  • Was there blood pouring when the guy got eaten on you in this attraction?

  • @lamegrapes

It was imitation blood but yeah it was awesome!

  • @lamegrapes Yeah, 6:36, "blood" would come down from top.

  • " Is everyone alright down there? " " Sure! We're just screaming for the fun of it!" Lol funny!

  • As a 23 year old man, I screamed like a teenage girl during this thing. It was awesome. Very, very scary in the restraint chair with the noises and dark.

  • This attraction was so damn good, they should have never refurbished it into Stitches Great Escape, that replacement is beyond stupid. It took a beyond awesome technology, and turned it into shit....

  • Thanks for the gift......ya dicks!!!!

  • People of Earth,do not worry,as long as those beams are on,the creature cannont fly out.

    The alien flies out.

    THE ALIEN FLEW OUT!!!!!

    Really? -_-

  • I was six when we were there. It was horrible!! I cried the whole day :D

  • I'e been in that attraction and let me say that even though I first hated it once due to the restraint causing so much sore and pain in my shoulders, I thought I'd begin to like Alien Encounters after I first get used to the restraint and adjust my shoulders to loosen the restraint a bit. By "after," I meant "Stitch: The Great Escape."

  • was that chewing noises in the background near the end? If so ewwww

  • @msx500 yea chewing noises and then a tube flicks against the back of ur neck to make it seem the alien is licking you and breathing on u

  • @canadianbaconbro sounds really scary, damn i wish i got on this, my dad wanted to go back in time so he could go on this ride, from what i've read it sounds so damn scary

  • I was lucky to be on this ride back in 2002. I was only 12. It scared the shit out of my mom. Man, this ride was pretty intense. I do wish they still had it.:/

  • Ive never been on this ride. Last time I went to WDW I was 3 and ive never gone on the ride. Is it scary? I dont see how it is cause u just sit there but ive never been so i wouldnt no could somone explaane the ride? im 13 btw

  • @alanagirlstown This has been gone since 2003. What a shame.

  • @alanagirlstown It was a 'dark humor' ride, in which Disney doesn't have anymore. Basically, in the ride, when the alien is going around it would make the seats shoot out air and water, like the alien was breathing and drooling on you. Whenever he stomped around, you could feel it 'bump' on the floor where your feet were. It was pretty scary... very well built.. but now... only legendary : (

  • R.I.P The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter 1995-2003. I Want it Back!!!!! T_T

  • The extraterrorestrial alien encounter was too scary for kids so I think they did the right thing in putting a more child friendly show since they didn't have very many kids shows at the Magic Kingdom. I haven't been on Stitches Great Escape yet but I hear that it is a pretty good attraction.

  • @christopher67991 More child friendly? Kids are still scared out of their minds on Stitch! Changing the alien from a menace to a comic didn't change the experience for children. When you strap a kid in a chair in a dark room and spray stuff at them, they're gonna get terrorized.

And no, Stitch is widely considered the worst attraction not only in the Magic Kingdom, but in the whole of Disney World.

The whole scheme about Stitch was one of Disney's biggest mistakes EVER.

  • @DarMar106 why did you say it gone wrong??

  • @TypesEvilAspieEyes Chairman Clench was supposed to teleport to earth, but instead the carnivorous alien was teleported instead

  • Apparently, the guests being scared isn't the only factor in Alien Encounter's closure. Other reasons include the attraction operation costs have gotten expensive and Jeffrey Jones's conviction for sex offense.

  • @legomaster that part had us rolling too lol

  • Miss this ride so much

  • I really miss "Alien Encounter" . Wish to bring it back. It was replaced with "Stitch's Great Escape", because " Alien Encounter" had the tourists scared to death. There was a tourist that had a heart attack on the ride, and was rushed to the hospital. And they were sued for that.

  • I remember going on this ride when I was 10 years old in June of 2001

  • Also at 6:58 Alien, don;t eat me, eat this one! That guy should be a comedian! At 8:06 my mouth was open!

  • @LEGOMaster56 That guy isn't in the audience. His only exists in the audio to the attraction.

  • @AdrenalineAddict610 I've listened to the full soundtrack it he wasn't in it.

  • @3:58 It's an alien! no it's my mother in-law! AHAHA I fell on the floor laughing!

