the new f1 cars do not have NOS they have the option to put in KERS, Kinetic energy recovery system. Only two teams are running it anymore though because it is more trouble than it is good. (McLaren and Ferrari are the two teams)

I'm not sure about this, but i think I saw something about it once.

I think it is a system that manages to store some of the energy when the F1 brakes down, and release it again when the F1 accelerates. Thus giving increased acceleration.

But that was the idea, it was all about tactics. Sure, they are neck and neck on paper, but there were times when Ferrari and McLaren would just nail someone using the KERS. More weight ans speed boost, to lighter without a boost. They gave the options, the (richer) teams chose it. Can't blame the sport.

He actually suggested that. He is getting too extreme with his ideas. Drivers and teams immediately turned that idea down (thank god!). I think his time in the FOM hotseat is up. We need a younger, more in tune with the reality of F1, less inclined to move the whole sport to Asia, likely to bring in HD, personality.

Clearly you don't know the power of these things. Murray even points out that Coulthard is toying with the road cars on the final corner - he's nowhere near full throttle until you see that 'good turbo charge at the end', even then it doesn't look to me like he's opened the throttle completely.
