It's called a paratrooper, not an airborne infantry, and paratroopers used M1 Carbines, not M1 Garands.

@sebman97 really, ive only said that five hundred times. yes it is a military weapon, origionaly made for the military. yes the gandstars used it sowhat they just happened to get their hands on some. that question is like saying the bar isnt ww2 because the gangstars used the bar. yes they used both weapons. get your facts straight this was the first thompson made, usually used in the pacific theater of war and somtimes in the eastern front

The Thompson was more common in the European Campaign than it was in the Pacific. The M3 Grease Gun and the M1928 Thompson were more common in the Pacific because the Marines didn't get as much updated equipment (They were using the Springfield as their main rifle until 1944 =P). One more thing; The Thompson was rarely ever used by the normal soldiers, it was mostly used by higher ranking soldiers. The paratroopers did use it with a wire stock before the M1 Carbine was made.

really its a tommy gun lol its a 1928 typewrighter thompson or also known as the tommy gun. there is no diff between a thompson or a tommygun. you can take of the grip of the thommy gun and put on a normal thimpson grip and put on A 20 or 30 round mag. i already made a thompson military version
