Actually, I did just Google the "Oregon Petition" and came up with its Wikipedia article. That petition, unsurprisingly, is a joke. They threw on anyone's signature if the person claimed to have a degree - even a BS - in a physical science. Actually, I did just Google the "Oregon Petition" and came up with its Wikipedia article. That petition, unsurprisingly, is a joke. They threw on anyone's signature if the person claimed to have a degree - even a BS - in a physical science. Many of the listed signatories are engineers, chemists, and doctors, who hardly qualify as experts. In many instances the petitioners were fooled by fake "scientists" using names like Michael J. Fox, Perry Mason, and Geri Halliwell.
