@attackmike The same legs who could shrug off hits from anti tank weapons, which is also the same legs who has to carry probably over a thousand tons of armor. I would have say that they are the complete opposite to weak. Or do you mean the AT-STs?

@onlypeaceindeath weak as in parts of the legs sticks out which to me seems like an easy target. if i remember one of the star wars game on gamecube i think allows u as a jedi in a pliot suit destroying a at-at by slicing the belly open and throwing in some themros at-at went boom(jedi use a grappling hook to get up).

But Lightsabers can melt right through blast doors that has to withstand extreme heat and stress so it's not strange that he could cut open the underside which is the weakest part on a At-At. We can still see in the movie that AT-ATs can withstand direct hits against its knee joints without any damage.

@onlypeaceindeath always thought the neck was the weakest (battlefront II ) though its not that canon if i remember correctly. i read that a mod version of the at-at extra Armour and gun so it looked like a walking turtle the weak points were the legs some commandos took one out by putting bombs on the legs cause the body was too heavily armored

But we can still see that that the legs are still very durable since the anti tank guns the rebels had did not affect them at all, and the fact that they need to carry the AT-ATs weight too(probably many hundreds of tons per leg). And games do have to take balance into account aswell, because otherwise it would be near impossible to take a AT-AT down.

only reason rebels even seem good is because of luke, if luke didnt exist rebels would have been squashed, and another thing Lucas had to make the stortroopers inefficient compared to thier actual bio in order for the rebels to even have a chance, if the movies followed the actual stormtrooper bio descriptions the rebels would have been dead. I dont care if a xwing has deflector shields a tie fighter is way faster and the pilots had years of intense training, rebels had none of this training.

They didnt switch from clones. The Fett Clones of II & III had issues that made the Emperor decide that just one Batch from one donor was to much of a risk. (I.E. Kaminoan Rebellion: A new batch of clones made by the Kaminoans rebelled against the Empire on Kamino.) After that incident the Emperor decided that it would be much safer to take DNA from different people and produce alot of lower quality soldiers.

What? You're not talking about the Stormtrooper effect are you? You know that thing is quite easily disproven by actually paying attention to the movies, which show the stormtroopers are just as good (if not better) shots as the clonetroopers.

For instance, ANH opens up with the stormtroopers gunning down a whole hallway of Rebels while taking 2 or 3 casualties in return.

In order to glorify the military prowess of the heroes without actually costing them their lives, movies rely on anonymous, seemingly incompetent soldiers to act as cannon fodder for the delight of the audience.

This applies not only with Star Wars, bu with every movie involving an "Evil Empire", the Indiana Jones films being an excellent comparison.
