  • Because the world is built on contrast. Without war, peace would be boring. Without hunger, food wouldn't be coveted.

  • god didnt "create" war because "peace" was too boring...

infact, God didnt create war, nor hunger.

He created mankind and let them do what they want, and thats what WE do!

  • God didn't show up and just toss us into the universe and walk off, God plans and directs every single aspect of existence. So why hasn't he floated down to earth with food for the hungry? Without contrast there is no life.

  • I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. :- Isaiah 45:7,8

I'm agnostic and I know this. God says he does all things, evil and good. It even says in the Bible Satan himself has to come to God for permission to commit his acts. What does that say? Of course, a man, or God in this sense, should not be judged by his actions alone, but why he does what he does. Motive defines true character.

  • Actually that's a very good question, it's a shame no one tried to address it. When we as humans try to figure God out, we tend to look at one part of his plan or actions and question it, not realizing the answer is provided in another part of the plan. For example, yes Satan had to ask God for permission to persecute Job, but why, and to what end? If you read Job's whole story, it becomes clear. But if you isolate parts of the story from the context, of course it'll look messed up.

  • where can I buy this song?

  • Salvation is the message, and as long as that never changes, then your way of worshipping God is fine. You really believe we should be "just" like Jesus as you say? Then I guess you should only listen to Hebrew music. Guess not right? God bless.

  • I am not defending all christian rappers, this is speaking of hip hop in general. Who are you and I to say my brother spitting rhymes with a mind for christ is any less of a christian than my brother playing the guitar? The bible says you should evaluate things by their fruit...now if christian rap breeds good fruit and leads kids that relate to salvation...exactly what are you looking at?

  • Secondly, who are you and I to define what the "right" music type is to praise God? Never in the Bible does it say this. Every type of song whether hymn, contemporary, or hip hop can be either secular or Godly. It is a lie to say otherwise. The sound of the music is merely the culture, the message is what you should be concerned about.

  • You say that christian rap or "holy hip hop" is of the world and we are to be set apart. Jesus came to set us free not bind us to more chains. When the curtain was ripped as he was crucified the way to the most holy place was open to all people now, opening the way for the gentiles as well as the jews. Now his sacrifice set us free from the law of the old testament and strictly defined rules andd regulations, not add new ones.

  • Powerful song and video, Lavoisier. I'm waiting for videos of "God Is In Control" and "God." May you always keep your heart and your eyes turned towards Heaven, and your hand to the plow.

    In His mighty Name,

    Pete (from KTF)

  • ...If he is talking about christ, why is he throwing up gang signs..saying he still hood. Any person that comes to christ must first deny himself!

  • Good question. I'll e-mail him and let him answer for himself. In the meantime:

If you want to spread the gospel in China, you talk Chinese. When Paul witnessed to Jews, he spoke in terms they were familiar with. Gang members would pay more attention to someone they can relate to, who speaks their language.

I know Lavoisier--he's turned his back on that life, but he wants to bring some souls to Heaven with him. Like someone said, if you wanna catch fish, you need the right bait.

  • Now this is the hole holy hip hop thing that they us to "get the people", doesn't the word say that its the holy spirit that draws all men unto himself? thats not are job, they speak english! The word says to be set apart!

A new creature old things have past away and all things are new! When we put on the image of christ thats what going to draw them in, because they are going to see jesus in you!

  • re: they speak english

Matthew wrote his Gospel for Jews, so he used a lot of Old Testament concepts. The other Gospels omit many of the Jewish terms, like "Son of David" & "Son of Abraham," because they would be meaningless to gentiles-even tho they "spoke English," as it were. Each Gospel writer, *directed by God,* chose his words to reach a certain audience, using appropriate cultural terminology. The idea was to bring the Word to people, not to wait for people to decide to come to the Word.

  • you dont know what I mean i guess, what I am saying is jesus don't act like the world he acted as if he was from somewhere else thats what they was drown to not someone dressing up in a clown suit trying to give you the word so you will listen to them. Nothing in the word of god is complicated we make it that way, when i talk to someone from the hood about god i dont need to talk slang so they know what i am talking about, saying to them IF you dont recieve christ you are going to hell

  • re: "The word says to be set apart!"

True, and if Lavoisier was "gang-banging or selling drugs for Jesus," I wouldn't defend that. BUT, being set apart doesn't mean to avoid, ignore, or talk over the heads of the lost. Jesus spent a lot of time with the so-called "dregs of society," including prostitutes. Could you say the HE wasn't being set apart? Of course not.

  • look, jesus was doing ministry when he was around them, thats it, he didnt use the worlds way of doing things to get people to follow him, he used the word. Its not confusing, he didn't use no deceptive was to get people to him, if they didnt like what he had to say he dustied of his feet and keep moving!

  • The word says if you are luke warm that he will vomit you out of his mouth, i say that to say in the song he says he puts christ in it but its still "street music" there for its not of god its from the street to the G and the thugs, god is a word god and you cant take what he is saying and make it what you want just because you like it!

  • I spoke to someone from the Bronx last night who said that those hand gestures are NOT gang signs, so that part of your argument doesn't work.

As far as street music not being of God, some people in the early days of the church that ORGAN music is too secular and worldly, and not "of God." I guess they were wrong.

Besides, music and evangelizing are two different things. I like a lot of Contemporary Christian Music, but I wouldn't sing all of those songs in church or at a tent meeting.

  • Im not arguing, its the truth. He is reflecting the world and that plain to see. Are you a christian?

  • You can't negate the use of rap in Christian music just because you DON'T like it. Read 1 Cor 8: 19-23. I've heard people complain about EVERY form of music used in church. They say standard hymns are dreary & old-fashioned. Contemporary-style is irreverent & shallow. Black Gospel has too much yelling, not enough substance. Southern Gospel is too corny. So many people think that their own style of music is of God & everybody else's is of the world & Satan. That's very monastic & Man-centered.

  • The lord talked to me about holy hip hop and bottom line its not of jesus. I used to listen to it till the lord started talking to me about it and showing me things that couldn't make it from him, and had me talk to some of the "christian rappers" and they are all in rebellion of the word of god when it comes down to it.

  • Well the lord has told me About False prophets and People who claim they hear from God too so He has warned me to Ignore people's comments on this BLESSED Ministry. This Music reaches people that God is Dealing with......You know the difference between This and Contemporary Music? This has a Different beat...and Rhymes...... doesn't sound to me like something to be Warned of...also As in every form of the ministry, there are those who fall "for none are righteous" but those dont represent us all

  • @cbaby74 i agree with you my friend. I tried to like your comment but this new youtubes confusing

  • You don't need a million to make that mark on the planet. You've already begun to do so...

  • Stay on your grizzly, and mash on New York or whereever the Lord leads. They don't know about a wretch like me, but I know the blood of Christ cleansed my conscience from dead works, His Holy spirit has renewed my mind, and I am alive because of His grace every day. (SEE Hebrews 9:14; Romans 12:2; Lamentations 3:22,23)
