  • Comment removed

  • This is the first song i wrote for the..for the record, i dont mean for the record, like for your documentation of my information. I mean like for the album. but this is off the record, what im tellin you about the record is off the record. this is about the album, so we can keep this off the record. When i was making the record this was the first song i had for the album. (haha man' a GENIUS)

  • does any one know what guitar is he playing? i have never seen him playing that guitar...

  • 5:03 to the end is omazing

  • tired voice..he needs to rest that voice.

  • @nikkisamodio732 i igree!

  • @nikkisamodio732 this was actually at the beginning of his battle studies tour.. xD his voice always needs to warm up xD

  • FUN FACT: there's two songs in this video, one of which was close to making into the record

  • @stockmarket101 what other song? over and over?

  • @stockmarket101 half of my heart was actually the first song he wrote for battle studies C:

  • @FreaquedeMusique its not a song he imporvazied that

  • grossartig....

  • What a smile 4:45 XD

  • John does a little dance when he starts playing XD so cute! i just love him :D and i absolutely love this song! <3

  • The intro was... @@... Miracle comes after that~

  • great guitar great voice + great lyrics and compisition = the greatest

  • what is that guitar?? i gotta have it..hehe

  • @jasonism123 yeah, it looks so...cool

  • @jasonism123 rick turner model 1

  • bloody great song !!!!

  • John Mayer is an extremely talented man, and I get somewhat sad when I see thumbs down on great videos like this!

  • @pdouble3493 so true.. same here.. i get so fucking aggresive when i see all this justin bieber shit gets voted and ranked so high which has NOTHING to do with real heartfelt music... mayer is pure geniusity...

  • @videoscorn Exactly. It`s just sad

  • i always love this performance!!

  • my favorite version of Half of My Heart :)

  • Ugh. Such tone, in his guitar, in his voice...goddamn.

  • John Mayor has been around for a while. Great song writer. Although I' m still getting used to the fact that his song's can be a bit soft because of his song writing and some are more loud. Then he can also put one hell of a jam session out of his guitar with his band. Wide spectrum of talent.

  • Why does he look like Lindsay buckingham.... Hmmmm

  • two ppl only have half a heart lulz

  • The girl dancing by herself at 1:30.

  • In the beginning of his tour his voice is always worse than in the end...

  • obviously half of the yelling girls out there don't know half what they're yelling about

  • He uses to sing much better. Maybe sick with his voice these night. These guy use to be just amazing in live.

  • i like his little shuffle at the start.

  • thats wat u call........ perfect

  • I can't stop watching this. dear john mayer, how can you be so damn perfect?

  • never seen john play that guitar before damn

  • Not the best live singer, that's for sure.

  • @BlackestBlood420 he was sick. haha hes one of the best live.

  • The Brazil awaits...

  • Gosh! I'm really in love! *-*

  • I'd vote this guy as the greatest guitar player of this generation

  • @lastkiz13 Derek Trucks, man.

  • @BrezZach lol. i checked him out. he's a lot like duane allman. thanks.

  • @lastkiz13 Yeah, he is heavily influenced by Duane but he definitely has his own sound to him. Trucks is a better guitarist and Mayer is the better musician. IMO.

  • @BrezZach ya got that right. :) i guess that was what i was trying to say..

  • @lastkiz13 Him or Bonamassa. They are very close!

  • @Cbluesrocker id say there are 4 very awesome guitarist in this generation: Mayer, Bonamassa, Trucks and Frusciante

  • @lastkiz13

it's hard to say that for sure =/

There are so many good players like John. For example: John Frusciante, Joe Bonamassa, Philip Sayce ( this guy is AWESOME! ), Jack White etc etc

  • @lastkiz13 Damn straight.

  • @lastkiz13 bit of a bold statement, but each to their own.

  • @lastkiz13 i like him. But there are many more greater guys. I think Joe bonamassa is a greater guitarist.

  • very good

  • its a shame that john had to get a cold right before this concert so if you were wondering why it sounds less than awesome thats why. he still did it like a champ.

  • His voice was great on this evening. By this song i mean.

He is a great musician. Particularly live.

Sorry for my bad Enlish- i´m German. And a real big fan.

    O o oohhhhhhhhhhoooo

  • What guitar is that?

  • @oliverandm rick turner model

  • Happy birthday john mayer!

