  • Stopped at 0:00 to ask M$ to open 4k items mailbox @ 2G ram... yea it froze :)

And one more think ... you are describing google's system but WITH connection to windows and guess what? EXCHANGE ....

  • do MS even check how do Gmail looks before taking this video?

  • Microsoft advertising is bullshit. Bending the truth. They were using a G1, the first Android phone?

  • 1 year later microsoft its all there and the guy was using a blackberry so thats none of googles business

  • Office 365 with Lync! Bye Bye Google.

  • whos helping whom openly now google?? remove this video if its not approved.

  • Folders? Really, that's a Microsoft feature? Your marketing department is pathetic.

  • the days of microsoft are numbered

  • remote wipe? ummm... doesn't that require the phone to be connected to the Internet? anyhu, I strongly agree, in the business world, exchange is a must have!

  • 270 people are not bussiness users (or are a one man operation).

Gmail might be what I use in my personal life but you can't beat MS in the Corp world, at least not yet.

People who say otherwise just because it's MS and not some other name on the product are pathetic.

  • Yea; if you want to live in the 1990's MS exchange is an awesome solution.

  • @curtiswrigley Last time i checked exchange has be greatly updated and is a must have for any business. Googles apps business is just not there yet!

  • How many butthurt assholes around here.

  • I recently moved from Gmail to Office365 ... and there is no doubt: Exchange is really superior for a business use. I can use my own domain and work perfectly with Outlook in a one-place management. No config, it works like magic. But I keep my gmail adress for personnal use, where Google is still the best.

  • Gmail the best.

  • HAHAHA only 64 likes XD your patetic and 246 people knows it :P including me

  • How ever Gmail is free

  • Gmail is 10x the email Microsoft will ever make!

  • Wow Microsoft. Please have some civility when referring to Another company's services. You disgust me

  • Comment removed

  • Very good video! Now I´m really sure: - GMAIL is the best! Microsoft stay in the past, your best place. Congratulations Google!

  • "Innovate" has become just an arbitrary word at Microsoft. "Hey, I'm hungry -- I'm gonna go innovate myself a sandwich!".

  • If your business is set up to run with certain software then you should probably use the software built for it. If I made a whole company and structured its software with Google's it would probably work flawless providing you where using other Google software. If a used outlook to manage Gmail it probably would go the same way.

  • Micro$oft is disgusting.

there isn't anything in destroying others. if you can, make a real better solution and don't lie

  • This is so overloaded with inaccuracies, and BS assumptions, I hardly know where to begin. For one thing, it is assumed that people have have permissions to make changes to ms-exchange can not be given the access to gmail. WTF? And you can so manage resources with google calendar. This video is complete propaganda.

  • This one was good )

    No more outlook!!

I just moved MS Calendar to Gmail !!!

    Ура!

  • The masters of inflexibility aka Microsoft are calling Gmail inflexible!

  • does this video solve anything ???

  • Despite the rampant bandwagon support of Gmail on the web, having been in the IT industry for a few years I can testify that Exchange is far and away the superior product. Gmail simply doesn't have the features Microsoft has; Microsoft better addresses business' needs.

While Gmail has always been great for the relatively simple uses I have of my personal email when compared to Hotmail, there is so much more you need to do with your email in business than your personal email.

    Sorry fanboys

  • @TonyLechner You IT support types are clueless. You are the primary target of Microsoft FUD and you're lapping it all up and asking for more. I suggest you read the Halloween Documents and find out what Microsoft really thinks about you.

  • ummm GMAIL FTW

  • Did you know that 98% of people who recommend Google as a enterprise solution have pony tails and always wears black t shirts....It makes you think

  • @drewsy69 Did you know that 83.2475% of all statistics are made up?

  • i often use exchange for my nokia n82 to manage google mail.because gmail is very safe and fast. i find a new smartphone on this video that my favourite phone is magic

  • I love how the CEO is a white guy.

  • @AftComet lol get used to it in the UK more of them are now white and asian. No point complaining about it. Gota prove yourself times 10 and get there mate....Is what ethnic minorities been trying to do for donkey years. But This is what i wanna get into IT Support with minimal programming lol whether i get into a senior role is another question. no harm in trying.....

  • What a negative campaign!

  • @touminm7 Yup!

  • I think this video totally wrong

  • Google wins again :)

  • Microsoft отбивается, но как-то неубедительно.

  • Hehe.... Just got this forwarded by a friend at Google. They use it in their marketing to Exchange customers looking to upgrade or change. Basically nothing is true and it's quite easy to show. Great way to validate Google services.

  • And because Dave have stopped using Microsoft Outlook, he saved like sh1tload of money.

  • Wow - these scenarios MS comes up with are pathetic examples only relevant to old fashioned corporations like themselves. I hope the dinosaur CEO's who need to contact help desk IT techs to wipe a lost phone or LOOK INTO DOUBLE-BOOKED CONF ROOMS (LMAO) are soon going to retire!

  • 01:05 "he is forced to use labels instead of folders like he is used to" HAHAHA!

