@MsVintage007 I would see your family doctor first. A cardiologist sounds a little more subject to cirrcularry problems. Neurologist are more brain and nervous system
Could someone help me figure out what's wrong? My symptoms: Tingling in the arms Pain in the left leg going all the way down to my toes Back of neck hurts Tightness of neck and shoulders Blurry vision out of no where Light headed Fluid feeling running down the back of neck I get dizzy Amost like it's hard to focus on one thing. Copper taste in my mouth, Metallic. Body heating up out of nowhere Body feeling like it's paralyzed and I'm going to fall or black out Weakness in my legs numbness
im only a freshman in high school but im considering very seriously what i want to do when im older. Im interested in the medical field and i love learning about the skeletal, nerve system, brain ect. and i really like to help people so i was wondering if there is aby other fields that deal with the skeletal system or nervous system but i would rather not deal with blood and guts any suggestions?
Neurology. You could also try to get into a DO program instead of an MD program, where they'll teach you some extra musculo-skeletal stuff. Although, to be honest, put in work NOW. Study hard. Take lots of sciences. When you get into college, take the hardest professors and DON'T play around. I knew 20 people besides myself trying to get into medical school (which is after college)- only I got in. Everyone else couldn't, or opted for an easier career path.
@LuckyDukeSeven have you looked into Functional Neurology? there's a nice program for chiropractors that works with some interesting new science... I want to do this but become a DO neurologist instead of a chiropractor so that i actually would SEE neuro patients. all about having options for them. what do you think of this plan?
DO and MD neurologists are essentially the same thing- Unless you want to use some of the extra training you receive as a DO.A DO would without a doubt have an edge in functional neurology.
With all due respect to Chiropractors, they aren't physicians or medical practitioners. It's hard to imagine how they could legally effectively treat a neurological disease. Certainly they can't diagnose one- not legally.
Stick with DO or MD. DO sounds like what you want.
@hazzy1313 You need a bachelors degree in anything as long as you take all the required classes.. But seeing how it is in the medical field, you'll probably would like to major in biology or psychology or something along those lines.
I beg to differ. Neurologist DO NOT TREAT people with MS. They DISCRIMINATE, DENY AND FEED US NONSENSE. Heaven forbid if you have the possibility of having so called MS because once diagnosed you will be denied treatment that could stop your progression and give you a quality of life we all deserve. I have collapsed veins which is being labelled MS. And because I have the MS label I am denied treatment as I sit and SUFFER knowing I can get relief but not ALLOWED.
@SHIRLEYRENSHAW I don't really know. I don't know what's going on in the neurology world, despite the fact that my father is a neurologist, haha. I just Youtubed "neurologist" to see other perspectives in the field.
@swtxwishes The only beef going on right now is to do with the Multiple Sclerosis Societies and their nueros WORLD WIDE!!! I mean no disrespect to any other Neurology groups and Neurologists involved .....just this organization and those participating in not following ethics and their Hippocratic oath. It is shameful and is being revealed. Also a turf war is in play among MS nureos and the Vascular community. Just trying to inform. Look up CCSVI. Nice to meet you BTW!!
I like this guy... Very honest face.