  • This was by FAR the coolest ride at disney. I took my wife there to see this and was sorely disappointed to see it had been closed. To find out now why is kinda sad.

  • Sadly this entertainment has gone the way of monkey bars and lawn darts. The busybodies will protect us from ourselves....

  • You know what could've been interesting, instead of this ride, there should've been a ride based on Alien for Universal Studios that would be exactly like this. Imagine how successful that would be.

  • @vgmaster9

Actually...this WAS going to be an Alien ride. In the initial stages, and Eisner was keen on having the Giger Alien be the star of the show. However, the imagineers thought it was too intense for younger kids, so the Alien was relegated to the Great Movie Ride when Disney-MGM opened.

However, traces of the original show could be found...a lunch stand called "Giger's Counter" was outside of it, and early promotional material showed the Giger Alien silhouetted inside the tube.

  • @MouseFan1984 Yeah, but it still probably wouldn't have lasted long like the real one, which is why it would've been better if it was at Universal Studios, both Hollywood and Orlando. It would've been very successful there too.

  • @MouseFan1984

Not true. See reply to Stupoider, above. The Giger alien was dropped for cost reasons and other legal considerations having to do with marketing and merchandising. It was easier to negotiate a 1-off appearance in the Great Movie Ride, rather than base a whole new attraction on an outside property.

There was actually quite a lot of concept art showing the "Alien" version of AE. Most of it was modified once the new in-house creature and storyline was developed.

  • The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland gets a Nightmare Before Christmas overlay in the Fall; I don't see why they couldn't do the same for Stitch's Great Escape and this. Or better yet, theme it to the Aliens franchise like how it was originally intended to be before George Lucas got "involved" with it...

  • Lol at "my mouth was open!"

  • I think the actors' panicked voices always scare me more than the show or ride.

  • Comment removed

  • I didn't realize this opened in 1994. I just missed it. But my parents probably didn't want to take me cause I was 4. I think I would've been okay with it. It was that freaky Body Wars that scared the crap out of me more than any ride lol. But I wanted to go on it again. That ride and this one are now gone or replaced.

  • Damn, I'm going do Disney this summer and was looking forward to this... Then they go and replace it with some fucking lame Stitch ride...

  • @fghjconner

Same here, my cousin told me about it and I excited to go, then found out it was replaced for being too scary. Funny though, I think he took his kids who were really little and they actually said they liked it

  • 6:00

    Man "Roger"

    Me "What?"

    LOL

  • @indyclonejr

    Lol, hi Roger

  • @MostCamperKills Roger, roger. What our vector victor?

  • no one scream if ur quiet it wont eat u ( scream) noo i said to be quiet

  • 7 people almost got eaten by the alien :)

  • Universal Studios should reopen this ride in their park instead, since Universal is more for teens/adults anyway. I wish that would happen. I love Stitch but getting the shit scared out of me was wayy better with Alien Encounter.

  • @lilsurfergrlsp

and while their at it, go with it's original plan and make it tied to the Alien series

  • @lilsurfergrlsp What's great about that idea is that Disney originally wanted it to be called Nostromo, and the creature was gonna be the xenomorph from Alien, but the idea was changed to suit the audience better. If Universal Studios did it, I'm sure they'd get away with making an Alien themed ride!

  • @Stupoider Wasnt it changed because they thought the xenomorph would be to scary. Which is pretty funny considering the monster in this ride is just as scary.

  • @Stupoider

That is not true. There were plans for an "Alien" version of "Alien Encounter," but they were abandoned when it was decided the cost of obtaining the rights were not worth it, and an original Disney creation would be easier to market and merchandise.

(I spent nearly six years of my life developing AE, I know something about its much-misrepresented conception.)

  • @lilsurfergrlsp Disney hasn't completely gotten rid of Alien Encounter! On Stitch's Great Escape you can see Skippy in a teleportation tube that says "Series 1000". Also, there are special locks for broken shoulder restraints. Some of them have the Galactic Federation emblem from Stitch, but I also see some that say "Temporarily Seized" In the same font used throughout Alien Encounter. Disney already brought back some old attractions like the Enchanted Tiki Room and Captain EO. Just believe ;)

  • @lilsurfergrlsp Throw in the Xenomorphs from the Alien movies... instant classic!

