would it work on drums I can get better assembled ones on ebay built for $3 and I cannot afford 5 sm57 or drum mic kit my laptop has no sound so I could not hear this but yea will it sound good on drums
@DECIFERTHIS09 First you'll need a program for recording (Unless you already own one.) I could email mine to you if you want, it's a portable version. (Meaning it's a compiled program file, click-and-go style.) The reason for having a program is you'll need to record multiple lines at one time, one line/track per-drum.
After that, regarding a home-made piezo contact microphone, the quality isn't going to be wonderful, but it should work decent.
@TNBTBS I recently got a home studio, and I guess I will pick up a few piezos from radioshack even knowing I just got drum mics at a steal. I would see these useful in making a electric drum set or future drum recording. I use a alesis multimix 8 usb mixer so It has the inputs but I can only reocrd left and right in mixcraft but if you have a multi channel recording program that would be cool.
when you put the case against the guitar i thought it stuck to it like with magnets but i guess you are holding it there. that would be awesome if you inserted a magnet to the inside so you could stick the altoid case to it.
I have only just seen all these contact mic vids, awesome idea..
But as to ur question, my guess would be - he hooked the lead into a mixer or an audio interface, ran the sound into a audio software/DAW and applied a electric guitar effect, or VST (Like "Slayer") to the audio channel....
Audioswap much? I wanted to hear the original recoring of this to see how it sounds

@MasiCool232 They tune it at the factory!
billaverbach 1 year ago
@MasiCool232 I think that's a "FIrst Act" guitar. Those things will not stay in tune. They're actually manufactured to stay out of tune. =)

First - tune this guitar.
Second - good work with the pickup.
Third - this song was by Death?
Max0Inq 2 years ago
bro bro bro! the fact that its out of tune only adds to the flair.
this is somehow both artistic and utilitarian.

ran the lead straight into my amp, turned on the distortion channel. simple as that, but software effects work just as well
