  • "one's goin east, the other one's goin west, so what?"

    I fuckin love this woman!

  • "And this guy's sayin', what do you want from me?"

LOL! Joe Pesci is the fucking mna!

  • the entire time there's a bloodied half conscious man in their trunk

  • @kingpin8393 i did exactly the same. XD

  • just found out the actress is Martin Scorcese's mother! :)

  • No way all of the dialogue is improvised. I call shenanigans.

  • @krzykris look at whos at the table and tell me you truly dont believe it

  • Watching Martin S. on Jimmy Kimmel right now. Had to come watch this when I found out it's his mom and that this scene's dialogue was improvised!

  • @kingpin8393 Same here... :)

  • @kingpin8393 just watched that too, doing the same thing. Can't believe this is completely unscripted.

  • What the hell are they using the ketchup for??????? There's no ketchup in an italian meal.

  • @psperanza was thinking the same thing...

  • @psperanza in the book Wiseguys, Jimmy Burke was known to have a love of ketchup. He put it on everything. De Niro was channeling the guy in this scene

  • @psperanza get the hell outta hea ketchup on eggs and potatos?

  • Tommy looks almost angry at Henry for not talking to his mother. Not sure if it's my imagination or scene was intended this way.

  • The mother is so sweet..

  • this, truly, is mastery film-making - dark, hilarious and intense.

  • My favorite part of the whole movie is at 1:40 when DeNiro says his "delicious" thing. It's so earnest and he seems completely oblivious to anything they just did or what they have to do after they leave. He is just REALLY enjoying some fine homemade spaghetti. I don't know why, just a personal thing I guess, but I absolutely love that part.

  • favourite part is when they make fun of billy batts at the end LOL

  • The paw whadda call it? The hoof is stuck in the radiator. LOL

  • One dog goes one way, the other dog goes the other way, and this guy's sayin', " Whadda ya want from me?

  • Ah, I love this scene:)

  • why dont you post it w/o that pixelated shit at the beginning?

  • @Merely The video I had didn't have that pixelated shit at the beginning. The upload process 4 years ago did that. Youtube's fault, not mine. And I think if I update the video with a new one I will get it taken down.

  • @ini88 good enuff dawg.

  • lol best part is at 1:53 when tommy kisses his mom and her laugh is so cute

  • she just so happened to have the picture by her feet....lol

  • tommy was a cold stone killer....

  • Comment removed

  • Billy Batts disliked this video 3 times

  • dinner looks yummy

  • I like this one... One dog goes one way, the other dog goes the other way, and this guy's sayin', "Whadda ya want from me?"

  • The funny thing is, that old lady is actually Martin Scorsese's mom!

  • I like this one, one dog goes this way the othaa dog goes the othaaa lmaooo

  • lmfao robert face at 1:23 lmao the guys face kills me sometimes lmao

  • oz

  • Martin Scorsese's got his mom's nose.

  • Thats Scorsesse's mum

  • @Nanotech92 Mama Scorsese!

  • The fucking picture "One dog goes this way, one dog goes that way" "It looks like somebody we know?" "Omg Its him without the beard" too funny

  • "cornuto...e contento" betrayed but happy = jerk

  • Delicious. Delicious

  • "Ma ive been workin nights" hahahah

  • 'and this guy is like, "whatdaya want from me?"'

  • The huff

  • the paw , whadda you call it - "the hoof" lmao

  • this is Martin Scorsese's mother :)

  • @HomogeneousEurope

Yeah...Catherine Latino, she was a mother to another gangster in casino aswell.

    to bad she's dead =(

  • "Da hoof."

    "Ma, it's a sin."

  • I don't believe it was intentional, but Tommy completely dissed Henry with the "cornuto contente" remark. Henry should have got him back by saying, "you know something Tommy? You're a real funny guy".

  • ahahhaahhah this is soooooo funny!

"looks like somebody we know" hahhahahah!

  • I love you ma... i wanna be wich you LOL!

  • I didn't get what Joe Pesci says in italian...anyone?

  • @Lizka88

    He said 'Cornuto contento'

  • I heard this entire scene was UNSCRIPTED and IMPROVISED by the actors.

    Nice!

  • Love this move. Superb dialog.

  • Comment removed

  • totally improvised. astounding

  • That mother knew exactly what her son was doing all of those years.

  • Hoof.

  • 3 people thought, in Italian, this would be much nicer.

  • Comment removed

  • Why dont ya settle down?!

  • I get a nice one almost every nite ma!

  • Delicious! Delicious!