    They really don't get it!

  • Microsoft is really desperate :D

  • what's up with this guys hands. gee.

  • Comment removed

  • The first point in the video isn't about GMail - it's about Google Calendar. Thus, irrelevant. As for the second point, labels are WAY WAY WAY better than folders! The main point here appears to be that Gmail is missing features that ... have nothing to do with email! The admin rights junk is something I'm sure Google can implement very quickly.

  • Lets talk about what linux can do and what windows cant do

  • can make everything annoying and take too long.

its all about simplicety over efficency

google =easy to use, lack in alot of things

windows= can use it, almost does everything

linix= hard to use. does absoloutly everything possible. if you have knowledge to do so. which most dont

  • epic fail... i love "evolutio" its free

  • The sound for me goes bad about 1/2 way in and quieter.

    Tried on 2 machines...

  • 1:11 - I hate folders - why can't outlook have labels - much more flexible! If my company allowed me to forward everything to gmail, I'd be much more productive!

  • @ants5040 Outlook does have labels.. they're called categories.

  • There has been some confusion in the comments on Google having some of the features discussed. They do have them and the video reflects that, but states that they are limited.

-Remote wipe has to be done by a full administrator, not the end users

-Delegate access is possible, but requires full permissions that most companies wouldnt do

-Conference rooms can be booked, but not managed (approve/decline, override, etc)

Hope that helps with some of the confusion - Brandon - Microsoft

  • que asco

  • good feature list for Google to work on, nice job, M$!

  • I see u came on googles page to advertise??? Lol

  • Jalousy!!!!!!!

  • Microsoft is cenrtanly the best creator of....

    ...

    ...

    FUD! :)

  • Wow this video is a crap like Micro$oft..

    boooooo

    go away....

    dmery

  • I love how the video says that Outlook doesn't work with Gmail and that it's Google's fault Outlook won't work with it.

And then they say that you have to set up Google Apps. Duh! You have to set up Microsoft crap too.

And they said a new notebook is ready out fo the box. Ha! Maybe after you delete half of the crap they pre-install.

  • I think MS needs to review the accuracy of their video. Companies may want to use Outlook with gmail and they state there is no corp directory, no ability to schedule conf rooms, etc. This is all false. Just another time when MS tells half truths.

  • Is stupid, google have all teir app in the cloud this sicronis all doyo have en gmail and oters, and the mos important detaill ALL THIS APP ARE 100% FREE!!!

    AND I USE LINUX LOL

  • Why would I be trying to use Outlook with Google Mail?

  • @throble otherwise M$ can't read your gmail :)

  • I think my favorite part was when they said they couldn't set up Blackberry phones. Why would you buy Blackberries when you have Google Apps, knowing they wouldn't work? This video blows things way out of proportion.

  • yea like a CEO lossing hes phone, i bet this must happen in all corporations like everyday

  • Most of this is total marketing Fud & Spin.

Its no different to saying "Here use this Blunderbuss not the Shotgun because your to stupid to point it anywhere else other than your feet"

Its a shame because I was expecting more of you M$

  • I don´t like people and companies, that bash others to show how good they are.

Google is much easier and free.

  • Comment removed

  • Well, maybe Goolge isn't as bad as MS tries telling us as it's good enough for hosting MS's marketing videos. LOL!

And, by the way, LABELS were the biggest reasons for me to switch to GMail.

  • wuahahajahja

  • M$ = FAIL. Dying company is dying.

  • This is so ridiculous. All this problems are caused by using Microsoft Outlook. I bet Microsoft TRIED to make it incompatible with GMail, to make you use their software.

Labels ARE folders with extra functionality which you don't have to use. "He is forced to use labels instead of choosing how he wants to organize his inbox." doesn't make any sense. Labels MEAN choosing how you want to organize your inbox. So ask someone you trust what (s)he thinks about this instead of believing Microsoft.

  • white guy in charge, old white guy....

  • nonsense

  • microsoft is bunch of greedy suckers

  • With Google Calendar double booking won't happen.

With a Google Phone, nobody can acces it without the security code.

You can manage your inbox in Gmail

You can manage your calendar in Gmail or Google Calendar.

When you use Google Apps, most of these problems won't happen.

    Microsoft office: 935 US Dollar

Google Apps: 54 US Dollar / Year

    Go Google!

  • I LOL'd at the T-Mobile G1 Android phone by Google for "Dave the Executive Admin" and this video being hosted on Google YouTube.

Additionally, there's so much wrong information in this video, anyone who's ever used GMail in an Apps for Your Domain account can see right through this marketing crap.

  • lol stupid microsoft

  • how did I choose google who always provide a service that people can taste the developing countries free of charge ... go on google

  • i don't even like the look of this guy. looks creepy .

  • ... so don't use outlook to manage gmail...

  • Wow... I am pretty sure I commented before on this vid... either I'm going crazy or someone at M$ didn't like my comment. Oh well. Thanks M$ for reminding me why I despise you so.

