The Citadel fought in 8 seperate engagements in the Civil War but are not allowed to march eith bayonetes. Thats crap but the VMI cadets looked good. My twin brother is marching somewhere in there!

Did you notice the bayonetes fixed on the rifles of the VMI cadets? VMI is the only school that is allowed to fix the bayonetes on their rifles. This is because during the civil war, in the Battle of New Market, 264 VMI fought along with the Confederate army against Union, with VMI 50 cadets wounded and 10 killed in the battle. To commerate the cadets killed for their beloved country, US officially allows the bayonets to be fixed on the rifles of VMI cadets during their parade. I admire VMI.

US military parades are not meant as propaganda tools used to incite fear with the appearance of power, cloaked with false nationalism. To burst your bubble. This parade isn't up to the standards of a military parade like the North Korean, Russian, Chinese, French, or German. The cadets are out of line at times, there is no distinctive marching step, and the announcer isn't helping either. But in the end its up to your personal opinion...

I didn't expect her to be so amazed by us, I remember looking left for eyes left and seeing the both of them smiling at us, I didn't think they'd be that happy to see us. It was cold and a whole day of busing there but it was worth it. Something we'll always remember.
