windows vista was a complete disaster. Windows 7 was basically Microsoft fixing and slimming down vista so that it runs properly and fixing the numerous security holes and deficiencies. The major problem i see is that MS should have given everyone who had vista a free copy of 7 considering. Of course now its irrelevant considering any 32 bit os is out of date..

My Windows 7 laptop broke so I was forced to go on my sister's old laptop with Windows Vista. I thought I hated Vista, but after I uninstalled The Sims 3, it was really fast and worked well. Sure, I like 7 better, but Vista is awesome and works really well.

Actually, there's not much difference in Windows Vista and Windows 7. The only thing Microsoft has changed about Windows 7, is the visual effects, part of which take up less memory WHICH is why it's a little faster than Vista. In an expert's perspective, Windows 7 is not entirely different than Windows Vista.

True. I once talked to a Vista-hater who was bashing Vista, so I asked him what his hardware was, and he said he had 512 mb RAM! I'm not kidding! Vista needs at least 1 gb RAM to run perfectly smooth, just as XP needed twice as much memory as Windows 98 to run perfectly smooth. Why is that so difficult to understand for certain people?

Issues:

people spend hundreds of $ getting rid of pop-ups, toolbars, and notifications. Vista is nothng but a giant popup/toolbar u cant delete

The "great visual effects" brought 2 u by vista are nothing but built in lag time between what you tell the mouse to do and what it actually does on the screen. And i'm talking about a brand new high performance computer here. Try playing minesweeper, its a sad sad joke.

All the "High" performance sucks up all the ram and processor resources