  • If that were real I would be screaming my head off the whole time, and at the end i would say"Thanks for nothing ya jackasses!!!!!!"

  • If they would remake this, imagine how much crazier it would be with the amazing technology we have now. It would be terrifying.

  • disney should close down stitch and say it was just a part time ride. like captain eo. bring it back in like 5 more years so we can really appreciate the classics.

  • i love that its stitch, im a big fan of stitch, its more disney like , alien encounter was boring and stupid. stitch rocks!!!

  • blame the parentns they forced there kids on and they got scared and got the ride closed down

  • thats not the reason why it got shut down, disney wanted to make the attraction more kid friendly and disney like, hench stitches great escape which is a big improvement alot of kids love stitch.

  • @skullbasher115 Big improvement? Kids still get the shit scared out of them when it was changed to Stitch, and teens/adults got bored out of their minds!

This type of attraction is just not meant for kids, and changing the alien from menacing to comical doesn't change the experience for kids; they will get scared whenever they are strapped to a chair in a dark room getting random stuff sprayed at them. Changing the demographic removed the appeal to adults, but failed to deliver it to kids.

  • @skullbasher115 No that is the reason they shut it down. Kids under 12 were warned to skip the ride by signs at the entrance. Parents ignored these and took them on anyway. They complained about the ride being too scary for kids - when they weren't even supposed to be on it. Disney got sick of the complaints and changed the ride to be more family friendly by marketing with Stitch. And no, if you read reviews of the ride on WDWMagic or MiceChat you will see kids and adults do not like Stitch.

  • thats not the reason why it got shut down, disney wanted to make the attraction more kid friendly and disney like, hench stitches great escape which is a big improvement alot of kids love stitch.

  • @skullbasher115 Improvement? Stitch still scares kids and adults can't enjoy it since it is for kids now. I even know a lot of Stitch fans who hate the new ride. I took my mom to WDW in 2007 - her first time. We went on Stitch's Great Escape and she hated it. I hated how the thing spits on you. He burps in your face and pretends to break a cell phone. What better way to remind guests of rules on rides than to gross them out. How could you think AE was boring? And it was not stupid.

  • @r0ckoman I wouldn't doubt it, I saw parents dragging their kids into attractions the 2 times I've gone here. Though, to be fair, Alien Encounter didn't really scream "Disney" anyway.

  • They should remake this; except when they get the alien back into the tube, you see it explode and all the blood and guts.

  • I dont go to WDW, I go to DLR, I REALLLYYY! want to get on this, and I think it would be awesome if they try it over here in California; to you know see how much hit it has over here. It's a shame that they put the Stitch thing..... I wonder what happend to all te stuff of AE?

  • They closed this ride probably because it was too scary (the death scream and dripping blood when the monster eats someone). I have only been on the stitch version, but I would totally ride this version.

  • @DisneyfanBeckers That's exactily why they closed it. Too many parents brought little kids on and freaked out at Disney when they were scared. This version lives up to the full potential of the ride system. Stitch barely seems to utilize its effects well.

  • There was nothing like going into this attraction with a bunch of people who were scared. I worked for MK from 1995 - 2000 and lemme tell ya, we had some good times going on this attraction. I miss it so much!

  • if i saw that thing i would get scared shitless

  • If I ever went on it and I was licked by the alien, I would say "Will you stop licking my head?"

  • you want to know whats funny most of these type rides say nothing going to go wrong rightttttttttttttt.

  • Seriously I love Stich, but that ride dosent do any justice to it's predacesor. I went on this ride when I was 12 and I knew it was going to be scary as shit but I thought it was a blast. At least my mom was smart and said if I got scared she's not blaming the park cause there were those warnings the parents should have seen multiple times before going on that ride. It was there stupidity that we have to suffer for now. Parents=reality check!!!

  • @SakuraBlossom903 Agreed. Stitch is a fun character, but he will never compare to the awesomeness of this.

  • @SakuraBlossom903 Now wait a moment! Disney is a competent company and if they see fit to change a ride, then they have good reason to do so!

  • i loved that ride

  • where's MIB when u need em?

  • haha was that some guy in the audience? @5:08

  • @orangelime22 it is audio

  • stitch doesn't even go black, they put in blue lights so you still can see!! BS! BS! BS!

