  • haha,cool

    I'm home schooled too :)

  • LoL..0:59 .the kid is like "Erhm yeah...whatever".lol :D.

  • 0:59 .. the kid is like "Erhm, yeah...whatever..." xD

  • I have a bunch of bowfin babies too but my turtle is too slow to catch them

  • i love this video!

  • u must not feed him that much fish cuz hes not very good at it my turtle eats them in 1 bite not to brag or any thing

  • my painted is half the size of that and he annihlates fish that same size. He loves fish and pellets.

  • Happy Realization!

  • mine did that

    it eat my fish

    -_-''

and it try eating beans(new baby turtle)

  • they dont make good tank mates lol. also because turtles produce a lot of ammonia based waste which will eventually kill your fish. turltes require full water changes, fish need gradual water change of no more than 25-50%.

  • what... he got hungry...

  • hahahah my cuzins turtle does the same thing

  • the turrtle was like rambo in this video

  • It's the circle of life!

  • Guess we don't have to look for nemo no more D;

  • hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!

  • poor fish

  • you shoulda beat the crap out of the turtle.

  • where did you get the baby bowfin

  • i have one also like this same kind of turtle there great pets and really pretty too

  • where can i get a baby bowfin for my 90 gallon wit my bull heads

  • lol my fish eat oter fish 10 times bigger then wat u feed ur turtle

  • lol music is accordingly applied

  • SO CRUEL!! POOR FISH! BAD TURTLE!

  • wow awsome was that kid!

the kid is like:yeah yeah so tha's all you have to offer?

  • I guess that my painted turtle is just really... weird. It doesn't eat my pleco, or bother it for that matter.

But if you don't want to waste time and/or money on fish, I sometimes feed my turtle ground beef. It's a good fish substitute for weird turtles. Like mine.

  • ground beef is terrible... too much fat...

plecos are "armored". Their tough, leathery skin along with their defensive abilities usually deters turtles... I've kept plecos with my turtles for 10 years.

  • My red ear turtles like to bite placos, but they never consume them, bad taste maybe? I just see them dead floating with some bite marks.

  • well plecos are a very tough and tough feeling fish, it would be hard for a turtle, ecept for a juvinile(sp) snappper, to eat a pleco

  • feeder fish?

  • that was funny

  • if you don't like feeding him fish then try baby mice(pinkies). it takes them a while but they love them.

    .

  • I used to feed my snapper adult mice. Only problem is too many uneaten mice organs floating around stinking up the tank! One time I thought my kid threw spaghetti in the tank till I realized it was mouse intestins!!!

  • GOOD TURTLE!!

  • kid is like..."thats not how you eat those fish.....i did it yestrday...!!!"

  • LOL

  • yup. turtles eat fish....

  • its a terrapin, they eat goldfish as live feed 0_0

  • Can you buy Bowfins in fish stores?

  • I doubt it. They are a wild species.

  • life is like that sometimes :( What to do...

  • Well the thing is that when turtles are older they eat meat, that includes fish haha so that is why he eat it

  • That is correct. I just didn't realize they could eat fish quite so large.

  • hey i have 2 res and their the size of a quater but when i fill their tank they swim like their having a panic attack or something plz reply on my page plz help

  • No fence but I wouldn't want to put a turtle in with my fish, if that is all the retarded turtle does. But I also hate turtles. That's kinda stupid putting tjhem together, no offence.

  • Actually it was fine that the turtle ate the fish. We didn't mind. It was just new to me they could eat fish so big and I have to admit, I overreacted to seeing the cycle of life play out when the turtle spit out its prey and continued to eat it. I realize that's life though, and totally normal. No fence [sic] taken.

  • how can i make my Cumberland slide/ (Trachemys scripta troosti) to eat a Fish , he is young tho but i want to teach him so he can Grow good , i heard fish and Mice makes them grow faster so :D

  • is homeschool really fun?

do they get holidays off and stuff?

  • Yep, homeschooling is fun. I think what my kids like is that they can live and learn at whatever pace they want. If they want to go off on a tangent learning about turtles, they can. Different states have different rules, but here in Michigan the laws are not too stringent. We have to teach all the basic subjects, but other than that it's up to us how and when we do it. Some families homeschool right through holidays and take more time off in the summer. Others stick to a traditional schedule.

