my home state is florida, i lived there for 13 years, but im 16 and i live in arizona now. i wish i could go to U of F, but it would be too expensive for me, plus, i don't wanna move away from all my friends. so i guess i'll just have to try and go to U of A or ASU or NAU
o kool i am in a mb 2 but it is no where near as great as u all r! i luv the gators! my mb is all the way in NC! :( we r very small and cnt rlly do anything near as kool as wat yall did as the halftime show the other day.but thts partly cuz its a hs band. we do have fun tho our show this year was Game on. we played tetris, bounty hunter, halo and kingdom hearts. do u guys go 2 competitions and stuff or just games?
Just games and the occasional exhibition. Dude, don't worry about being from a small town; I came from a very small band (40, including DL and guards!) but I was in Gator Band for five years. As long as you want to get into it, you can! =D
o thnx im in NC tho so i prolly wont b able 2 b in the gator band maybe 1day ill get 2 go 2 a game an c yall up close.(well closer than the computer will get me.) there are 38 ppl in my band all together we dnt have hardly any base winds tht we need like the tuba and all tht. we do have 2 bass clarinets 1 tener sx and 3 trumbones thts about all the base we get.:|
It's all good, bro. We had only one tuba, a baritone, me on either tenor or bari, and a bone. If you get into UF or Santa Fe, you can march, so just try to get into one of them and you'll do alright =D

no actually since i (unfortunately) have 2 go 2 NCS so i could b a Vet. i wasnt rlly goin 2 b in the mb i dnt thnk i could go thru it lol but if i lived in Florida. my best friend luvs band . shes in the pit. i dnt thnk i could ply the picc. i like the lil space i get now for my fingers with my flute. do u have a piczo, facebook or myspace?

The whole group is about 325 with the guard and gatorettes (baton girls). I know the there are 23 trombones... not too sure about the other sections... I think there are about 50 saxes... 30 trumpets...30ish clarinets... 35ish piccolos(we don't march flute, just piccolo)... 13 baritones. I came from a high school with 40 people, totally different, lol. And I know kids in gator band from all over the country... NJ, Maryland, Alabama, Penn, Georgia, and I even know a kid from North Carolina. ;)

yeah, we have to get to Gainesville before classes start for about a week of band camp. The hard part is that within the span of one week, we have to completely learn two shows... Pregame, to be used all season, and the halftime show for the first game
my deepest sympathys.lol. not 2 mention the heat! it was really hot down here! i made a huge mistake on my first day! i will never make tht mistake again! i wore a black USMC t-shirt, jeans and i brought tea 2 drink! not only did i learn basic block, forwards,and backwards marching and some lateral slides, but i also nearly past out i felt so dizzy! but it was my first day so i ddnt kno wat 2 expect or anything but the rest of band camp i had shorts on thts 4 sure!lol

Yep. Band Camp usually lasts five days to a week and it's usually held the week before school starts