  • DEBUNK 2 of 2: - You can access your corporate directory in Gmail and Google Calendar. Google [google apps for your domain ldap sync] - You can allow your admin to remote wipe your mobile device. Google [Google Apps adds remote wipe] - You don't have to download anything to use Google Apps on the web (which I find loads faster than Outlook)

I don't know what Google Apps offers as far as setting up a new user. But judging from all the misleading bullets in this video, I'd be very suspect.

  • DEBUNK 1 of 2: This video is riddled with errors & misleading bullets. - Gmail and Google Calendar has account delegation -- Google ["Delegate access to your Gmail or calendar"] - You can manage meeting rooms in Google Calendar. Google ["find and reserve a conference room" google calendar] - Gmail labels do everything folders can and more. They also sync to Outlook as folders (w/ hierarchy). Google [Gmail folders Outlook] -- my fav Gmail labels lab: Google [new in labs hide read labels]

  • The problem here is that if you want it in google, google developtment it for you, but if you want it in M$, M$ first stole your life plus your money and then you have to wait weeks and weeks until your application can be ready.

  • ...working for MSFT?

...ever used GMail in your life?

  • Wie kann man nur so lange labern ohne was zu sagen?

  • Wow, Microsoft is really getting worried :)

Outlook and OWA are both awful!!

  • ołtluk - wpieprzać zupę widelcem :)

  • I'm amazed how seriously people take it, "Oh! but its free" obviously the biggest job they have ever had is at the nearest starbucks or at best at a company with all their 10 employees sitting in a cabin, but in real world with companies having multiple offices and where every second matters, this integration in a important, and till google doesn't work for me

  • That's why professionals who need to get emails done use ticket systems. ;-)

  • @0:50

    Outlook suck!

  • Oh, no, look at 4:17 - a Google user has to download all this bunch of software (freely)... but Microsoft users, hell yeah - they just have to buy the Windows OS, the Office pack (for about $500 just to start up), the daily updates and patches and so on. So what do you chose?

  • Its funny that obviously the people who bash MS here for making a great product showing that they very likely never worked in a professional organized work environment. If you don't need it don't use it. Outlook is a very good product, I really like to work with it in business and private.

  • and, of course you bought 2 licenses for it...

  • you suck microsoft, don't host your videos on Google's cloud :D

  • Trying to use gmail through Outlook is like trying to eat soup through a straw... It dosen't make any sense for someone to cripple their experience in that way.

  • MS forgot a very important functionality in Outlook: if you want your PC full of virus and trojans you should use outlook.

  • oh dear. clutching at straws.

  • This all seems so old and backward. Who chooses to use Outlook at home? How long does the average person wait for Outlook to start? How often does IT support have to deal with Outlook?...

  • Or, they can all use Lotus Notes.

  • MS Outlook is cluttered with so much functionality that I will never use. On the other hand, GMail is simple and has the best UI,plus it is colorful.

  • Nice Video... Made with Apple Keynote ?

  • Seriously MS haz to fire all their PR people. Remember not all people are executive assistant for a CEO, or IT Help Desk or admin.

  • To me Outlook is the WORST piece of software out there... and MS insists in it being so perfect...

MS: you are slowly digging your own grave

  • gmail assumes the users are fairly smart and like their security, however if you constantly need pampering, can't pick your own noes, and like having and executive admin looking through your own email...microsoft is waiting for u.

  • If Dave can't solve simple problems like these he is useless and should be fired

  • "Here, he's unable to sort messages the way he'd like to, and he's forced to use labels instead of choosing how he wants to organize his inbox."

I'm in Outlook and I want to organize my inbox with labels...oh wait, I can't because Outlook forces me to use folders. This guy should rethink his logic.

  • I know of at least one guy who is *hating* to intern at a company this summer -- just because they happen to use Microsoft Outlook. In his previous summer, he had got used to Google Apps at another company!

  • Fail, the principle premise of this is that you need to work in MS Outlook.

  • Thank you for this vid M$ you've restored my faith in your suckiness! I mean seriously... You do realize you just put up your videos attacking google on a google service correct? Idiots.

  • haha...email and calendar delegation is available in outlook via google apps sync plugin as of like 2 weeks ago. FAIL. do your homework M$.

  • Utter rubbish.

This presumes we want to use the crapware that is Microsoft Outlook 2010. Blackberry and Google are currently working on Push email. Labels are much better than folders, thats why Outlook 2010 highlights smart searches as oppose to folders.

Finally, where are Office webapps? I still haven't seen them.

  • Microsoft is a company of businessmen and lawyers. Google is a company of scientists and engineers.

  • "unable to sort messages the way he was in Outlook. He is forced to use labels instead of choosing how he wants to organize his inbox ". Another example why Microsoft is history, and will never succeed on the internet. Labels > folders. Anytime.

  • @Sterfgeval Exactly. I fail to see how folders are somehow better than labels, as these morons want us to believe.

  • GMail rlz! Exactly interface... Gmail is amazing and simple... Microsoft, hmm, much to do :D

    I'm a betatester MS Office 2010.