  • i bought 9 fish for my pet turtle to eat and after months i never ate a single one, now however, we have been noticing that slowly the fish are dissapearing so my ninja turtle has decided that she doesen't like them anymore and she's going to pick them off one at a time heh heh!

  • godzilaturtle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOL @ OMG OMG OMG.........

  • lol the camera goes to the girl and she looks at him like "wut?"

  • i got a question i'm getting a 2 yr old red eared slider is that cool(legal)(safe)

  • i give the fish ten points

  • We have a turtle, and he used to eat the small feeder guppies, but now he doesn't, I think its cause hes too fat, and the guppies are too fast for him...

  • Om nom nom!

  • i have turtles i have fish i like the fish better =) lol they dont live together though

  • I with turtles were at top of the food chain.

  • lol!

  • Ohh the horror!

  • 0_0 omgz! i didn't know turtles eat fish well i thought only like snapping turtles did...wow...umm...yeah. and that half body it spit out... XP

  • For the record, I knew that turtles would eat fish. I just didn't realize it could eat such big fish when it was such a small turtle. :)

  • they can eat anything the size of their head

  • i got a question i'm getting a 2 yr old red eared slider is that cool(legal)(safe)

  • it depends on how big it is. They determine legality by how big the diameter of the shell is. They do allow smaller turtles to be sold legally to teachers, researchers and the like if they have proof of their profession.

  • that was cool. nice ferocious turtle....

  • So big!!!

  • its natural

  • flush the turtle :D

  • lol

  • omg that was crazy!! I didn't think turtles ate fish!! I guess that I was wrong!! XD

  • .... that's what they eat in the wild.

  • Thats a terrapin not a painted turtle

it has feet instead of flippers like a turtle

  • a painted turtle is a tipe of terrapin

  • Chrysemys picta, while technically a terrapin, is commonly called the painted turtle. In fact plenty of terrapins are(Red ear sliders most notably). Common names are common because common people aren't uncommonly anal.

  • In North America we call aquatic chelonia turtles, brackish chelonia as terrapins, and land chelonia as tortoises with the exception of the box turtle.

  • idiot turtles have feet 2 for example the red-eared slider

  • When the bowfin get bigger the turtle better watch out.

  • good turtle

  • poor little bugger

  • Da kids are badass.

  • my turtle eats em whole all the time

  • ye my RES love to eat em

  • the mom was more scared then the kid

  • should have gooten an adult one, they eat plants more than fish

  • Turtlez rule.

  • hello turtles eat pet fish

  • was that a tadpole?

  • Adult: OMG OMG OMOMG

    Kid: *nom nom cookies*

    Turtle: *nom fish*

  • LOL the kid watches

  • thats why you dont put them in the same tank unless the fish are intended to be food

  • My turtle does the exact same thing (uses his claws to rip the fish apart).

  • omfg haahahahahahaha!!!!!! funny shit i got a baby one hope mine dont just massacer all my fish lmao best vid ever

  • THat just plain disgusting

  • Kids have an amazing appreciation for nature however they dont look to feedings as entertainment like us big kids.

  • =( poor bowfin

  • i used to have a turtle. we put him in the bathtub when we wanted to feed him

  • poor tadpole thats wrong yo, you should just feed him goldfish!!!

  • lol goldfish are high in fats and are somewhat dangerous for turtles

  • those were fish man, don't you see the fins

  • lol nice painted turtle.

  • i dont feed my turtle fish.....should i?i mean it eats turtle pellets and it seems like its doing fine

  • i feed mine shrimp but yours should be fine on the pellets

  • The pellets are good... My turtle also likes Dried shrimp, beef heart and bugs, mostly crickets. There are fish in his tank for him to eat but hes to lazy LOL

  • you have to add variety, like veggies, live foods, and the pellets. the pellets alone are not good enough.

  • Nice ^^.

I got a young painted turtle and was wondering if your turtle's hand section ever vibrated rapidly when it got close to it's prey? It's hands would be in front of it's face and vibrate for some reason. It's so weird =|.

  • that means hes confronting it with aggression. a territorial display. they also do that for mating as well if he does it to another turtle. then he eitgher wants to mate or wants him out

  • This is so neat