  • 03:56 To 03:58 Sounds like chuck norris shitting out the empire state bulding

  • I wish i was 12 at 1995 so that way i can ride this.

  • I have a question. From 6:41-6:43, after you finish hearing the Maintenance One's character screaming, is that supposed to be the sound effect of the Maintenance One's character's bones crunching and crackling? Because I was never ever quite sure what that sound effect was suppose to be. So please let me know. Thanks!

    -Justin :)

  • @UniversalMan23 Yes, at the same time you hear the alien eating Maintenance One, you get water spirts dripping on you [emulating his blood dripping from the monsters mouth onto you].

  • They should put this back. If not in the MK, they should do what they had originally planned, an "Alien" based ride (or so I've heard that's what this originally was.) and put it in Hollywood Studios. The rides there are extreme, and people know that. That way it won't by Disney's fault (As if it ever was. Parents, read the fraking sign >.>) if the dumb ass parents drag they're 5 year old's on it.

  • i never undestand if those "aliens" (in the screen) are good guys

  • @MrShadowxtreme they are. Even though they screw up and almost get you killed, they save you at the end. Well, in the ride they do.

  • now i remember why they took it out... im normally one for scary rides but this in disney does not make a good combo...

  • first of all, stitch is pretty lame. second of all i really couldnt see anything in this video

  • Holy shit I remember this ride from when I went to disneyland when I was 10. Scariest f**King ride I've ever been in! That was the very first time I had actually shivered with fear. O_O

The freakin' "blood" sprayed all over your face!!!!

This ride is NOT for children!

  • @arandomperson3 Dumbass parents thought it was...that's why this ride got the pink slip. :(

  • this ride scared the crap out of me when i was little lol all i could do was scream 'AHHHH DADDY THE ALIENS ARE GOING TO EAT ME!!!! I WANNA LEAVE!!!!!' haha good times lol

  • haha! ''no it's my mother in law!!!'' god bless the public lol

  • @MrAppleby56 It's not an actual guest. It's part of the ride audio.

  • @AdrenalineAddict610 i don't remember that being in there when i visited this attraction.

  • @MrAppleby56 If you did it during soft opening, it wasn't. After the grand opening, the random guest audio was added.

  • Oh man, I wish this would make a return at Disneyland or another one of the parks. I remember this from when I was a kid, and I'll never forget it. I literally spent an entire day of my Disney World holiday going on this over and over again. I made the trip out there again recently and felt insulted with the Stitch attraction that replaced it. God, this ride was brilliant!

  • I wonder which parts were recordings and which were the audience at 7:00.

  • This just goes to show U furthermore that everything was better in tha 90s!! Do yall remember how scary this shit was getting on as a kid. I think I was like 5 or 6 when I got on with my whole family. Now I know some of yall gettin flashbacks right now just watching this shit at home lol

  • OMG ... this INCREDIBLE. I always talk about how Disney used to be dark (demons in Sleeping Beauty, satan in Fantasia) and how much a creative edge that gave it's artwork. Like Cruela De'vile and Malificent are just intense figures. Thank you so much for posting!

  • Oh my gosh that was awsome. I wish I had gotten to ride that when I was a kid. The first time I saw it I was three and I really wanted to go but my mom wouldn't let me. Every year I would go and she would say that I would get scared. Finally when I was 6 (i think) she said I could go but when we got there it had been closed down. Tear tear :(

  • Pardon me for being curious but what happens when the lights go out & one more thing, why do they have the shoulder harness ? Please fill me in. Can't seem to find the answer.

  • @jjjay69 i haven't been on this version but in the stitch one the shoulder harness is there because it moves when stitch jumps on you and makes it feel more real. I'm guessing it was used for about the same thing in Alien Encounter.

  • @theatredork222 I thank you for your reply. Sounds pretty awesome.

  • @theatredork222 Yeah. At about 7:06, the harnesses jolt a bit. Then there were additional effects built into the seats, which after the jolt, made it feel like the alien was breathing down your neck.

  • @jjjay69 I was there as a kid, but from what I remember, the harness is there only to keep people in their seats so people don't jump around. The attraction did a great job of making you feel completely helpless thanks to the harness as the alien was "breathing on your neck" or when it's wings or feet brushed the back of your head and feet.

  • @Remagoen Thanks !!!

  • Why did they get rid of it?

