  • What a bad song

  • he wasn't fast at all, but he knew how to get open. unbelievable combination of route running, hands, and field awareness. this man knew the ins and outs of the receiver position, and that's a testament for how hard this man worked. he's a great ambassador for the league as well.

  • @APviKINGsz28 I like that, I like that.

  • In my opinion Cris Carter will forever be one of the greatest WR in the history of the Football. He wasn't the fastest guy in the field but damn could he catch anything you threw at em and out smart the guy who was covering him!

  • Cris Carter has amazing hands and feet. I love that he is always aware where the line is and he hangs on by his toes!!

  • THE LEAGUE COULD USE OLD NO. 80 RIGHT ABOUT NOW.

  • Comment removed

  • can idiots do rap without saying nigga? morons

  • During this time period, the Vikings SHOULD have hung on to Jeff George.

  • 1998 was the vikings prime year. should've been a super bowl victory -.- carter and moss are probably the most lethal pair of receivers together

  • great video

  • PUT THIS NIGGA IN THE HOF!!!

  • Carter was never one of my favorite players but its a travesty that he was not a first ballot HOF. Hes better than Michael Irvin if u ask me.

  • @nukeasfinest96792 Irvin was clearly better than Carter you just have no idea what you are talking about

  • @nukeasfinest96792

I don't deny that he was'nt an excellent receiver. But like you, I too did'nt care much for him. The reason he's not in the HOF is because of his arrogance. He himself would proclaim to be a leader, all he did was disrupt the team. Here you had a veteran acting like a kid. No way......I'm sure the HOF voters consider this .

  • @6400az If arrogance was the deterent from making the HOF than Canton would be an empty shrine! It's actually the IGNORANCE of HOF voters that keep sure fire HOF players like Carter on the sidelines! The NFL HOF selection process is the greatest farce in modern sports today otherwise Jim Marshall and Mick Tinglehoff would already be enshrined! CANTON CAN KISS MY ASS!

  • @BigMoInAZ I'll let you take up that last part with Canton.

Agree about the arrogance part, gotta have it to be great. Marino, Unitas ,Joe Kapp had it. Their arrogance manifested itself in leadership wich amounted to team continuity AND wins.Conversely,Carters' arrogance was more of celebration of himself. He was never a leader but more of a disruption to the team. His stats. should get him I would think

Marshall and Tinglehoff, should be in HOF. The 4 SB losses came with a huge price.

  • @6400az we'll have to agree to disagree! CC showed plenty of leadership in my opinion! His mentor ship of Moss through 2002 was the exact type of leadership a loose cannon like Moss needed to help turn the Vikings into actual SB threats each season! Unfortunately for them, the players, and us, the fans, the morons who run the Vikings have made 51 years of futility the standard of dispair and dysfunction that we've been witness to these last few years! CC was a leader, just not your type!

  • @BigMoInAZ

No problem. Your right, just an opinion. A leader for me is: Page, Marshall, Studwell, Kapp,Montana, Emmit Smith etc.

Llived in MN for many years and remember the mentor years.Still, I just did'nt think he was a leader-type since he did'nt provide the right example to start with. Altercations on the sidelines, the 1st down and td celebrations, demanding the ball. Should've acted like he'd done that.

Mind you, he was'nt all that popular in MN with the fans or players..Thanks.

  • @6400az Don't forget Randy Moss. He kept his ass in line, after Carter was gone.... you know the rest

  • This is maybe the best football highlight video ive ever seen in my life.

  • Skip to 2:20 for the best catch in this whole video.

  • why the shitty soundtrack?

  • @beefygreenapples

I think the song is perfect.

  • taught randy how to be a professional

  • wow you used the same audio for "touchdown vikings" and "what a catch by carter"....

  • Cris carter is the definition of "wide receiver"

  • moss is back!

  • @natedaman12 and just like that !! he's gone..sadness I TELL YA! Welp...Cya Later!!

  • best 100 dollars ever spent

  • He should be in the hall of fame next year.

  • This song is amazing but I can't find it anywhere.

  • Chris "All He Does is Catch Touchdowns" Carter

  • What kind of highlights are these? Carter is known for catchin' one handed!

  • chris carter is the best one handed catcher ever just have to put that out there

  • cris carter is teh most overrated nigga ever

  • What a catch by carter. Touchdown vikings!

