My Great Gr grandfather was in the 6th SC Inf. He was John Jackson Nichols. He was wounded at 7 Pines in May 62 , wounded again at sharpsburg in May 64 .Surrendered , paroled with Lee at Appomatox April 65 . He was 22 years old when the war ended. He returned to York co. and married Elizabeth Williford . They migrated to Rye Arkansas and had 11 children.
