  • do you think a 30inch tank in length & 12inch in width is a good tank for 4-8 bluegills?? if so do i need an airpump for them 2 breathe?

  • @MustangJimmy816 I've never kept bluegills but from what I've heard from people who do, they can be pretty territorial (not as bad as green sunfish though). They can also get a foot long and sometimes longer. So I would say your tank is much too small for that many. I would say one male with one or two females would probably be the maximum. If/when they get really large they would need a wider tank though so it is easier for them to turn around.

  • @MustangJimmy816 If you have a good water pump filter that creates surface disturbance it should allow for enough oxygen to dissolve and not need an airpump (as long as you don't over stock or have an ammonia spike due to cycling).

  • Wowe! That thing is tiny!

  • @andrizzleo9 Not anymore! :-)

  • Nice Tank and fish, i got one too!

  • Sent a pic just for you on your seals pm

  • He's about 9-10" now :)

  • @NOLAGT Nice! Have you posted any new photos of him?

  • @maxter1124 The tank in the photo is 29 gallons. I posted this video so I could link to it on my local fish club's forum in order to find a new home for the catfish. He's now living in a 125 gallon tank with a few oscars and has grown to 7 inches long. :)
