I think we can all agree social media isn't overrated and it definitely isn't going anywhere. The industry is still so young and it is constantly developing. While we will probably not have Facebook as our main social network in 2-3 years, the concept of social media won't be going anywhere.

Social media is no doubt a powerful medium. I feel it is overrated as a tool to improve one's life, but at the same time feel it deserves the hype it receives when it concerns marketing/brands. Let's face it, social media exists for ONE major thing: to sell the average consumer goods and services. Look at the Farmville model, get people to spend real money of fake things. That is brilliant, and the number one reason why the U.S. is saturated in social gaming startups. I personally hate it...
If there's a winner in this debate - it's Gary! Hands down. Gary - you nailed it! Bravo! Question: Gary - what are the micro changes that are occurring?
Social media doesn't create the fame or fortune; it just opens up the opportunity to do this. In the end the principles of consistency, hard work, etc all need to be abided by in order to leverage the full impact of these platforms.
Fun conversation. In the end, it's social. And as such, relies upon the social part of all of us. Have you seen @JayBaer's post - t’s More About the Social Than It Is About the Media. Summed up nicely.

@ivideolives
no, not quite. There are no winners, just people with opinions and those who support them.
