Imagine a venue no bigger then your local pup, jammed packed, everyone is up and dancing, and two guys musically ripping out the best kind of dance music for this kind of thing, and everybodys involved ;) If you ever have a chance, see these guys live, don't hesitate, just go! After 4 songs that were played back to back, the drummer gets up and starts freestyling but then jumps into the crowd and starts crowd surfing while he's still freestyling! Their so fucking fun! They put on the best show!
@ThebobbyDee1 I thought the music was great but the dude doin the *vocals* kindaa sucked ass. Also Islands was awesome :P Ans the recorded version of this is better
No moshing in MTL last night. Other that that it was my first time listening to WH and I'm glad it was 'casue Paul and Dan kicked ass so hard that night. Oh Shit!

I would dig this band big time if it wasn't for the gimmick ironic-indie-slacker vocals. Add on top the new song about Pitchfolk (and honestly I couldn't give 2 effin' sh*ts about Pitchfolk) and you get another cheap laugh gimmick.Yer puttin' me to sleep y'all! It's like a bench mark of the indie-hipster mindset to be trying so hard to be ironic (example; bands w/ crazy genres listed on their myspaces),that the ability to be emotionally forthright in songs is lost.
Perhaps you are the problem, over analying every aspect of a band. Just listen to the song, if you like it good listen again, if not damn shame, listen to something you like.
@SchmidtyXX Your shockingly base view of music makes me want to cry. Maybe some people find music like this an amazing, whimsical, beautiful, and deep thing that deserves to be analyzed because they find meaning and pleasure from its underlying semantics and portents, moreso than just listening to it as a mindless peon. Some people think music is art, not you though, because you just listen to music, and it's a damn shame. Maybe you should listen to more vapid music, something you'd like more.
@CozmikMonkey Just so, you know the context here is the post I was replying to.

@CozmikMonkey So in conclusion: I responded to a person who bashed the song for being apparently too superficial for his mindset. Also how are you shocked? You don't know me....for instance I have played too many instruments throughout my life to remember (starting with clarinet, all the way to the marimba), music is art, damn straight. Music can also bring out some of your most raw primal instincts.
@SchmidtyXX Haha, you're right. I didn't actually read the original thread - my own ignorance. I'm just used to Youtube, and when I read "over analyzing ever aspect" I immediately took it that maybe you just listen to music at its face value (not bad), but that you were bashing them for analyzing it at all.
Needless to say my sock is definitely no longer on my foot, but almost down my throat at this point.
WOw, never new them also before today... just downloaded the Spinner App for iphone and it happens that i heard their song "Pockets" and i thought of checking their songs out!! they rock.. im downloading the music now <3
Just saw them open for Junior Boys in St. Augstine, FL at Cafe 11. Never had heard of them, but THEY ROCKED!! Awesome energy. Come back to FL anyday. Well definitely come to the show.
Just saw Woodhands live, never heard of them before today...and must admit that they truly rocked it. It was the frontman' s first time in Florida, ever! I must say, he made the most of his trip.
i'm super pumped, i'm seeing them (along with an incredible line-up including Ani DiFranco, Martin Sexton and Hawksley Workman... among others) in February! So psyched.
Ive seen them live twice now, I LOVE THEM! Ive got a picture with the drummer and met the other but unfortunatly the camera was out of batteries :( I dance my heart out at both their shows haha
Soo underated wheres the views, wheres the comments...soo dissapointing people these guys are amazing a new fused music of electronica and rock. this is what the world needs a new upbeat genre of music
This video was a blast to work on! I worked on the art dept, and I got some screen time in at the end. I am the dood that falls down at the end..but its funny how where you see the whole group of people flying and fighting...there is 2 of me. Wonderful job by the producer Asiv and the cinematography too. Shots come out clean on a RED cam
Wow, you're so lucky to have worked on it, this is one of the best music video's i've ever seen. Congratulations, you and the whole team did a wonderful job.

@theseeingeyeful
There's nothing remotely "ironic" about the vocals.
And in my opinion there's no such thing as hipster music. Or hipsters, for that matter. There's only a difference in musical persuasion.