  • anyone answer me what is the BRAND OF JM and ROBBIE MCINTOSH GUITAR HERE?? the LOGO is "D"

  • @aaronjordan010388 Duesenberg

  • @keenanj08 tnx man

  • @aaronjordan010388 It's a Duesenberg, German Company, but don't aks me for the model, I have no idea.

  • @guitarplayer1994 that one is a solid guitar for a solid musician MAYER!

  • @aaronjordan010388 Robbie uses a Deusenberg Double Cat 6 guitar. John plays a Rick Turner Model 1.

  • It like John Mayer is doing the hula from 00:53-1:06 :P

  • Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac uses that guitar. He inspired John Mayer for this song. You see where I'm going?

  • @TenFourMusicGroup I am glad somebody else also thinks this sounds like a Fleetwood Mac song.....

  • sooo much better without taylor swift

  • i was born in the arms of imaginary friends... genius

  • @jetluga I love that line too. My grandparents have been married for 70 years and my parents for 36 but still. so many 1 parent familes.

  • actually i don t like this kind of music

but this song makes me relax

    i like it

  • @PredatorZgW Same. I can hear the Tom Petty-band influence (don't like his music too much either), but this sound and his voice seem to mix well.

  • first of all, he's extremely good looking!! secondly, that dance at the beginning.... no words!!

  • hes was sick on this show

  • 1 person out there just doesn't get it

  • @larok21 make that 2 retards folks...

  • That's one ugly guitar..

  • what guitar is that?

  • @tboladave Looks like a Rick Turner 'One', I believe Lindsey Buckingham plays this model...if memory serves , the pickup can rotate along the flat plane of the gtr's face. It sure sounds like one.

  • @kerranz Your memory serves you correct! I have the same guitar, wonderful instrument! John Mayer is truly talented great tune. I bought the guitar more based on Lindsey Buckingham who's style is really unqiue!

  • @Neil4Speed I got to watch Lindsay play from about six feet away at Fleetwood Mac's Rumours tour back in 76 or so, had no idea he was a 'Frail'er, but it does make a note sting. I have also communicated with Rick Turner about the guitars he's making for Henman these days...(I design electrics as well). He's so knowledgeable it's scary.

  • @kerranz Wow, Fantastic story man! I have been lucky to see Lindsey up close twice. Those Henman's are quite pricey, probably sound amazing though!

  • 1 person accidently clicked the dislike button.....

  • @mc7lax and yet your still watching his videos

  • His music ALWAYS manages to give me goosebumps... awesome.

  • the official video is up on twonderlandmusic :):) i love it

  • The break down has a paul simon feel about it!! And thats not a bad thing!!

  • 2:54 I bet he's staring out a bored boyfriend in the crowd, he likes doing that :)

  • i wish it would load faster.

  • when the crowd start singing to the ooooooo bit that must be the greatest feeling in the world

  • most of his audience is bobbing their heads but are not really taking in his lyrics. "there is something about this age" meaning the age we live in now is full of complexities and hard expectations with everything but mostly realtionships how they r failing

  • i love the groupies at 535 thats awesome

  • I love his little walk in the beginning of the song. So cute. ♥

  • yeh, his vocals are a little weaker here than usually sence hes not used to singing the new songs live

  • @Giablo1

he had a flu this show lol.

  • @pastyourhorizon That explains a lot.

  • sooo sexy

  • LOL! The guy on front throw is about to go gay fir john Mayer!!

  • Can somebody put the lyrics from minute 5.32 to 6.30??

  • For anyone wondering what guitar John is using; it is the legendary Rick Turner Model 1 guitar customly made and produced exclusively for legendary guitarist Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac in 1979. Lindsey Buckingham has used this guitar for about 32 years and stated it is one of the best instruments he ever played ! Before 1979, Lindsey used a Custom Gibson Les Paul and Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster.

  • he deserve it

  • check out my cover:)

  • 8:28 \m/!!!

  • amazing performance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he looks likes hes high... but hes amazing!

  • used to hate this guy but damn what a great song!..who cares if he's off? All those hot chicks at the concert,I bet they didn't care..keep rockin John!

