  • @watsap100 really the free world thing? im really disapointed in you! ill give u one more chance to get a good comeback and if its shit again ill kick you offline!:)

  • @STaTiCBLuRz Kick me offline?OH I AM SO SCARED OF A NAGY LITTLE BITCH TELLING ME WHAT TO DO.SO SCARY!

  • that was fun

  • It's cool!

  • you have to try swimming in coins like skrooge

  • I started with watching air rifle videos..

  • If he was covered in snow, then the dog wouldn't have smelled him underneath. The dog smelled anything close to that area, because there was a lot of human activity before burying him; the cameramen were around there, everyone else. So theoretically, if there were to be an avalanche (with less activity) then it's less likely the dog would find him. The test should be done with some scented dummy that you can actually place in an artificial avalanche.

  • @metubegirl69er dude.. those rescue dogs are trained to find people in avalanches.. i was on a ski team and we did avalanche training.. we had a dog that found both groups under the snow within 2 minutes.. she had been trained for 2 years... not 8... plus they're buried deep enough you can't hear them..

  • FIFTEEN MINUTE ADVERT o_o

    Fucking Religious nutjobs!

  • Comment removed by Chuck Norris.

  • by the time the dog gets there, he's dead

  • my daughter just done this as here science project

  • 2:18 That ball of snow destroyed a city above the mountain!!!

  • @croaket get fucked.

  • @croaket Should have chucked Bieber in that hole but left him there, infact it was probably him that did those 17 dislikes! I think this video is a good time to voice my opinion on the french, they're twats. Thumbs up if you agree! In USA you watch youtube, In Soviet Russia youtube watches YOU!

    That do ya?

  • @MegaMagicDeluxe In Soviet Russia, Video dislikes 17 accounts made by Justin Bieber!! Please Give Thumbs Ups!! I just blew through rules I-VI

  • he was walking all arounf the site before being "traped" what they need to do is cause one and have buster holding something then seeing if a dog can find that

  • 0:01

  • stupid test... the dog could smell human odor because he walked into the hole...

in a real avalanche the snow falls on you and you don't get to touch the snow on your way in and leave your odor behind for the dog to sniff.

  • imagine if a avalancche happened when he was buried by accident

  • @NarutoFTW lol

  • Sterbie Cameo! Yes! The avalanche specialist is my uncle.

  • its kind of stupid, they put hes smell all over the place where he is. not as it would be in a real avalanche

  • You wouldnt be just under 5 to maybe a 1ft of snow more like a several yards or more under the snow

  • he walked on the surface of the snow leaving his scent so of course the dog found him - not to mention the scent of everyone else that helped bury him there

  • @mateochristiandante yah but in the snow scents die more quickly he would have to have been buried ten minutes before the dog found him.

  • @mateochristiandante Thats what i was thinking.

  • imagine if the dog went and peed on a tree instead of finding him.

  • That wasn't a great test. The dog probably smelled both Adam's and Creg's scent. They were standing there for a while.

  • 2:17 the egg has hatched

  • i thought a test dummy would be buried

  • @CAZZERNERY no a test dummy wouldnt have a human scent

  • Rhere is a problem with this experiment, they left an air hole you can see it at 2:08 just before the dog finds him.

  • Isn't it so that the dog can actually smell everything that Adam left on top of the snow when he crawled into the snow? I mean, a real avalanche would cover all of that, wouldn't it? In any real situation the dog would have to actually smell what's burried beneath the snow, which is an entirely different thing. Im not saying they cant, I just think this testing method should be busted ;-)

  • @rosskennedytv Dogs can smell a gun that is in a plastic bag, i've seen it live. A normal gun, in a plastic bag, hiddend in the roof tile. the dog founded it.

  • the problem with the execution of this myth is that jamie walked on top of the avalanche, leaving his skin particles on the top of the snow as another webisode stated happens

  • I've done this with my grandmother's dog many years ago when I was young. I would hide in a fridge when the dog was outside, then they would let the dog in and see if it could find me. Took the dog little time to figure out I was in the fridge.

  • @WeedPatch71

You know that you could asphyxiate in the fridge?

NEVER EVER HIDE IN A FRIDGE!

