?

  • i watched this every sat. 10 pm till midnite and again sun 10 am till noon. shook paul's hand once. if you were not lucky enough to have watched this you wouldnt get the diamnod guy, too bad for you

  • i also always watched on sat afterwards they would usually show scary movies i still kinda remember the intro

  • I HAD to Google this!! I was cleaning around the house and found 3 of my ticket stubs from when i lived in Texas and went to some of these shows. I remember a Dog Collar Match between JYD and Hacksaw Butch Reed! WOW.

  • WTF random diamond guy??

    Great video though, favorited.

  • Random diamond guy.... that was IW Marks, the Houston legend! He was the one that supplied the diamond earrings for Boesch's infamous commercial.

  • KHTV Channel 39!

  • a lot of talent came through houston. They were even on USA until Vince bought his time slot.

At one time they were on teh same level as any other promotion.

  • is he dead

  • Yes RIP

  • Where are the tapes of Houston Wrestling? They have to be worth SO much.

  • I just want to see the opening credits of Houston Championship Wrestling!

  • 39 online, you've done a remarkable job! I'm tired of hearing about WCCW!

  • Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't KHTV-TV39 also Houston's home for either the original Roller Derby, owned by Jerry Seltzer, and/or RD's main rival Roller Games? If TV39 did carry Roller Games, doesn't that also mean you guys got to see Texas Outlaws home games back in the 60's?

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT!

I can remember watching wonderful Houston Wrestling on KTRH39. WOW. What memories! Cannot BELIEVE the INCREDIBLE talent shown in this FAR too short clip.

To the Bosch family: PLEASE release ALL of the Paul Bosch collection on DVD! I cannot even relate what a huge part of my childhood was framed by the wonderful Paul Bosch. For SO much of ALL our lives in the Houston area and for ALL regional wrestling: PLEASE!!!!

  • As long as Vince doesn't get his hands on it.

  • why dont put some of this on dvd

  • this brings back memories, this video brings a smile to my face and a tear to my eye as i remember my dad (who now passed away)and i watching wrestling thanks for the memories

  • the man with the cauliflower ears. i loved to watch houston wrestling, johnny valentine, mil mascaras, the von ericks, wahoo mcdaniel, killer kowalski, andre the giant, bull ramos, the funk brothers, ivan putsky. nothing better!

  • thanks for the video, bring back memories from when i use to watch wrestling and mr. boesch on tv every Saturday when I was a kid. Nice, simpler times ; I even remember the I.W. Marks Jewlers commercials that would run during it.

  • I lived in Houston from 1980 to 2004 and really enjoyed Ch. 39 wrestling and Paul Boesch. Always entertaining and simple, just wrestling and not all the glitz like today. I miss the quality back then..

  • 39online, can you try to find the Butch Reed vs JYD fight. The loser gets painted yellow Match. If there any way to order some of these old tapes let me know. See if you can did up Wahoo Mcdaniel vs Harley Race as well . Thanks

  • All wrestling matches that aired are property of the Boesch family or wwf. We have no rights to publish them. Thanks for stopping by to watch our videos.

  • Who owns the Houston video library? This footage is priceless.

  • This is owned by the Boesch family. Thanks for stopping by to watch and comment.

  • I wish I was in houston at the time this came out! What blockbuster cards and talent!

  • Paul Boesch and Houston Wrestling had the best wrestling ever. I stayed home every Satruday night so I could watch that when I was growing up.

Now? I'd rather shovel manure than watch WWE.

  • I never got to watch Paul Boesch's promotion back in the day. It's a shame. I missed out. Will pro wrestling ever be this good again?

  • i Grew up in Paul old house in Houston. He lived by broadway and bellfort and during christmas put up this huge wrestling displays classic.

  • I loved this video!!! Paul Boesch hosted and promoted some incredible wrestling talents and it has been difficult to find video on him. Hats off to 39 Online!!! The Battle Royal in the second half of this video was one of the first of it's type in the industry.

  • Thanks for checking out our vintage video. We'll keep'em coming ;-)

  • Does anyone have more footage from houston wrestling???