  • i like that "touchdown vikings" and "what a catch by carter" over and over again

  • anthony carter is better

  • the only hands that come close to chris carter is torry holt

  • isnt it ironic how terell owens and randy moss played with a great wide reciever during there rookie year then they became a great wide reciever there selfs

  • @was38582 Same thing with Torry Holt and Reggie Wayne.

  • All he did was catch touchdowns. He only needed one hand.

  • if they had cris carter randy moss now they would have a SB and vist the next year maybe even a win and brett farve would play for another 4 years

  • one handed grabz my fave

  • WOW! Cris Carter and Randy Moss that was one of the best recieving packages ever!

  • should be in hof

  • Just don't compare any other wide receiver ever to Jerry Rice. It's insulting. Cris Carter himself has said that Rice is hands down the greatest receiver of all-time.

  • LOL @ SportsNutt123. Brown and Carter better than Rice? Give me a break. Rice is the indisputable king of WR's. It was more Rice who made his QB's look really good, not the other way around (especially in the case of Young). You know why no other WR was inducted into the hall this year? Because the selection committee was smart enough to know that inducting any other receiver in the same class with Rice would be a slap in the face of the GOAT. Both Brown and Carter will get in for sure.

  • @yourultimatekiller I never said they were better, I simply said they could've put up those same numbers if not better numbers if they were placed in the same position. The only thing Rice had on Carter was his route running, Carter had better hands. Brown ran better routs than Rice, was better after the catch, you can argue the hands, but keep in mind Brown is the only HOF caliber reciever of this era who didnt wear gloves.

  • And it wasen't really just the fact that Rice had HOF QB's, he had pro bowlers all around him, The o-line was stacked, he played with great running backs..Brown and Carter, had shit around them for the most part of their careers, shit I tell you...ha...Neither had decent talent around them till they were in their 30's.

  • I wouldnt say Cris is better than Irvin, but yeah he should def be in there...

  • He should be in the Hall of fame. Michael Irvin is in, and cris is WAY better than Mike. He gets no love!!!

  • @Jztwrshp3 Cris Carter and Tim Brown are the two most under rated WR's ever, both should have been first ballot HOF.

  • Finally, someone with some sense. Irvin is in because of the rings. His skill is nowhere near that of Carter and Brown... They got snubbed!!! POLITICS!!!!

  • @Jztwrshp3 Carter and Brown have been dealing with it since they came into the league. "Once Underrated forever Underappreciated"

  • That is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me God!!!

  • @Jztwrshp3

Agreed. I'm a Miami fan and Irvin was a great WR and a fierce competitor but I'd take Carter or Brown over him any day.

  • @Ginga Amen to that. Irvin played on a team with Emmitt, and Jay Novacek; the defense couldn't just key in on him. Cris Carter was the viking offense, robert smith was pretty good, but hes no Emmitt!!!!

  • @Jztwrshp3

Nope. Don't forget, the Cowboys had Alvin Harper too. He routinely made big plays for them.

  • @Jztwrshp3 Cris Carter was the Vikings offense? Are you forgetting about Randy Moss and Jake Reed? Jake Reed was a very talented #3, and Moss will go down as the biggest deep threat of all time.

  • @chiefbignips Yeah i understand the part about moss, but carter was doing it before moss got there. That was the time that I was talking about carter being the whole vikings offense! Carter was well established before moss got. Even you have to admit that. It was carters offense!

  • @Jztwrshp3 Yeah, I know, but how long was that? A few years? I'm not denying Carter's talent, I'm just people remember when it was him, Moss, and Reed. Moss and Carter alone might go down as the best receiving tandem of all time, as you can make the case for each of them to be top 5 all time.

  • @chiefbignips It doesn't matter how long it was. IT WAS!!!! I agree the three of them was as dangerous a tandem as there ever was or will be. I'm just saying don't take away what carter was to the vikings before moss got there, because he was a H.O.F. before moss got there!

  • Good mix but I have to agree with another poster that it could have been so much better. Where are the one-handed catches and sideline grabs he made? Regardless, Carter was the man. I wish I could've watched him play in his prime.

  • ....and thats the game.

    31-28

    How'd that interception taste?

  • Bad

  • After Farve is gone vikings are going down the drain.

  • hahaha I sense a little jealousy in your comment but the vikings aren't over after Favre*(if you can't spell a legends name then don't even mention it) they've only just begun my friend :P

  • Not if we get Warner

  • @bighertz14 Retired.