Epically when it is turned on.

  • @TheFamine123 Yep, this I know, we didn't actually close the fridge all the way though :)

  • @TheFamine123 asphyxiate?? what that? sorry idk what it means

  • @jackp4298 It means you run out of oxygen to your brain and you die.

  • wow, this was sort of cheap. the dog could follow where he had walked into the patch of snow. at least trigger a real avalanche on him....

    cmon mythbusters.

  • "That was FUN! HHA HA " XD

  • @133aaron lol,I watched this when I was younger as well. But whenever any other kid see me watching this, they call me a nerd.... :P

  • @Mrjp502 Do you know any kids that watch Discovery channel?NONE.All they watch are cartoons and disney channel...ok I am a kid...teenager acutally, but all kids say when they do see this is,"This is boring!" :P

  • @TheHellbino i watched this as a kid :( NO im not a nerd i like watching them blow up the myth more thoe

  • This is very inaccurate... If someone was really in an avalanche they would be buried much deeper than this. Covered by hundreds of pounds of snow. In a real life situation the chances of a dog finding you are slim to none... and slim just left town.

  • @PatronSaint210 Not true. The avalanche doesn't allways bury a body at its lowest point. In fact, you can be at any height of the avalanche after it stopped. Knowing what to do also can help you create a tiny hollow for air supply. Also dogs are mainly used to pinpoint a smaller searching area for the poles instead of probing the whole avalanche from ground to top.

Still even with all this, chances of getting found in Time are very very slim.

  • hmm.. wouldn't there be a ton more snow on top of you if there was a real avalanche?

  • apart from the guys who burried him left a scent trail...

  • the dog can hear the dumb ass talking

  • @metubegirl69er Exactly.

  • @metubegirl69er duh the dog can hear him if u were under an avelaganch dont u think u would be screaming help instead of talk?!?!?! duh and he is not dumb idiot.

  • @CowGal1000

considering i'd probably have a limited oxygen supply, no.

  • lol!!! true

  • @metubegirl69er If im traped in an avalanch and i hear someone above me, I would yell. Your saying you would fall silent?

  • @usernamen0tfound the test is for the dog , most of the time ppl are passed out and not making noise,, and a true test would be a sniff test, but no,, this dumb ass is talking, fing up the test,, so what's good is it,,

    duh

  • @metubegirl69er well, they said, 15 minuits of air, when you stop receiveing air, it's... i think 5 minuits before your dead

  • @metubegirl69er even if ur buried under like an inch of snow its really hard to hear u if u scream. so basically under a foot or more? dont waste ur breath

  • @metubegirl69er no they smell they dont pay attention to talking only if its their name or a command

  • @maryisthebestever don't pay attention to talking? WHAT ABOUT SOUND, the test is for smell obviously , but in a worse case scenario, there would not be sound only smell, which this test fails.

  • @metubegirl69er Him talking and the dog going to find him were different shots. They weren't going on at the same time like the video makes it look.

  • @metubegirl69er Would you not be shouting for help if you were buried in an avalanche?

  • @TigerWXu this is for the worst case scenario , a person unconscious would not scream, the dog would not wait for you to make a sound to find you,

  • guys...its just a show for kids....calm down

  • its a good start on finding someone

im sure the dog may at least be able to say hes in this area even wen hes covered 10ft

  • i like cheese

  • yeah keep in mind most avalanches are better then 20 ft

  • I'm wondering if the dog was able to smell the sent of the ski patrol who buried him, or was it the scent of Adam? Myth better tested in virgin snow!

  • also if u get buried by an avalanche you would definitely not be found within in 15 minutes and adam said he only had 15 minutes worth of oxyegen so in real life ur toast

  • While I'm sure they kept safety in mind for this one, this can't be considered authentic as in the case of an avalanche it's likely you would be burried under 10 feet of snow and not in a nice little dug-out. So this is far from "confirmed..."

  • plus you dont have that much space with air arround you which makes sensing the person even more difficult for a dog.

  • That nice little dug out is like every other dug out that skiers/snowboarders/hikers and whatnot usually survive in.

  • @supergiff8 If an avalanche falls on top of you then you're not going to have time to create a dug out, let alone move your limbs.