  • pasta and ketchup

  • What a cast..goes without saying the goodfellas are amazing but that mother..wow

  • i love scorsese mother

  • She reminds me of my mother

  • This scene is a fucking masterpiece of cinema. Period.

  • @Varangian1915 you are right.....excellence in acting, directing and editing.

  • Fucking hilarious in this movie when Henry's wife is worried that he might go to jail b/c one of her friends husbands did & he laughs & says

'ya know why he went to jail, to get away from her'

    OMG seriously

Then he says 'nobody goes to jail unless they want to'

  • cornuto ...e contento

  • "and this guys saying watta ya want from me"XD

  • @Lizettejas lmaoooo i burst out laughing at that comment

  • joe pescis face is priceless

  • The hoof!

  • Great to see Marty's mom every time she's in his films.

  • how can such a sweet old lady raise a guy like Tommy is beyond me

  • @whatsgoingon07 That actress is Martin Scorsese's mother in real life...

  • @whatsgoingon07 Your right...It's an Italian thing..I do "NO" wrong in my moms eyes, even when I do wrong...lol...I'm obviously not doing these kinds of things but Italian moms are a rare breed...Not sayin non Italian moms aren't..If that makes any sense at all to ya?

  • @whatsgoingon07 New York is a big tough city with the options: work hard like a slave the legal way or get rich with less effort (illegally)

  • @whatsgoingon07 lol its not about being sweet. Usually sweet mothers raise poor children due to the fact they are naive and let their sons get away with shit... udumbbro

  • Thats the directors mum

  • best scene in the movie since most of it is improvised

  • Best mother ever. :D

  • the huf... lolol

  • PESCI* "MA I CAN'T JUST LEAVE IT THERE ITS A SIN" hahaha

  • to me, the priceless moment in this scene is when, at 1:56 in this video, Jimmy tells Tommy, ''why don't you settle down?!?'' - that means: your mother is right, and you gotta stop fooling around at your age, seriously!

  • He's got a nice head of white hair

  • @Mazz1990 very good.. you can repeat a line from the scene

  • she was great in casino too you can tell by her face she was genuinely disgusted by the cussing.

  • Improvised by Joe Pesci! Can't get any better!

  • "and this guy's sayin', 'what do you want from me?'" I wish I had Joe Pesci as an art teacher.

  • Henry is like " Ah I'm just listening" sounds sweet =)

  • Can you imagine how awesome it is to direct a film with your mom in it while she cooks during takes....that's my version of heaven right there.

  • and this guys saying "whatta you want from me" hahah Pesci is a fucking maniac in this movie but its heartwarming how he is so loving to his mother... like a little kid haha

  • @SomdeReggae yeah it's weird how he can be so violent in his work life and then be caring to his family. It was sort of the same when he played Niki in Casino. He took good care of his son and made him breakfast every morning, but then he'd be out robbing and killing every night! He always plays his characters well :)

  • @jaylias its a funny combination

  • watched this like 10 times b4 i realized they were talking about billy batts when jimmy said the guy in the painting looked like some1 they knew

  • yeah, its funny......I was always thinking that I never saw this old lady in any other film before.......and she is such a natural!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @inkey2 Scorcese's mom is in almost every film he made.

  • i think robert deniro is the only person in the world that look cool putting ketchup on his food lol

  • I love Joe Pesci describing the painting

  • haha tommy tryin to be all sneaky gettin in the house. 0:23...."just keep goin i dont wanna wake her up.....ooop" haha busteeddd

  • i want that painting just so i can say that line!

  • - My second favorite scene in the whole movie

  • "and this guy's saying "wadda want from me?""

  • I like this one. One dog goes one way the other goes the other way.

  • Mother-"Why don't you gets yourself a nice Girl?"

Tommy-"I get a nice one every night"

    BWAHAHAHA!!! LOL

  • lol "eh mom its a sin"

  • what does pesci say in italian at 2:37 tell me in italian write it

  • @CJD52107 he says "CORNUTO E CONTENTO" ;-)

  • "I like this one -- the dog .. one dog goes one way the other dog goes the other way"

Who knew Tommy was an art critic?

  • "I hit something on the road"

    Hey its still the truth

  • I love how tommy fix henry 2:19-2:26

  • I love sociopathic Italians

  • Hahaha she doesn't even ask questions when he says he needs to borrow the knife. All she says is, "just bring it back"

  • Felt like I was playing Tetris in the beginning. That was weird

  • @GoldenChildBH lol I know

  • wasnt she in casino too

  • @daved1974 Yeah she played one of the bosses mother.