  • @Hurricanetrakker of course they didn`t care. they`re fuckin chicks. like groupies :) they aren`t really in for the music. most for john and..what the hell ,he also has great songs! who cares he`s out of tune ? after all we don`t know that much music and we think hanah montana is cool and love justin bieber :) that`s pretty much what they think :P

  • @townbiscuit wow, have any of u seen this video on weed? even better stoned!! :)))))))))))))))))

  • what the hell ? am I the only one listening to this ? he is so out of tune on this whole concert on beacon theatre. he was way better before live. and I am actually a mayer fan..but let`s be realistic.. his voice kinda sucks here and there :) unfortunately :D

  • @townbiscuit, I agree with you man! I love mayer, but this performance is not that good at all. I mean, its not terrible, but compared to for example the where the light is performance (which was pretty much flawless) this is well over par. sad :(

  • Which guitar does this other old dude use ?

  • @Danilokis11: That's a Duesenberg Double Cat.

  • John sounds a little out of tune in the beginning

  • a littlle ? :) you sure it`s just a little ? because it sure seems like he`s out of tune the whole concert.

  • Does anyone know what kind of guitar that is??

  • Its a Rick Turner Guitar, the same guitar that Lindsay Buckingham uses from Fleetwood Mac, John also throws in a cover of "Dreams" in this song often when he plays it

  • oh ok thanks, it sure is an interesting looking guitar.

  • not his greatest his vocals but still outstanding

  • Amazing song his lyrics blow me away!!! :) amazing singer!!! :) <3

  • Can someone post the lyrics of the new part added?

  • "not for your documentation of my information" haha nice

  • i love how he breaks it down at 5:00...

  • I know, it`s beautiful.

  • What kind of guitar is that?

  • This dude got some age issues...I've noticed that in some of his songs...

  • oh yeah Stop this train, Who says, come to think of it most of them do.

  • John's singing's a bit off...

  • indeed..

  • @jurk17 maybe he has a cold?

  • yeah i think its the recording

saw him live last week and was as good as ever...

or maybe he had a bad day!

  • its surprising how taylor swift doesnt have a huge part in the song but without her it sounds quite different

  • ditto to silvernatz comment!

  • Go to the Philippines dude!

  • Is that a different drummer or did he just cut his hair?

  • @MrJoeymartinez i belive its our main man steve jordan

  • I think it's still Steve Jordan.

  • The drummer that used to tour with the "band" part of John Mayer's stuff was J.J. Johnson. The drummer here is Steve Jordan. He's in the John Mayer Trio. Steve Jordan is now touring with the "band" instead of J.J.

  • Did someone found the lyrics from the last and new part??

  • i love the meaning of this song. and i love how john knows how to evoke such feelings out of people with his brilliantly chosen lyrics

  • this performance of this song rocks. I love the improv. =)

  • i quite like the little jig john does at the start of the outro. haha.

  • Crazy shit. Love it when he improvises. I join the club of those who cant wait to see him live. Yeah. DK 05-31-2010

  • his voice is like "i cant wait until this show is over" great artist though

  • I'm kinda dissapointed by this performance. :-/ I love the album sooo much though. Anyone with me on this?

  • His voice is clearly tired...he dropped down many sections. I think it will be better live in the future, this was just a long show and was also pretty high pressure. But yeah, it's not studio quality or energetic like normal, but I think the improv at the end completely makes up for it all. :)

  • I think the same, but this must be a try out though? Whe're all spoiled by Where the light is i think.

But still... he is the revelation of JH,EC and SRV i love the guy so much, such a great guitarplayer, cheers a friend from the netherlands.

  • yeah, love the album as much as you do, but can't wait to see him live.

  • Bob at 7:13 hahahah good stuff.

  • this is a clearly Fleetwood Mac inspired song... and the prove is just seeing how John is playing the same guitar Lindsay's Buckinham uses... in my humble opinion he's trying to render tribute to one of the greatest guitar players

  • i think he's searching all different stiles. Here some early Beatles. And yes of course Lindsay, but not because of this guitar. I think de guy is awsome.

  • totally stole that last part of the song from Tom petty's learning to fly live in florida

  • This song is the story of my life !

  • Does anyone know what guitar that is. THe head stock is sweet

  • rick turner model 1

  • That's the guitar that Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac always use

  • Can somebody please explain the "half of my heart´s got a real good imagination, half of my heart´s got you" line? I can´t figure out why "it´s mean". Yeah, I know, I do feel like an idiot for asking.