  • @firesofforever Parents Say That This Ride Was SCARY.

  • and especially now where everything has to be "family", killing off characters in rides is no longer allowed, its a dying art i am afraid.

  • wow, a disney attraction where someone gets killed, thats a first

  • Well maybe first ATTRACTION, but definitely not the first by Disney. They've mastered the art of killing characters off.

  • @AdrenalineAddict610 thats what i meant, they should really do it more often

  • @AdrenalineAddict610 Bambis mom, mUfasa, Ray

  • @firereed4 lilo's parents, tianas dad, most if not every villain, meg from hercules even though she comes back, nemo's mom, in fact almost all moms are kill as well, but never really in an attraction is someone killed, i mean you cant really count haunted mansion because by the time you enter the ride, they are already dead, you dont see the murders or killings, you see a hanging corpse, but again its been there for a while so it doesnt show the person being killed.

  • @slamaholic duh, it's because the ride is too dark and frightening for younger riders. GET USED TO IT BECAUSE STITCH IS MY FAVORITE!

  • If you had actually rode this and not just watched the video, you'd be pissed about its removal as well.

This was SO much more immersive and exciting than Stitch. SGE just doesn't do this attraction justice.

  • Well, I can imagine it being a little creepier if Predator appeared instead of the alien creature.

  • I went to Disney last year and expected to go on this, but instead I saw "Stitch's Great Escape"....

    what the fuck...?!

If neither this or "Aliens:War" re-open somewhere near me, I'll go mad

  • Yep, it really did that.

  • I remember this attraction, I recall going on this when I was 8 way back in 1995. I was terrified to go on at first but LOVED it after I first went on and kept going again and again. I was so gutted to find out this attraction got closed down. Stupid parents and Disney >:( Bring it back!

The Alien was awesome too, a great design. Was an action figure of it ever made? Definitely deserves one.

  • i got so scared of the main show room i wanted to leave right after the preshow lol...i was like 8

  • holy crap i was scared to death of it when i was on it. i remember there was a sign where you had to be at least 8 years old in front of it.

i was 7 but we went anyway. during it i was soooo scared i cried on it. but when i got out i loved it, [i love scaring myself to this day]

then they changed it to stitch being all family friendly.

gah. they should keep it in storage till disney builds an adult friendly scream park.

    was a wonderfulllll ride.

  • Disney did this? NICE. This was fantastic! Real dark, especially for Disney (Black Cauldron being an exception). Love how the alien ATE the technician. That was a great touch

  • No, it got WAY better than that. After the "camera" goes out, water drips from the rafters onto your head to simulate the worker's blood. Then when Spinlok is telling the audience "Don't Scream", the alien spits more "blood" on you. Then after that, the alien flies right behind you, and starts breathing down your neck and licking your head before the power goes back on.

Oh my GOD it was terrifying...but it was still freaking awesome.

  • i truly feel sad for any kid that didn't get to go to Disney or Universal. Those are some of my best memories.

i'd say i'd love to take any future children I have, but by then the parks will probably be unappealing and overly commercial. Kids will probably have no interest in things like this either.

Boy am I glad my childhood wasn't ruined by the internet.

  • They should bring this back, both to Walt Disney World and Disneyland. That would be freakin' awesome.

  • Wow. Quite scary. I remember I got through the "Skippy" part when I was little but was too scared to go on. My mother and younger brother went on, but I stayed behind with my father. Now I want to go on it, but it's Stitch now. Granted, I know Disney is all about family fun, and the stitch there is a more accessbile character, but now I really want to ride this and I can't! Bring it back!!

  • Haha did I hear someone yell "No, it's my mother in law!". Excellent.

  • @FiveDigitDisco Yeah, that's part of the script. It was supposed to be an audience member who would try some comedic relief in the ride. "No, it's my mother in law" was one of his lines. After the alien exploded he would say "my mouth was open". Another one was "alien, don't eat me. eat this one!" and then the alien would "attack guests". Way funnier than Stitch. :)

  • There should be age restrictions on it, but still!! BRING IT BACK!!!!!

  • There were. Dumbass parents ignored them anyways.