  • "Look who's here. Look who's here."

Scorsese's mom was a great actress. She was like every Italian mother in this scene.

  • Martin's mother acts just like she did in her son's documentary The Italian American! She was a great addition to this film and Casino. May she rest peacefully!

  • My Mom was like this. I Miss her so . Thanks Mom !!!

  • @CaseyAnthonysArmy he's actually eating eggs, jimmy conway was irish soo he's eating eggs .

  • this whole scene was IMPROVISED!!!

  • that painting LOL :D

  • Tommy is a classic case of a sociopath. And his mother is such a sweet lady. What the hell happened? Like the Belladonna flower, sweet but spawns death.

  • hoof

  • "Why don't ya settle down?"

  • Ever since I saw this scene every night for the last 20 years I say to my wife " go to sleep.. go to sleep .. go to sleep"

  • i like her hair. just like my mothers

  • Ones goin east ones goin west, So what. Hahaha

  • @CaseyAnthonysArmy LOL true! I cooked dinner for a South American girl once and she wanted to put ketchup on the pasta, I almost choked!! Where did this custom come from??

  • @tryandlisten No clue. I'm guessing it was used as a substitute for tomato sauce when it was too expensive or hard to get.

I'm South American (Brazilian) but have never known anyone who put ketchup on pasta, lol. I knew people who put ketchup on rice, and I tried it myself - though I find it weird, it's actually not bad.

  • @BasementBeginnings No what happened is that in the film Jimmy (played by deniro) is irish, so tommy's mom makes him potatoes and some eggs and gives him ketchup for it. If you watch scorcese's little discussion on the scene he explains that.

  • @nitinopp I know Jimmy Conway is Irish, I was just referring to the thing tryandlisten said about cooking dinner for a South American girl, and where this custom came from.

Oh, and I didn't know that was potatoes and eggs, the other guy said it was pasta.

  • @tryandlisten he's eating eggs

  • Not even Lunesta could knock this old biddie out!

  • @greekboy2k Neapolitano but yeh, if they European/Jewish/Asian/African they all the same, ball breakers...

  • When they laugh at the mother's painting and they start laughing because it reminds them of Batts was hilarious. The way they laugh at it, - like it's a casual joke - blows my mind every time. Meanwhile, they guy is in the trunk of the car as they eat lol

  • Google (under Images): "1978 National Geographic Goodfellaspic" and you can see where the orginal picture.

  • DAmmm jimmy killlled that ketchup

  • i always liked how she said "yous came in.."

  • Tommy is such a sweet and considerate gentleman with his mother. He doesn't get too manic around her ;-)

  • 3 dislikes are from people who are saying " what do you want from me? "

  • ITS HIM! OHOHUHUHUHAHAHAHAHUHOHUHAHOHU! THE HOOOFF! OHUHUHUHAHAHAHAHAHOHOHUHUHOHOHAHA!

  • I effing love DeNiro in this movie (or any movie for that matter)

  • I think this is my favorite scene of the movie

  • that reminds me ma i need to take this knife

  • the hoofffff ?!

  • One dog goes one way the other goes the other way haha

  • @urmommaisfattt heh my mom loves that line

  • @JBIaze94 lol so does my dad haha

  • who is the ray liota car?

  • scorsese`s allways put his parents in a role or even a cameo appearance on all his movies ..... vinny is scorsese`s father in the dinner in prison scene making the sauce

  • LOL Martin Scorcese's mum back then is exactly how my mum is now. Short little Italian woman that whenever you go visit her, she'll cook you a 3course meal and then break your balls about being single

  • Comment removed

  • @tryandlisten She break your balls? Does she tell you to get your shoe shine box?

  • @shargor No dude, Italian mothers dont tell you to go home and get your fuckin' shinebox, they tell you to find a nice girl and settle down. Watch the clip, Mrs. Scorcese opitimised the typical Italian mother perfectly

  • @tryandlisten Sad is parents died though not to long after casino

  • @tryandlisten

    So lovable :')

  • @tryandlisten hahaha you gotta love it tho!

  • @VenomFan1989 lol yeh they're relentless...

  • @tryandlisten Sounds like my Nonna.

  • @tryandlisten if she really wanted to break your balls she'd tell you to home and get your fuckin' shinebox

  • @AndrewDunb LOL

  • "and this guys sayin "what do you want from me?"" lmao

  • fun fact: she is Scorsese's mother

  • I love De Niro's laugh at 3:06! Sick fucks....

  • i wish i was a wiseguy