  • Hey man Warner is gone

  • Dude vikings all the way im from minnesota and they kick ass brett farve all the way

  • artrimiks = lions fan

  • @LazersClapAtYou

    >Implying that I support 0-16

  • your wearing your calvin johnson jersey as i'm typing this

  • >Implying that I own a lions jersey.

  • 2nd best record in the NFC isn't very average

  • it is if you cant even beat the bears

  • best record in the nfc is pretty average if u cant even beat the buccaneers

  • um not really. I mean yeah there not amazing but Average teams dont have 9 players going to the pro bowl

  • Carter has the best hands ever.

  • @Chinksta18 your so right

  • All you heard was "WHAT A CATCH BY CARTER" dude was amazing

  • "!ALL HE DOES IS CATCH TOUCHDOWNS!"

  • carter was a great wide out but vikings suck balls

  • hey ya stupid fuck the vikings aer 9-1 and they can beat anyone in the league right now so before you try and act tough maybe you can realize your white and can't do shit so go play on the silly nannies

  • @Clintbaake fag

  • It's criminal that he's not in the hall of fame. But with that said, I don't think it's accurate to say that he's better than Jerry Rice.

  • He will be, I think this is his first year of eligibility.

  • The highlights say it all. You can't deny Carter made sicker catches than Rice and had better hands.

  • He is the greatest possession receiver of all time, but Rice was a better route runner and had better QB's (one factor which is often ignored).

  • Yeah Rice had a hall of fame QB throwing to him most of his career.

  • @SonicTheRebel

9er legend Randy Cross said that Carter is the best boundary WR he's ever seen. Honestly, his opinion might carry more weight than anyone else.

  • @SonicTheRebel So? If you're trying to say that's why Carter is better...then I guess as long as you don't drop passes and make highlight reels you are the best ever.

  • Was Cris Carter the greatest WR the Vikings ever had? I thought it was Jake Reed

  • The most talented WR that Minnesota's ever had is Randy Moss. But of course Cris Carter had a better career than Moss as a Viking just because he played in Minnesota longer.

  • Mmmmm, they were different. When it is all said and done Moss will probably be the second only to Rice. Moss had better QB's longer, Carter played with a bunch of chumps for much of his career.

  • Moss played with Culpepper when he was in the prime of his career, and now Brady who's one of the greatest of all time so Moss hit the QB lottery. I wonder what Carter's numbers would look like if he was that fortunate.

  • Yea, Carter had good QB's when he was starting to fall off and sharing the ball with Moss. If he would have had a Montana or Young, or even a Culpepper during his prime... I think he would have Rice like numbers very easily, and in a shorter time. Not to say he is better than Rice, Rice is the best route runner ever and had great hands himself, no slouch at all.

Rice, Carter, and Moss are all HoF worthy, but Carter is by no means the least of the three.

  • Hahahaha, good one.

  • IF CHRIS CARTER WOULD HAVE PLAYED AS LONG As JERRY RICE, HE WOULD HAVE ALL OF RTHOSE RECORDS

  • lol they both rice or carter didnot run faster than a 4.6 - 40yrd dash.. break away speed is not the concern. Rice ran hard every time of the line and ran crisp routes. carter is a great sidlene catcher has supreme awarness of where outta bounds is n they r both possession. there in the same bracket.. its jus rice had 2 hall of fame qbs. n carter didnt ha

  • carter also caught for 1000+ yards for eight straight years, from

    6, that's right, 6 different quarterbacks:

jim mcmahon (pathetic), warren moon (great), brad johnson

(mediocre at best), cunningham (where carter benefited from

moss, i'll grant ya), jeff george (wildly inconsistent) and daunte

(pretty damn good). don't know how rice would've fared under

those circumstances. i'm not dissing rice; he was incredible.

i just think that, pound for pound, carter was better.

  • i love how you say danute was pretty damn good but really moss and carter made him good. look what he did without them (0-16 lions and thats even with calvin johnson a solid player)

  • yes, that's what i'm saying. rice did not have the best hands. carter did. no one disputes that. rice was an incredible route

runner, but so was carter. rice played in an offense built to take

advantage of his greatest asset: breakaway speed (rathman and craig helped bring in the defenses-that helped a lot).

  • @chris28379 Tim Brown a 1,000 yards in 9 straight seasons and caught passes from 22 different QB's. I think Brown and Carter would have put up the same if not better numbers than Rice had they been fortunate enough to play for Montana and Young throughout their primes.