  • While this was an incredible attraction, and I greatly regret only being able to see it once, back when I was too young to really appreciate it, I can understand why Disney took it out. Personally, I'd love to have it back, but in all honesty I'm not sure that it really fit in with the tone of the Magic Kingdom as a whole. And, too, it was difficult for them to give adequate warning to parents, as just about every ride there has to have warnings about dark spaces and loud sounds.

  • This was an unbelievable attraction. I raved about it long after I saw it. This is one feature they should have kept. I saw it once and will NEVER forget it. Now it's Lilo & Stitch?! WHAT?!!!! What....the #*(&!

  • All those who miss Alien Encounter and want it back, say I.

  • Comment removed

  • @AdrenalineAddict610 I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I ,I ,I, I, I, I, I!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like the new Stitch version but nothing will compare to the fear and excitement on could feel on this ride. Dumbass parents! Didn't they ever learn to ride in school?

  • We did this in '98 and it was *beyond* awesome. Saw the Stitch thing in '05 and wanted to cry. What a damn shame. What a total damn shame.

  • I remember i was 10 yrs old, i was so scared that i couldn't scream and move at all.. I was in complete shock. I really thought something went wrong and that i was going to die. Why can't universal studio buy this attraction, if its too scary for children?...instead of closing it or replacing it by lame Stitch.

  • Comment removed

  • That was one of my favorite rides

  • I never even got to see it, and they closed it down? THIS IS TREASON!!!, OFF WITH THERE HEADS, BRING BACK ALIEN ENCOUNTER, I WANT TO SEE THIS, IN PERSON

  • i loved this ride i was never scarred of it but i was sad that they took it of but im a fan of sthich and its good and fun but cant beat the original

  • R.I.P. ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter. You will be sorely missed.

  • @ThePirateprincess23 Maybe Disney can do a video game of it or maybe put it in the next Epic Mickey.

  • MY MOUTH WAS OPEN

  • i was scared of this ride in 2001 i was 6 years old and was crying after the ride then 2003 i became a fan of stitch and when they changed the ride i thought it was less scary

  • I've seen both of these attractions, the first verion of ExtraTERRORestrial back in 95 and the current abortion they turned it into....Back in 95, I remember being totally freaked out by this thing, it was awesome.

The Stitch version sure does take all the piss and vinegar out of it. They should bring XS back...very cool experience.

  • the alien almost looks like Megaguirus from the 3rd Godzilla series

  • i thought he riminded me of someone! just that this one has feet!

  • Those people who are screaming and the guy who says "Alien don't eat me," are they real guests just goofing off, or are they some built in audios to get the audience hyped.

  • what voice audio person thingy is tyra banks?

  • I remember this attraction from an early trip, though no one went. Even if it was still around, I probably couldn't go on it. Having all the alien effects around me, I would probably be screaming and begging the employees to let me out. Still, it's fun to watch it here.

  • I've never been to any of the Theme Parks but I heard about this ride. I would have loved it...it's better than a roller coaster because your mind is at play. If I felt Alien breath on me, it would have been over!

  • This ride looked SO beyond cool! I wish Disney would allow some rides like this for parents and older guests because I'm sure it would draw so many people in! Tower of Terror isn't for younger kids and look at how well it does!

  • I was just at WDW. The Stitch version is beyond lame. They raped everything good about this attration, and turned it into a farce. They had something really amazing and unique, but they blew it and turned it into a complete fucking joke.

I used to be scared to death of ExtraTERRORestrial, but loved it. But now its just lame. Thanks a lot Disney. >:(

  • Scarred, but loved it? huh. I guess some love to get scared. I personally think this ride would be too much for me, but I do think it's a very interesting attraction with a nostalgia factor.

  • Well, the Stitch version is an abomination, and a slap in the face to everyone who loved THIS version. This version scared the hell out of me, and was a REAL expirience. And that is why I LOVED it! Stitch, is nothing more than a farce. It sickens me to even think about it, let alone trying to ride it. Its such a tragedy and a travesty!

    BRING BACK ALIEN ENCOUNTER!!!!

  • @Dreaklock they sghould of told everyone to suck it up and deal with it. cuz i went to disney like 2 years ago hoping to ride this ride, cuz my friend came back and told me all about it after he went in 98 and im like hell yea. then i got there and its like stich encounter i said GAY!!! and was pissed off at retarded parents who cant read signs

  • @Dreaklock come on now!! the stich one was way better
