This is why the WWF/E started nicknaming Shawn Michaels the Icon. It was to counter Piper. The truth is that Shawn was never an Icon of Wrestling. @jfearless1 I'm not a big Michaels fan, but in my opinion, he's as well known as Piper. Flair, Hogan, Undertaker, Andre, Hart, etc. are/were icons. Piper was a great wrestler. And his comeback to WCW in the late 90's was wonderful. He gave Hogan and the n.W.o. hell, and helped WCW stay on top for a while. Guys like Michaels, Piper, Macho, Stone Cold, Rock, and even Sting were champions and big-name wrestlers, but they'd be "silver-medal" icons. To me, neither Michaels or Piper was THE icon.

The Mongo fit in with the Horseman. He was their "muscle," kind of like how Batista was Evolution's "muscle." Every group needs a guy like that. What role did Jarrett fit? Jarrett looked like a gay guy out there with his fruity getup. Mongo was put over in the Horsemen DVD; Jarrett got buried.