  • why this man is not in the hall il never understand. im not even a fan of his really but he deserves the hall.and how he fuck is irvin in. whos doin the votin

  • Footwork at 1:39.....Straight murder

  • Yup.. he was a beast!

  • actually carter's best years came when he had randall cunningham, jeff george, and daunte culpepper as his quarterback.

  • carter was superior to rice in every way except one: breakaway

speed. rice is more renowned (and had better stats) than carter because he was on better teams and had montana and young throwing him the ball.

who did carter have? rich gannon? sean salisbury?

carter and moss far and away best wide receiver tandem ever.

no other tandem even comes close.

  • While Rice played with 2 HOF QBs, he never played in a vertical offense that would pad his stats. Also, as great as Carter is, are you honestly saying he was the better WR? (Also don't forget Rice had the best hands and was probably the best route-runner of all time as well, which is why even at 39/40, he was playing at a Pro Bowl level (on the Raiders with Gannon at QB, no less)

  • I couldn't more vehemently disagree with you that rice had the best hands. While I do agree that rice is the better receiver, carter's hands were phenomenal. I've never seen any clips of rice catching balls one handed while leaning out of bounds, something carter did many times. Just an example. Rice was better in probably every other way, but hands? Not even close.

  • hes great as an analyst.. hes the 2nd best WR -- Jerry Rice is ranked 1.

  • legend!

he coaches for our football team now.

  • this is y randy moss is such a great WR cause of this man rite here..

  • btw change he song... it's super gay

  • Best Hands Ever. Period.

  • The best receiver of all of time is Rice but the best pair of hands ever go to Carter - Go Vikings!

  • cris carter had the best hands in nfl histoy

  • Cris carter=Best hands ever

  • 2:21 was amazing

  • carter is the best wr ever in vikings

  • sejb12992,what makes you think moss should get most of the credit when moss arrived at vikes carter already had 5 straight pro bowls under his belt with the vikes so before you start taking credit from a future HOF know your facts!!

  • I WASNT TALKING ABOUT CARTER!

When I said Moss deserved most of the credit, I was talking about Wes Welker. He never had a good season until Moss came to New England. Carter was great with or without Moss.

  • whats the song? its not S. Carter

  • hes kinda husky for a WR

  • Cris carter was a God

  • as a viking fan. . this is a great video man ... good shit bro :)

  • 1,101 receptions

    13,899 yrds.

    130 tds.

    Cris carter was a legend!!

so why ain't he in da HOF?!!

    Vote 4 Carter!!

    And jim marshall!!

  • i'm pissed too that he hasnt made it yet. but i think they just didnt want Cris to go in before Jerry. Hopefully Cris and Jerry will go together next year.

  • Carter is pimp shiz he is the best of the best

  • diz guy would make me look like a hall of fame QB

  • im starting to be a viking fan cuz of diz guy is bad ass

  • He should have made the Hall of Fame....but we still got one

  • wow, moss & carter

  • The Best Duo

  • We had to good recivers but one retired and one we let go and now we are having big problems about the qb situation maybe we should kept moss.

  • awesome

  • I'm a Packer fan but I love watching football period. I watch a lot of Viking highlights as much as Packer highlights. I loved Cris Carter and Randy Moss, they're also very good on NFL Blitz 2000 when u have Cunningham throwing TD's to Moss and Carter, it's tight as hell. Cool Video!

  • theres none of those over-the-defenses-head catches in here...

  • chris carter is one of the most underated wrs ever and it is an outrage that he is not in the HOF yet

  • I dont think he has been retired long enough. Remember he retired in 03 with the Dolphins. And I thought he was number 3 on some all-time reciever list behind rice and brown.

  • this was his first year of eligibility.

  • young vikings fans these days who saw randy moss played are amazed by some of the catches moss made. no doubt, they're nice and exciting catches but compared to the grabs that Cris made, Moss' catches pale in comparison.

*sigh* when will the vikes get a duo like Cris and Randy ever again?.........

  • never.lol

  • When will any team get a duo like them ever again? The closest I can think of is Anquan Boldin and Fitz of the Cards.

  • Yeah....but that's not even close...by long, not even close!