  • Hikers usually use the snow to make dug outs idiot, so they are bound to survive.

  • @supergiff8 You obviously don't understand the concept of an avalanche. THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOMEONE GETTING LOST AND SOMEONE BEING BURRIED ALIVE BY AN AVALANCHE OF 10+ FEET OF SNOW. YOU ARE RETARDED.

  • You mad bro? I never said they were lost, some people who hike in the snow build these burrows like these, and usually if there is an avalanche, the burrow is big enough to supply air until they are able to climb out. Also, you don't understand the concept of making a burrow WHILE under the snow, it's kind of easy to do you know, if you have proper tools that you should always have while snow hiking.

  • @supergiff8 You obviously haven't studied physics if you think human beings are capable of resisting thousands of pounds of snow in one compact cubit area by using "proper tools."

  • Who said they were going against it, you have to go down to make a burrow, will you still not read what I am saying here idiot. I am done, you are wrong, you have been blocked. Good day to you sir. Please learn from your mistakes.

  • @supergiff8 Going against what you dumb ass? If two tons of snow fall ontop of you and you're being forced down whilst attempting to resist the mass of the snow you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MOVE!!!! You obviously don't know how to read, let alone comprehend what is being said here. So go ahead, ignore me and do me a favor, dip shit.

  • @Salieri325

    oh just shut up

  • @MrGaberthegamer No you shut up, bitch.

  • you're a moron.

  • i tought he was going to loose a avalanche himself xD

  • iv tried sending in a mith, but i cant figure it out, and i dont know adam's, jamie's, grant's, torey'sor carie's email adress. but i hav 3 myths: MYTH1; if wet hair is frozen, can you brake/shatter it? MYTH2; when a field post light is hit w/ a homerun ball, will it explode/shower sparks like in that 1 baseball movie. and finally MYTH3; is it posible to hit the skin off of a baseball.

PS: i Really hope be chance 1 of the mythbusters team might just read this. if you do, plz send me a message

  • i think they already tried the skin off a baseball myth. i don't remember if it worked or not, but i think that they did do this already.

  • i think it was confirmed.. cant remember

  • Adam, you are my HERO!

    BRAVE MAN! WELL DONE!

  • He also had a camera down thaere with him.

  • I thought they were gona put him in a real avalanche

  • buried in the snow alive and all you can say is: "that was fun"? . . . . . . .cool

  • I wouldn't exactly call that buried...

  • we know dogs can find people buried. thats what we have dogs doing this for. They are very capable.

And yes, We know this test was ungodly simple but, they really dont want to do a real test and put someones live in real jeopardy for a test

That would be stupid to cause a real Avalanche and bury someone under 10 or 20 feet of snow.

Sure, sooner or later the dog would find him, but would he be alive?

  • What they can do And what they normally do, Use the dummy. All you have to do is coat him in a certain smell. Since they already know how long someone can survive under the snow, all they have to do is see if the dummy is found in the amount of time.

  • This is pretty stupid. If they had caused an actual avalanche with him under it it would've been a better test. They had people walking all around the hole and standing on it not even 5 minutes before they let the dog out. It was way too easy.

  • lol how about we put you in a real avalanche

  • WOOT! GO SKI PATROL!!! :D

  • Wow. You really like skiing apparently.

  • @fallenjdm I'm on the National Ski Patrol. And yes, I love skiing, if I could find a ski hill open 24/7, I'd ski all day and all night for about 50 hours before going to bed.

  • well its much easier since there was an opening for the dog to get a scent. if he was buried 6 ft under, it would probably be harder

  • A rescue dog can most definitely find someone in an Avy. The dog found my buddy after he had been buried for 24 hrs. Although, he was deceased by that time.

  • I agree. I had a mate buried under 35 feet of snow after an avalanche and the dog still found him. But I had to send in another dog to find the first one.

  • imagine if the dog actually found a different person in the avalanche...

  • @SoulReaper3397 LAWL >_> xD

  • @SoulReaper3397 Lol, that would suck.....

