  • the steering looks totally unstable, like it will fight you and want to turn all the time, and you have to hold the handlebars to keep the wheel straight.

You need a forward offset at the bottom of the fork to fix it.

  • @MrHobiecat It's actually a lot more stable than it looks, believe it or not. The handle bars stay pretty straight and you don't really move them that much when you turn. Leaning turns you more than the handle bars do. I can ride around for miles without any real effort.

Since you are sitting down, you have to keep your balance differently and that was a little hard to learn. Took a few days, but once I got the hang of it, I can easily do a 180 turn in a residential street.

  • @bluewavecoast didnt see your 2nd comment there before I posted a similar comment in your chopper2 video. There is a real art to getting the tire patch to contact the ground just behind the point where the steering tube angle intersects the pavement. Every recumbent bike Ive built, I had to get the bend-hicky out and tweak the fork ends a bit. Maybe the way you have the forks above the steering head has something to contribute to the stability. A bike that fights you to go straight is no fun :^)

  • @MrHobiecat Search "bentchopper 2" and you'll find a newer video

  • Looks pretty neat, but that steer tube sticking at your face is a bad idea. I hope you trim and cap it soon.

  • crooooooooock, essa é muito boa mesmo

  • Awesomeness, I am designing mine right now and yours is the closest I've seen to how I want mine.

  • That rake is crazy haha

    Very cool

  • Thanks man; you know, it's not really that hard to turn and it's a blast taking it down hills or just cruising.

  • That is the coolest looking recumbent i have ever seen.

  • Thanks man! I liked the concept of a recumbent but always thought the ones out there looked so dorky so I built my own! Some might say mines dorky, but I think it's rad. The only commercial recumbent that I would ride is probably the "Rans V3" (just Google it) by RansBikes, it's pretty cool.

  • Oh, I'm going to upload some more new videos here pretty soon, maybe today.

  • haha, do a wheelie XD

  • Do you double dare me?

  • That's a nice looking ride

  • Very nice bike. I'm also in the process of building me one. Good luck