  • Too true! When Brady comes back, Welker + Moss will make the 3rd lethal duo. (1. Moss + Carter 2. Boldin + Fitz 3. Moss + Welke, who is the common denominator here? Moss is in 1. & 2. and Fitz idolized Carter & Moss in Minny haha)

  • 1.(Current)Bold + Fitz

2.(used to be) Houshmenzadeh + Ocho Cinco

3.(im predicting) TO + R. Williams (or) Witten

    4. Moss + Welker(they will never have a repeat of 07 though

  • Housh and Ocho Cinco...LAUGH

    TO + R.Williams....LAUGH

Bold+Fitz might break up next season...?

  • wow, read between the parenthesis. Housh and Ocho USED TO BE great. Fitz + Bold LAST SEASON. and TO + R.Willliams is A PREDICTION, and i also put Witten. who you cant deny is one of the best TE there is

  • Read between the parenthesis and that's why I still laughed. TO + R.Williams...they had their chance and it was pathetic.

Randy + Cris Carter = #1 WR duo

Randy + Welker = #2 WR duo (though Wes isn't a big time play-maker that can turn a TD every rec.)

  • what? they had their chance? with who? an injured Romo? and then Brad Johnson? lets see how they do in 09. ok?

and as for all time standings Randy + Welker aren't even in the top 10.

    #1-Randy+Carter

    #2-Stallworth+Swann

  • ok hers how it goes:

    #1 duo: Marvin H. and Reggie W.

    #2: Larry Fitz + Anquan B.

    #3. Moss + Tha Carter

  • Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne are both great but Moss & Carter > them.

  • I agree, Moss and Carter to me are the greatest receiver duo of all time. Didn't they both have 1,000 yard season with 5 different QBs?

  • Yeah, I believe that number is 6 for both of them. I could be wrong.

  • AHAHAHHA anquan and fittz are good...marvin and reggie are good too...but nobodys better then moss and carter sorry.

  • yeah but did moss and carter ever win a superbowl together? no

  • does it really matter? they went to the play offs every single year it wasnt their fault..no1 comes close 2 them just look at booth of their career stats damm

  • reggie and marvin are no more. colts released marvin. and don't forget Driver Jennings!!! all the way baby!

  • Agreed. Randy adn Cris

  • JERRY RICE + T.O FUCK WIT DAT

  • #1 Randy + Carter still ec40268.

    A then-record 29 TD receptions combined.

Moss + Welker had 31 TD combined last season even though Welker wasn't a starter full time.

  • Comment removed

  • Anybody opposite of Moss benefits except when he was on the Raiders, of course.

Moss + Carter held the record for the most TDs in a single season by WR tandem at 29. That record has been broken now, though.

    The new record holders?

Randy Moss and Wes Welker - 31 TDs.

Rofl @ people NOT having Moss + Carter at LEAST at #1.00000001.

  • Comment removed

  • JERRY RICE +T.O......dat ho was good combo

  • Give Randy his due. Cris had the consistent amazing sideline tip-toe catches almost all the time. While Moss didn't get those as often, he still gets them (don't forget the catches in double+triple coverages).

  • 2:22 is just sick. Best set of hands I ever saw in my young 19 years.

  • Moss-Carter-Reed....That '98 receiving corps was just INSANE. Every drive down the field I was SURPRISED if we didn't score a TD because with a corp like that and Robert Smith running the ball we were explosive.

Now, unless AD run a 70 yarder or something, I piss myself when we manage to score one touchdown lol. Funny how things change.

Carter will be a HOF'er eventually, only guy ahead of him in most categories is Rice.

  • Damn I wish he had a ring..

  • It's a crime he's not in the Hall of Fame.

  • dude ur the best player in the world i love u chris carter

  • chris carter was the best in my opinion. People who scream jerry rice, dont relize he also had the best quarterbacks. Carter had a new qb every other year. Im not saying jerry rice isn't good, he was awesome and also one of the best. But i would give carter the best hands award. Go Carter and Vikings! wooh!

  • i agree, jerry had hall of fame qb's... cris had one who i think is going to the hall which is randle c

  • Hands down Cris Carter has the best hands in my eyes anyways cuz i grow up watching him and the reason i said that because how slow he was and he would make amazing catches with defense all over him..but jerry is a better overall WR because he can run faster and jump higher..both are smart but i rather have Cris Carters hands because that was truly his only dangerous weapon...but both should watch out cause Randy Moss is still pretty good but he loss like 10 TDs this year cuz bradys out