  • @junnie2323 how would it suck the different person would be like yays! ;P

  • @SoulReaper3397 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :|

  • that's stupid, he walked to the place where he was buried. He walked around the place and stood next to the hole for a while. Sure the god found him without any problem. Although, I do not argue that dogs cannot find people buried in avalanche, just pointing out clear failures in their Scientific method.

  • true if he was really deep...

  • I did not like that, they should do it over but this time use a stinky shirt and really burry it in an avalanche. I know dogs can find people. St. Bernards were first used in the 1800's but not used anymore. The main breed was mostly killed off from Alpine rescues. So they cross bread to save the kind.

  • Regardless of the covering of the scent, do you really think dogs don't work? Why would they continue to use rescue dogs like this if they never found anyone and if they have found someone, then obviously they work.

??? Why even ask this question.

  • The type of dog also matters, for instance a bloodhound has alot better sense of smell than a german shepherd or as in this case, a labrador.

  • except he was buried about one foot deep, recently, and by another person. dog could have easily smelled the recent activity up top. people buried in most avalanches would be a lot deeper. the dog's good for digging out the top layer of survivors i guess.

  • damn i thought they were actually guna release an avelanche on him

  • lol

  • @Spamshiner12 That would be awesome. I like your thiking :)

  • @Spamshiner12 but then we wont have adam.

weeeeeelll all in the name ofscience!!!(:

  • @Spamshiner12 hah.. he would definitely die. those run for miles... and 15 minutes of air opposed to miles of snow to uncover.. thats impossible.

  • @Spamshiner12

They actually would have to do that to find out anything of value. The way they do it they cover the top of the avalanche with traces. But in a real avalanche all traces would be covered with snow.

  • that advertisment they play before some videos on youtube.

  • SICK

  • i hate this advertisment shit.....I dont wanna see two bitches eating a sandwich!!

  • @666BrothaLynch

    what ads?

  • yea but thats what pays for youtube for us to enjoy it for free

  • if you press f5. it will go away

  • Hmm. I think this is an unfair test because in the bloodhound one it said it tracks him using skins cells on the groud and he'd been stood on the ground before he got in?

  • I was thinking the same thing, they didn't do anything to cover the sent from before.

  • did he say my ass is cold

  • @TheBobLives well thats great because you die in 15 :L

  • lol that is so fail ._. ive done that . i dug a deep hole in the snow and got it covered up.. you cant call that an avalanche....

  • how does this prove anything old snow old dog and cracks in the ice i could properly find him with a spear

  • If you are caught in an avalanche, before you start digging your way out, spit. Gravity will show you what way is down. If your caught in one you dont know if your upside down or what ;p

  • Well, your inner ear stile determines if you are tilting slightly, so yes, you can easily tell.

  • are you ok?

  • man if u get stuck in snow all u have to do is pee it will melt it in now time

  • Well, considering the fact that being buried involuntarily meant that you're stuck in there with only the option to breathe, you piss, the only place where the snow melts is well, at your crotch. Not gonna help a lot when that happens.

  • but what if you were facing upside down towards the sky? then when you peed it'd get all over yourself. There is a method though, that you spit so you know which way is up (judging on which way your spit falls, because of gravity).

  • I'd laugh if the dog pissed on him to make him "warmer"

  • nickbownz: Buster in a controled avalanche would have been a much better test. Right on!

-The talking makes sence because a regular person would yell until they ran out of air and died. A smart person would be wearing one of those beacons and just sit tight, dog or no dog.

  • bet he was happy to ge tout of there

man I would be so clostrophobic

  • This doesnt really simulate a real avalanche, which covers a vast surface area under new, untreaded snow. The entire surrounding area around his 'cave' was covered in his scent, making him easy to find. Had he actually been caught in an avalanche, it would've covered all the ground he was on probably masked the scent. It was too flawed of a test to tell if the myth is busted or not

  • thats what i was thinking the whole time

  • i find your comment... really really true

  • mythbusters is bad if you seen the phone book car one that was a thin ass phonebook plus they thought they busted the myth even though they didnt

  • I know right? I was thinking that for sure they were going to trigger an avalanche over his little hiding place or whatever, what a let down. I was hoping they were covering buster in meat and then putting him in a REAL avalanche.

  • exactly what i was thinking, also....nope you covered everything lol

  • Nice comment! :)
